Good Friday 2024 had a large order. Phoned it in. Little waiting. Piping hot. Good crispy batter. Plenty food per portion. Not greasy. By far best chippy in South East and I've been to so many. Cost is cheaper than other venues and portions are generous. Dependable for good food .

Best chip shop in Folkestone. We always go here and keep going back, have tried most of the chip shops in Folkestone but the Seafarer is still our favourite The top things they do better than everyone else: 1. Good sized portions of a very nice curry sauce and not in tiny cups. 2. Prices are very good for portion sizes compared to other shops, we are always full after eating here. 3. The food always come out nicely cooked and crisp batter and always hot, and never too greasy. 4. The staff practice good hygeine (always using ppe) and the shop is nice and clean whenever we have been. Highly reccomended.

Well we have tried seafarer for the very last time we have had fish and chips from there when we have been in Folkestone as they were recommended about three years ago and back then they were good but the last couple of times we have been very disappointed with certainly the quality of the chips they are very thin and too crispy to eat most of them and the fish was on the dry side so can’t afford to throw any more money there way which is a shame

Have had very good English fish and chips served with salt and vinegar. Yummy- always a highlight of our journeys to the UK. Although we have just had the "paper-pound", the owner offered us a change. This we felt was extremely helpful and kind. Thanks again!

Without a doubt, the best fish n chips in Folkestone. Forget those trendy places down by the harbour, in 5 years of going to the Seafarer I've not had one bad order. The fact that it's so popular means that you can walk in and with a simple order of cod n chips, get served instantly, and you know the fish has barely had time to sit under the lights before it's lovingly placed in the box, and straight into your hands. I'll never go anywhere else for my fish n chip fix.

We ordered fish and chips for 2 on Sat 8th July at 6.00. They were awful - dried up overcooked fish and soggy chips!!! I don't understand what has gone wrong with this business - this use to be the best fish and chips in town. I feel annoyed to have wasted my money although we have been offered a free meal. Not really the point we would have liked it cooked well in the first place. Will look for another "chip shop"

One word, Superb. I moved from Yorkshire last year and found this gem, great food, great portions. No more to be said.

Ordered fish n chips around 6pm on a Saturday night expecting it to be hot and nice and fresh. The fish was dry and so were the chips. Clearly been sitting there for a while. Really disappointing as always used to be the best round and the prices have gone up a lot but that is the same everywhere!

Mild misunderstanding with what we ordered, They fixed the issue quickly and moved on, 10/10 service, great portions, great food, great price (alot of value for money)

Sitting here still waiting for my order from 2 hours ago! All they say is it's not their problem it's just eat, so even if by some miracle I do get my food it was cooked over 2 hours ago, great!!!!!!!! Discussing attitude with no intention to help, just blame someone else, great business model!!!!!!

I come all the way from London just for these! Genuinely the best I’ve ever had in life. Fresh quality of food. The kind owner is another bonus to visit the store! Lovely store with lovely people . Great value for the price.

We have few take aways but always know we can rely on The Seafarer for great fish and chips. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food is always freshly cooked, a decent sized portion and good value.

Waited age's for food Uber drivers got priority and there local mates. Food was good apart from the spring roll which was a Iceland special very bad avoid going to think about going elsewhere in future as normally good but this experience is substandard

I was an employee at the seafarer for a few months and I have to say that it was a great place to work. Everyone was friendly and the boss was always willing to help out when I needed it. The burgers were always fresh and delicious, and the customers were always happy. The hours were flexible and I was able to adjust my hours to fit my schedule. I really enjoyed my time at the burger shop and would recommend it to anyone looking for a job in the food industry.

Lovely, freshly cooked, hot food and good portion sizes - the best chippy in Folkestone. My only criticism is that, out of the 7 or 8 staff behind the counter, not one of them smiled at a customer - even once - (although they were laughing and joking amongst themselves).

Great fish 'n' chips. Good service from cheerful, polite & friendly staff. Found on the main road, it's very difficult for parking, but there's always the B.P. Garage across the road, which could offer something to drink & dessert. Update for 2022 still a great chippy. The best I think in this area. However have noted the owners/seniors on duty seem to get at the junior staff. Makes me feel uncomfortable. So lighten up those in charge!!!

Freshly cooked plaice, a mountain of chips. Excellent value. Yes you might have to wait 10 minutes for it to be cooked, but well worth the wait. Highly recommended.

just had fish & chips and a burger, fish was average, chips were poor and cold.Burger just plain with no extras,not what I expected, staff busy talking to each other. would have liked my money back but cannot contact on-line

Called here after a journey on the Chunnel over from Disneyland Paris... Read the great reviews on Google and decided to give it a whirl for a late bite to eat.. Staff were friendly & funny, food was super fresh, and very tasty. We have an award winning chippy by us in North Wales, so to match that takes some doing...but it did.. Great chippy, go grab a tasty treat..

I have been going to The Seafarer for sometime and always very happy with service and food but tonight it all went very wrong both my son's and my fish was very dry and tasteless I did let them know that we were disappointed but I felt an apology was not enough as it is no longer a cheap meal. It seems the delivery bikers have taken over which means that quality and service are no longer available for the regular customers I shall definitely be looking elsewhere

Bought haddock and fish for family. All haddock was so thin, we could only taste the batter. Feel conned, given each fish cost £5.75 that was smothered in batter. The £3.24 charges (£2.49 and 0.75 service) were ridiculous. The chips felt insignificant without fish that could be tasted. Batter went to the seagulls.
