Ozzy's Fine Dining Restaurant in Highland

We had an excellent lunch at Ozzy’s. It’s a stylish restaurant enhanced by a wood burner stove on a cold November day. We enjoyed scallops and haggis starters followed by sea bass, seafood linguini and Kurdish Lamb for main courses. All were very well cooked and at around £8 for starters and £16 for mains felt like fair value for lunch. I did notice that the dinner prices on mains increase by £10 - £15. Wine by the glass options weren’t great and quite expensive. Service was excellent - friendly and attentive. Would recommend for a tasty well cooked lunch in Nairn

This is a great restaurant in Nairn ,Ozzy is brilliant cooking the finest of ingredients . We are so impressed ,we are going back tomorrow. Front of house excellent ,this is a must if you are in a Nairn

Fantastic visit from the professional yet relaxed service from the front of house staff to the exceptional food from chef ozzy . Starters were scallop and shrimp bruschetta and goats cheese tart , mains of chicken and ricotta meatball linguine ( best pasta dish I’ve ever had)with the other being steak . Desserts were chocolate tart with pistachio and cranachan . Apologies for no photos but we were enjoying the experience far too much !! Keep up the excellent work , we will be back soon

The food was amazing! The waiters were very kind. the mocktails were amazing and my daughter loved the place very much. She wanted to try dinner here for a while and she asked, when are we back? She is only 8! 😅☺️

Outstanding. We were here for a pleasant, and hopefully tasty and relaxing lunch whilst on holiday in beautiful Nairn. We weren't disappointed. Fabulous food, excellent service and highly recommended. We enjoyed it so much we are going again for lunch later in our holiday.

We have been here several times and it is always high quality food, fantastic cocktails and wonderful service.

We visited Ozzy's a year ago and enjoyed it so much we came for Sunday lunch as well, so when we decided to come to Nairn again, it was a no-brainer as to where we would go for my birthday dinner. My husband actually made the booking in September, after checking that there would be vegetarian options that didn't involve butternut squash (which I dislike and seems to feature a lot in restaurant vegetarian food) The restaurant itself and staff are as lovely as ever. It was quite busy, but the staff were attentive. My husband ordered the soup for starters and I ordered the hummus. He really enjoyed his soup and bread. I found the hummus a little bland and would have preferred flatbread rather than soft bread for a bit of texture. Next for him was a surf and turf pasta and a highly anticipated Thai style red curry for me. He felt both parts of the dish were good, but they maybe didn't blend together well, like they were two separate concepts. I asked for my spice to be an 8 out of 10 (I really like that way of gauging spice!) and the spicing was perfect, as was the rice, but the curry was so salty. The taste of saltiness just built and built until I couldn't eat anymore, which was really disappointing. Maybe our expectations were too high, based on our previous experiences, but it wasn't up there. Certainly not anywhere near the worst meal I've had, but just average when I'd expected excellent.

Fabulous food and the friendliest of staff. Ozzy came out at the end of the meal to make sure we had enjoyed it. It was all delicious and such a great choice of dishes to choose from.

The location is great. We were able to park on High Street just outside as it was after 6. The staff were very nice and the food was first class. I had goats cheese and mushroom tart, and the pastry just fell apart when you cut into it, there was cranberry inside. It was delicious and perfectly cooked. Had the slow cooked brisket beef for mains, the beef was tender and the mash and veg were lovely, the jus was very tasty but there was too little of it. I told the waiter when he collected the plates and he said they would have been happy to bring more, but you shouldn’t need to ask. The beef was plentiful but needed much more jus. My husband had the same and he had no where enough jus either. That is my only complaint. My daughter had sirloin which was perfect and came with a little jug of peppercorn sauce on the side, I think the beef should come with a side jug of jus. Desert was also perfect, as was the Irish coffee. We would definitely eat here again. And it wasn’t overpriced . Beautiful setting too with a roaring fire and leather settee to sit and have a liqueur or a wee dram after dinner.

Visited here for the first time a couple of weeks ago with some friends. The restaurant is beautiful, lovely menu, food and service were both excellent. Will definitely be back, Christmas menu looks tempting!

One of the best meals weve had in a long time was this visit to Ozzys in Nairn , the atmosphere is great , old pop tunes playing out over a well lit busy restaurant with Ozzy working his magic in the open kitchen creating fantastic food by himself , service was superb from the 2 members of staff who were friendly , courteous and very good at their jobs but the real star is the food which was excellent , a starter of scallops followed by the beef stroganoff and finished with Ozzys own version of the Eton mess with mango and coconut which was sensational , easily one of the best eating experiences weve had in Scotland, thanks to Ozzy and his staff , very well recommended

Another absolutely superb dining experience in the heart of Nairn. My wife, daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch today. The food was beautifully cooked. Ozzy is a modern day miracle worker. I am runnng out of superlatives. Every time we leave we agree “that can’t be beaten”….yet each time we have to add “amazingly, that was even better than last time”. Outstanding value for money too.

Well where does one begin with this outstanding dining experience? I read Ozzy's claims to fame and his being an "alchemist", and I have to say that they are in no way exaggerated. To call this "fine dining" is spot on. The service was great, and in terms of value for money, this place is outstanding. I had the scallops as a starter and the seafood linguine. I make no secret of the fact that I am a seafood snob, and as such I have high expectations. I was not let down here. Quite the opposite. In terms of the quality of the food and the service, this was a culinary dream. I still can't quite believe what I was charged on this à la carte menu. An amazing dining experience and tremendous value for not a lot of money. A meal here would be worth the trip to Nairn alone. Should you be staying in Inverness or even Elgin, please make the trip to Nairn. This is THE place to eat and on my experience, and with my high expectations, you will not be disappointed. Oh, and the coffee was amazing too!

Selected because of the reviews, we had high expectations and looked forward to excellent food. It was a special occasion for a birthday, so wanted somewhere a little different. Struggling to see how the food was more than average, for both our mains. Pasta was slightly soft and over cooked (we did advise waiter who offered to replace but were half way through), duck over cooked and a tad tough. Our starters were both very good. Didn’t have dessert. Service was inattentive and slow at first, with our wine not arriving until after our starters were served - around 20 minutes of being seated. Once starters were served, it was like Aldi check out and we were quickly served mains with very little time in between. Atmosphere was nothing more than average, and our table was in middle of a walk way, under bright lights with little ambiance. They had a very large table of 20 arrive just after us and a table of 10 just around same time we were seated- maybe the reason and an unusual experience. However, expect same price, expect same quality. We wouldn’t return or recommend sadly.

Had an excellent lunch at Ozzy’s. The fish was delicious, it melted in the mouth. Without doubt the homemade sticky toffee pudding and caramel sauce was the best I’ve ever had 😋. They were able to cater for my wife’s allergy, Ozzy, the chef, advised against a couple of dishes. He has a real passion for what he does. The service was excellent, friendly and attentive. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Finally no fish & chips!!!!! We had to search for a long time until we found a restaurant in Scotland that didn't serve the usual fish & chips or burgers & chips. In Ozzy's Kitchen we found what we were looking for: finally food that isn't just for sustenance, but is also enjoyable. Highly recommended for people with a minimum of food culture.

The food was very tasty, the service was okay and the decor very nice. Great place to catch up with good food. Its not fine dining for me. Scallops with parsnip puree and pomegranate & balsamic dressing was tasty and didn't need the lettuce. Kurdish style lamb fillet & couscous I thought was dry until I tasted the mild chilli sauce in the wee pot which brought it altogether and was delicious. Again could've done without the salad leaves. The Expresso Martini was too sweet for me and I didn't enjoy it. Chilli marinated chicken skewers were great. The macaroni was good and a great idea to have you own scale of hotness for the curry. My friend took a 9.. thoroughly enjoyed it but wouldn't go for a 10!

This was just impressive! I'm staying in Nairn for two nights for work, and I am glad I tried this place. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely 110% delicious! I had the 10oz sirloin steak meal, and it was honestly up there with the best steak meals I've ever consumed. Maybe even go as far as saying The best I've consumed. Ozzy, owner and chef, cooks the food himself to order and is proud of his work. And so he should be. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who visits Nairn. It's a shame I live over 400 miles away 😅

This place came recommended from our hotel just outside Nairn. Great parking, really easy to find. Friendly service, great menu choice. Had monkfish starter & Thai chicken skewers bith lovely. Then monkfish thai green curry & surf & turf. Both excellent! Lovely bar with draft beer & a variety of cocktails offered. Set up is really good and well thought out. We will definitely return.

What a lovely meal we had at Ozzy’s. When we eat out I am partial to Fish & Chips and my partner likes a burger. So we have lots of experiences to use as a benchmark and Ozzy’s was right up there as one of the best. The service was attentive without being overbearing and very pleasant. We will happily return next time we are in Nairn.

In a landscape full of bland and meh in Scotland, this place is standing out with quite flavourful food. We enjoyed our meal and recommend it for the meal. :)

So, what happened? We booked in the afternoon for my birthday for dinner later in evening. We had perused the menu and were very much looking forward to dinner. As soon as we sat down we were told they had no drinks license (could have told us that in the afternoon) The fish and scallops cooked well. The main courses were served with bought frozen yorkshire puddings and pre pepared veg obv from the nearby supermarket. Staff appeared distracted and frankly depressed, completely no atmosphere or ambience. An overpriced, flat and sad experience.

Great food, the ambience was unusual for Scottish standards. The service was very friendly and accommodating. Funny thing, the restaurant lost its license to sell alcohol for a few weeks, so we were asked to get the alcohol we wanted from the CoOp, 50m away. These were then served to us at the table.

Thanks alot to the chef and the staff for the outstanding service.. The food is amazing and tasty .. Its the best restaurant in Scotland we had.. A very nice and different choices offered to meet everyone tastes even kids... Many thanks and definitely will come again in our visit to Scotland..

Ozzy’s now properly back after. Covid lockdown troubles, OZZY had to survive on selling fish and chips takeaways for quite a while, Restaurant now open again with Ozzy as very visible chef. Excellent food, and restrained Aussie Shiraz by the glass moe like an Od World Rhône Syra, & that is a compliment. Went well with my pink roasted Venison. Termed Fine Dining, which it is, but one can still pop in for just excellent homemade soup with homemade bread at Lunchtime

Ate here on a Saturday lunchtime. It was a bit cold in the restaurant but the surrounds were lovely. Varied menu including lots of gluten free options. We both enjoyed the scallops to start then I had the steak baguette and my daughter had the chicken sizzler ( it was sizzling) all the food was delicious and lovely presentation. Staff were very pleasant

Mature couple July 23. Late review a bit remis of me. I'd endorse the top reviews. Surpassed expectation. Sea bass was fab came with a spicy sauce and wee nan as was the chicken curry £52 for food and drinks was excellent value. I'd def go back. Music was eclectic.

The restaurant has been designed perfectly and really gives off a relaxing feeling. You could tell that Ozzy really took the time with creating the meal which added to how amazing it tasted. Ozzy and all staff were extremely friendly and polite. 10/10 experience.

We have eaten here several times, unfortunately this will likely be the last time. Lovely decor, nice and present staff. Food was good but not amazing as what we treated before in the past. Prices have gone up since the last time we were there and the food did not reflect this, quite to opposite. To top it off it was uncomfortably cold in the restaurant, as for the toilets, they were Baltic. To summarise, average food at high end prices in an uncomfortably cold restaurant. Such a shame to see it had gone down hill ☹️

My friends and I have visited Ozzies a few times and have never been disappointed. The food was always delicious and well presented. The staff were always so pleasant and friendly. We will definitely return. The log fire on a cold winters day is a bonus if you are lucky enough to get a seat beside it. The only negative comment I have is that the only wine served is a house wine and it’s £30 a bottle which we all thought was a little expensive

We were so impressed, we went twice! First time was the Thursday for my birthday. Amazing food and drinks and very good service, so we decided to go for Sunday lunch, too. Hubby had the beef Sunday roast with extra red cabbage and I had the duck tacos. Both were absolutely amazing! The duck looked a bit dry, but was actually really succulent. Hubby's beef fell apart. We're going to come back to Nairn next year and Ozzy's will definitely be on our list to visit

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch - great service, tasty food (the Kurdish lamb dish and the sizzling duck were our mains, pudding was good too - especially the sticky toffee pudding!) and quality surroundings. It's great to be able to add somewhere else on our small list of local eateries!

This is the 8th or 9th time we have had lunch in Ozzy’s in the past couple of years ....and the third time I have written a review. I’m running out of superlatives. Today I had the Kurdish style lamb with couscous and it was simply bursting with flavour. My wife had the sizzling platter duck….which I had last time we ate here….and it too was absolutely delicious. So, food of the highest quality, wonderfully prepared and presented, generous portions, reasonably priced, friendly and efficient waiters, lovely decor………..what’s not to like? Nothing as far as we are concerned…..but each time we have visited for lunch the restaurant has been very quiet. As “exiled” Nairnites living in Elgin we consider the 45 mile round trip to eat in Ozzy’s well worth the gallon of fuel it costs us…..but we can’t understand why the restaurant is not busier. We have eaten at several other establishments in Nairn in recent times, all of which were busier… but none of which came close to matching Ozzy’s for the quality of the food, in our opinion. Last time we were through, two ladies at the next table ( the only other diners at that time) shared our views regarding the quality of the food and they too expressed surprise it was not busier. Ironically they too had travelled from Elgin simply to eat in Ozzy’s having read glowing reviews about it. Good people of Nairn……you have a real gem in your midst, right in the heart of the town. ……..look forward to seeing more of you there.

We spent about a week in Scotland and our dinner at Ozzy's was easily the best meal we had during the entire trip. I wish I had taken a picture, but I highly recommend the Chicken and Roast Pepper Couscous. Food was great, service was great, easy to find nearby parking, and everything was fairly priced.

We are visiting Scotland. Me, my wife and my 17 year old son. We randomly chose to have lunch at Ozzy’s as we drove along the coast. My wife had the Sunday Roast/chicken. My son had the seafood linguine. I had the chicken sandwich. It was all spectacular. Easily the best meal we have had in Scotland. I don’t leave a lot of reviews but the food here was amazing!

After a very long day of seeing the sights, we happened upon Ozzy’s. We had trouble finding for a restaurant there that had gluten free items on the menu. Ozzy’s had several lovely options, and the dish I ordered was beautifully prepared, and tasted delicious! We were both pleasantly surprised at the high quality.

I would recommend this restaurant if you want freshly cooked, delicious food in a lovely dining room and with excellent service. I had a Kurdish kuba and an original bramble cranachan and my dining companion had beef stroganoff followed by a coffee infused sticky toffee pudding. Wonderful! Visited on Thursday 28th September.

Fabulous! Found ourselves in Nairn after a long day looking at houses. Did not have a reservation but were found a table for two immediately. Impeccable service, fantastic food and a warm and welcoming atmosphere... We will no doubt be visiting Nairn again soon and I am sure we will find time to eat at ozzy's.

This restuarant is excellent - the food is of stellar quality, best steak and duck we have ever had. And the scallops and black pudding are the best. A bit pricey but you don't mind when the food is so good. Well done! 👏👏

Beautiful food and service I can't recommend it enough

My husband and I popped in here for a late lunch. The restaurant was very quiet, presumably because it was well after lunchtime, but the service and food was excellent. I would return here if I found myself back in Nairn.

A very lucky find! We were just out in Nairn by chance and came across this fabulous restaurant. Service and atmosphere were superb, and the food was fresh and delicious. Thoroughly recommend.

We had spent a day exploring the beauty of the area formerly known as the Scottish North East Counties and landed in Nairn mid afternoon. We had difficulty finding a place to eat at this time and came across Ozzy’s Fife Dining. Although slightly put off by the “fine dining badge” we ventured in. It was quiet to be fair but mid afternoon is not the most popular time to eat. However well appointed and cozy the staff made us welcome and showed us to a table. Good varied menu and not overly expensive. We ordered mains and the food was nice and hot, beautifully presented and quite simply “yummy”! Once the clear plates were removed from the table is was eyes down on the menu again for the sweets. As per the mains we were not disappointed they were delicious. Overall 5 out 5 is more than a fair appraisal of this visit.

This restaurant is doing everything right. The dishes are incredibly thought out. They are unique and fresh. I loved the welcoming atmosphere. It is very clear how much the experience means to this establishment. My family was visiting from the US and it was our first night night here, and it was absolutely a memorable experience. I had the Negroni and Venison Stew special and I left very satisfied. If we are ever back in Nairn this will be on my list of restaurants I will definitely be coming back to. Cream and cheese sauce for taliatelle with chicken with the consistency of water! There were taliatelles floating in this yellow water along with large slices of chicken. I do not recommend. I ate because I was hungry. Unfortunately, I didn't drink the sauce. No spoon was given to him!

Friendly service, and delicious food which was beautifully prepared and presented. The only issue with atmosphere was of our own making, as we chose to eat early when it was quiet (6pm). But the dining area is a comfortable place to be and it was clear the ambience was improving as more guests arrived. I'd absolutely recommend.

The food was incredible. No exaggeration, feel incredibly happy to pay with we did for what we received. Portion was great and the taste was brilliant. The servers were lovely and we appreciate the hospitality! Couldn’t fault the place, well worth a visit if you’re in Nairn.

Had lunch there today(Saturday). Was quiet when we entered but we were early, more people when we left. Food was good - my wife thought the seafood linguine was the best restaurant meal she had for some time. Service was good and nice decor. Would definitely go again if we lived nearby.
