Delicious food, friendly and attentive Manager and staff A lovely restaurant decorated beautifully, we’ve enjoyed a few times now, and will visit again soon One of our favourite restaurants to eat in Folkestone!

2 of us chose soup for starters, very good, 1 chose fish roe fair, 1 chose whitebait, poor, no fish just batter, For mains, we chose mussels & risotto, both good but small portions plus 1 monkfish & 1 cod & chips both of which were inedible due to being completely over-salted. We flagged this up to the waitress at the time, bill arrived at full price. We queried & 10% was deducted. All in all a poor experience, service passable but have had far better, food totally inadequate for price, bill £190.00 for 4 including bottle of wine & 4 beers, will not be returning or recommending

42nd Anniversary lunch was excellent. Started with a very nice chilled Cava. The crab starter and beetroot infused smoke salmon were a big hit, as were the main course of lobster and Lemon Sole (perfectly cooked).. Nice vibe about the place with good service. Desserts of Pavlova and Chocolate Ganache were a good effort but shows a lack of real patisserie knowledge. Overall though a 5 out of 5, because what we went in for (the fish) was outstanding. £145 inc tea and coffee not service charge was amazing value. I would highly recommend a visit.

Four of us enjoyed a superb fishy lunch. Really good range of fish cooked and presented superbly. We will be back! For some bizarre reason TripAdvisor insist that reviews must be at least 100 characters. Trust this covers it!

We loved the decor. Had great expectations about the food, which were only partially met - everything was tasty enough but a lot of it just did not sing … Whitebait was good, focaccia was nice, cod in vodka batter was not too bad, either. The service, however, was delightfully inefficient at times, but you just had to smile and forgive the staff as they were pleasant. It was not even that busy, it did not seem, and it kind of reminded me of what may happen in my kitchen when I’m entertaining, running late and cutting corners to feed a group of friends. Tartare sauce for the fish and chips only arrived when half of it was consumed, as indeed did the glass of red wine ordered to accompany the steak. The steak special was to come with fries, chard and salsa verde, medium rare. It came rather well done, with fried potatoes, grilled padrones peppers and smidget of chopped parsley condiment warmed up by the resting steak. Salsa verde it was not, or at least not as I know it. The funny thing was that everybody was informed no pave potatoes were available on the day but I think this was what I got with my main - instead of fries that I ordered… As for puddings, out of 4 strong list, we ordered one - chocolate ganache with berries and honeycomb. Well, they were out of honeycomb, they said but extra berries will come - 5 exactly. Ganache was good! So I wish them well and hope they can carry on cooking good food and not cut corners and get the service more in tune - because we want to go back!

Informal atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff and a great menu, not overpriced. The raw oysters were huge, which is not always commensurate with quality but here they were really delicious. Sadly not sourced locally but coming not that far from Maldon. The calamari were tasty, prepared in a light batter. The seafood risotto had a rich flavour and was thick with a generous selection of mussels, prawns and white fish. Monkfish was cooked to perfection and accompanied with a lightly curried sauce. Excellent choice of desserts and a decent wine list. Nestling on the edge of Folkestone Harbour, this is a little gem with great food and reasonable prices.

First but not the last visit to this great restaurant. Super selection of delicious fish dishes to choose from. Predominately fish but also a couple of meat dishes. Lovely location, our table over looked the harbour. Service was excellent and overall good value for money.

We came here for Lunch on a Sunday. The food is the best we have had. Delicious fresh fish, beautifully presented, along with fantastic friendly service and a warm inviting interior overlooking the harbour. Thank you, this is my favourite place so far.

Not sure where you would place the style of the food in this restaurant, not British or Parisian, but perhaps in the Mediterranean closer to Morocco, strong seasoning and flavours. King Scallops (menu description) served with Chorizo & Capers, small scallops over seasoned in their shell, Fish Soup good flavour with pieces of fish, Monkfish & Mussels very well seasoned, white bean sauce and Calvanero excellent, Cod & Chorizo ample portion of Cod, small wine list, lack lustre front of house

The London and Paris restaurant, in an evocative 1850s building by the harbour, has been open for a few months and this was our first visit. It definitely won't be the last! This is classy, inventive cooking, with some genuinely inspired moments. My smoked burrata starter and seafood broth main course, in particular, were standouts, beautifully conceived and executed. My husband, who had fish and chips, was enthused by the quality of the fish and the unusual batter, which contained beer and vodka (sounds unlikely, but it worked!) There are some nice small touches, as well, like the sourdough with seaweed butter brought to the table on arrival. The wine list is enticing, with some interesting and unobvious Italian choices by the bottle, and a decent selection of wines by the glass or carafe. The restaurant was pretty empty when we were there, but we've seen it packed; it's definitely advisable to book. On today's evidence, I would place it among Folkestone's best restaurants, on a par with Rocksalt and second only to the magnificent Restaurant MS.

AMAZING!!!! The interior design is stunning, we wanted to take it home, we were transported to chic Paris immediately! The kitchen is to die for and hub wanted to take that home too. The servers were welcoming & friendly and knew their stuff. The menu looked good but the food surpassed it's description by miles. So many restaurants talk their food up and often it is a disappointment. When we found out what was planned for the future, I said, "I do hope they give Rock Salt a run for their money", well tick that box about 5 times!!! We had a large vodka, soda, lager, a bottle of wine, 5 courses between us, 2 amanacs and the bill was £100. We had a complimentary bread and seaweed butter, yum. I had the HUGE smoked prawns x 5, then the seabass with a croquette of beef, pave potatoes, rainbow chard and a sauce. It was incredible. Hub had mackrell pate then the moules in a gorgeous sauce which we didn't know what it was but it had lovage in it. I had the ganache with homemade honeycomb for pud. I never eat a pudding!! Hub said it was gorgeous too. The whole experience was amazing. We regularly go to their other restaurants but this is the jewel in the crown.

It is an old Victorian Hotel / Restaurant that has been sympathetically renovated to provide a charming set for the excellent food that they serve. Views out of the window are of the inner harbour which is why we booked lunch. Firstly we shared a starter of smoked jumbo prawns - 5 served cold with a delightful dip and hot bread. My wife had muscles in cider and cream and sapphire and capers and loved it. I had a substantial slab of hake on a Romesco sauce and kale which was gorgeous. The service was excellent and the prices were consistent with other restaurants in town despite being of obvious higher echelon.

So pleased to have found this restaurant and can’t wait to return. The standard of food was outstanding . We had mackerel pate, fish bisque, chicken with charred leeks, halibut with mussels, morels and kale , and chocolate orange fondant. Every dish was exceptionally good. We loved the decor and our waitress Chloe1 was so helpful. Our new favourite in Folkestone

This restaurant is superb. The quality of the food and cooking is excellent. We all agreed it was the best meal we had eaten this year. The Peach notes from the Terlingham Bacchus complemented the scallops and fish main courses. I cannot speak highly enough about this restaurant. What a find. What a gem.

We had an amazing evening here with friends. Great food, wonderful atmosphere and the transformation of the site is phenomenal. From starters to seafood to veggies to sides dishes the food was delicious. Modern cooking that is easy-going and elegant at the same time Service was professional and friendly. We though that the whole experience was value for money, and will be back. I didn't manage to capture all the dishes, I know I missed my Shellfish Broth which was full of flavour, with a balance of the sweet seafood, smokiness and spiciness.

Visited for a family birthday love the restaurants in this group. Arrived for our reservation and were slightly ignored before being greeted. Table was a strange wide semicircle which meant I was a long way from my wife. Decor nice but I thought the industrial spotlights in the room were incongruous. Ordered and was given some free bread which was nice. Starters arrived fairly quickly but they were cold assemblies. We then waited quite a long time for the mains too long really and had to wait longer for the jus for my fish dish and the fries for another dish. The food was really nice perfectly cooked and delicous although nobody asked if we were happy. Pudding menus were provided luckily we didn't want one as nobody came to ask. Felt they were short staffed on the night. It is a pretty noisy venue so not for us. Harbour Inn next time

Based on reviews we had fish and chips from here and it was stunning. Properly done chips, gorgeous fresh fish done with a delicious light and crispy batter, and believe me when I say that I'm really fussy, so it must be good! And on top of that a group of happy and helpful staff, well done.
