The best restaurants serving Seafood food in South East

I ventured up to the Harbour last night for some dinner and we found ourselves at the London and Paris. The food was lovely. The service was great. I had the beef bugging on and it was absolutely delicious. I will be coming back for some more delicious food and for a great atmosphere.

This cafe was next to my hotel, so I dropped in for a coffee and baguette before setting off to hike round to Ryde. Wish I'd discovered it sooner, as it was the best cafe I came across during my stay in Sandown. I had an egg-and-tomato baguette, which they knocked up very quickly (they are not ready made), and it was lush. I love eggs and always have them in a baguette, and I rate this the best egg baguette I had all summer. They'd done the eggs to perfection--so instead of the flat pale look slices of boiled egg usually have, these had the granular golden surface of good-quality eggs cooked very recently. I had a chat to the jolly, friendly ladies in this cafe, including a lovely Welsh one who told me everything is fresh. You wouldn't get a slice of yesterday's boiled egg in Planet Janet, that's for sure. And with lovely bread and fresh tomato slices too, it was just the perfect baguette experience, which is not often come by. That and a good coffee in this charming sea-front corner cafe set me up for my hike with a smile on my face.

This is a great local fish & chips shop, fast efficient food with friendly staff, prices are increasing but still better than many other fish & chip shops. You call telephone your order in so even faster collection. Good range of items on the menu. Highly recommend that you try it.

Hot and reasonable value as fish seems mega expensive these days. However, the cod and plaice we had were like minows and the batter far outweighed any fish. Very greasy too.

First visit to this chippy and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of both fish and chips. Lovely crispy batter and a nice texture to the cod. The chips were nicely cooked and tasted great. My food was cooked to order and it was worth the wait. Nice service too.

Garling fish bar has been completely refurbished, including new fryers and have a new menu that now includes both gluten-free and vegan options. We tried the gluten-free cod and chips. The portion sizes were huge, and the batter on the cod was so light and crispy and tasted amazing. The staff there were really nice. The food and the customer service was excellent, and I would highly recommend this chip shop.

Simple no frills fish n chip shop. I've travelled around the coast and I'm always searching for a better chip shop, I have not found one better than Highfield. Prices are low for the quality. A Cod n Large chips is a tenner. It's £12.50 most other places.

This chippy is amazing! The chips are the best I've ever had and I've just had a Cod and that was the best in Milton Keynes I've ever tasted... Growing up we had a brilliant chippy that was loved by everyone, Friars is the closest I have ever tasted.. Thanks, keep up the good work Tom

I nearly fell off my perch when I found out the cost of a fish dinner for two at what was Mother Kelly's in Portchester. I left this takeaway, went a quarter of a mile up from there and visited Tony's bar in Saunders house, Leith Avenue. Got two nice bits of fish cooked to order/ perfection and more than enough chips for the both of us. Sorted.

First visit on Father’s Day with large order as one of only fish and chip shops open. Must say all very good! I had the homemade chicken and mushroom pie- delicious

My Birthday lunch exceeded all expectations, having firstly been greeted with a complimentary glass of fizz! The food was exceptional, the service was excellent & our requests were met with no fuss by our most attentive waiter. What’s not to like……

Ive had their cod and their haddock and another type of fish once (I can't recall the name) All 3 were 10/10. You might have to queue? Don't let that put you off. You will miss out if you don't.
