Absolutely love this place. We had our works do there and the seafood platters are so well presented and the food is really fresh. Alison the owner and her lovely daughters need to pat themselves on the back. Nothing was too much trouble the train carriage you sit in is really different, warm and the decor is very tasteful. One of our party didn’t eat seafood so she had the steak, great value for money and cooked too perfection. Will definitely be back.

We booked a table for 4 in the number3 railway carriage which was very cosy. With the table alongside the window, it gave us a lovely view across the sea. We ordered the seafood boil,hot platter and lobster thermidor and were told it was a lot of food for 4 people. This was true but we finished every course. Every morsel was cooked to perfection and being a “Foodie”I was in food heaven. Having dined at many great seafood restaurant eg Rick Stein’s, I was delighted and surprised that the quality was of this high level. The seafood was absolutely delicious. In addition, their wine list included many classic English wines. The service from Jess and Connie was top notch and with Mum cooking in the kitchen, they are a fabulous team.

Had such a lovely evening here with my husband. Beautiful view, delicious locally sourced food and wonderful service by the mother and daughters team. Highly recommended!!

Very disappointed in their customer service! I booked a table for two online at about 5:50pm Saturday evening for the following day, Sunday 3rd November, a deposit of £20 was paid (I was aware that this couldn’t be cancelled as all cancellations needed to be made before 4:30pm the day before your booking and I’d booked after this time) what I hadn’t realised is my family had already arranged a surprise meal elsewhere. I could not find a telephone number for Ss Ss, the only form of communication seems to be by email - I emailed them literally 15 minutes after making the booking, explaining what had happened and asking if the booking could be transferred to the Monday (today 4th November) I did not receive a reply so emailed again yesterday morning! Still no reply ( booking reference was provided on both my emails) So I guess I have now lost my £20 and they have now lost a customer. NOTE when you book they give you a 10 minute period of grace (if you’re running late) and cannot guarantee you will have your table after this time, unless you contact them which I have now discovered is not possible. Really disappointed as i have been there before and the food was delicious, but this experience will put me off going again :(

Fantastic little place. Such a great setting. The food was brilliant and reasonable. The staff were very helpful.

I waited 30 minutes for someone to take my order, with the staff ignoring customers and tables left uncleared. After finally placing my order, another 30 minutes passed with no food or drink arriving. When I asked about my water, I noticed the table next to me, who ordered later, was already being served. The waiter disappeared without resolving anything, and five minutes later, a waitress I hadn’t spoken to before told me there was no record of my order—and added that it was my fault for not reminding the team I was waiting for my food! I was one of 3 tables at time, it was impossible not to notice my table was empty.

This is incredible , we are celebrating a birthday and this has been perfect!!! Gorgeous wine, the absolute BEST seafood I’ve had for a very long time. Service brilliant and friendly… don’t miss out!!! Be back at the weekend!!!

Booked for an evening outwith friends, easy to book, even though their booking system over booked, rang and still got us in. Excellent customer service, we had to wait while our table was prepared, but was welcomed given somewhere to wait , menus given and our drinks brought to us. Every member of staff was polite, enthusiastic and obviously loved where they worked. All menu options were explained and shown quickly to our table. Beautiful setting, warm, great background music and great views. We went for the hot sharing platter, superb choice. All the food was beautifully presented and fairly quickly brought out. Have to say the food was some of the best we have eaten in a very long tome. Everyone enjoyed the food, excellently cooked, fresh and delicious. Would highly recommend this venue and we will be returning very soon. Even had a lovely chat with our servers, went and thanked the chef too. Do not miss out, this is a gem of a plaice.

Had moule mariniere (without cream, no issue with request) excellent well prepared and cooked. Recommend visit for fresh local caught seafood.

Excellent food and excellent pricing. Great selection of mussels. Risotto was just ok, so skip that and get other items. Steak was enjoyed by one in our party as well.

I come here once a year and they serve the best Moules Frites. You are in for a treat at the end if you get the bread that you can dip in the sauce. Also definitely get fries!

A friend recommended Shesells Seashells so we went. We didn’t book which wasn’t an issue as there’s plenty of outside seating. We ordered the hot seafood sharing platter. It was outstanding, more than enough for two, We ploughed our way though it, mussels, Calamari, squid, scampi and the biggest crevettes Pius Mac m cheese, fries and two large chuncks of bread. Perfectly cooked and nice and hot. The service was spot on, attentive but not in your face. Our waitress pop over several times To make sure we were ok and if we needed anything else. I’d advise to book if you want to guarantee a table inside. We sat outside, with a lovely view of the harbour and the sands. It was a bit windy but we were given blankets just in case we got cold. We’ll be going back again and again until we’ve gone through the whole menu

Been a fan of this restaurant for the past few years. Good local produce, the seafood is the best anywhere. Fabulous setting especially when the sun is out. Can't want for more.

I ordered the hot platter and seafood linguine, and the boss also recommended the Thai mussels. It's really delicious, much better than the large seafood platter recommended by Xiaohongshu, especially the Thai mussels, which are super fresh and don't have any fishy smell at all. The only drawback is that the food is served a bit slowly, the kitchen is too small, and there are many guests. It is understandable that I miss it when I return to London.

Lovely idea in terms of the little train 'cabin' dining cars. Good service, and friendly competent staff. We had the hot platter. It was mostly fine. The seafood mac and cheese was nice and so was the salt and pepper squid, although the latter was the kind of breaded seafood you can get out of the freezer cabinet at Aldi. The main issue was that we didn't like the moules mariniere. We kind of came for the moules hoping these would be super fresh, but they weren't. I know we have had trouble with water quality in the UK (because companies flush poop into the sea), but I am not sure that that is a satisfactory explanation for the fact that some of our moules had a slightly 'manure' flavour. We didn't end up finishing the dish we had been most looking forward to. And it was meant to be a special birthday treat. Disappointed

We had the hot seafood platter and it was amazing, this is the 2nd time we have been here, both times have been exceptional. This is our favourite place to eat in Folkestone. We will definitely return and recommend to everyone. Apart from the food being outstanding, the staff are sooooooo nice. We love them. So attentive, friendly polite, professional and above all lovely, lovely people.

Old railway carriages next to the old station, still using the platforms. To windy to use the front outdoor seating so sat in one of the carriages. This was beautiful but turned out to be a little warm. Eventually Goldilocks and myself settled at a table on the platform sheltered by the carriages and with a roof. This was delightful. The service was amazing and attentive at all times, the food and wine ( much of which is local) was imaginative and served with passion. Mum is the cook and both daughters look after front of house. So good to see a family business thriving. This is not a cheap eats venue it is a good food destination. Great for a special occasion. High on our list for a repeat visit next time we venture down from Northamptonshite.

Visited last year and couldn’t get a reservation so determined to visit this year- it didn’t disappoint! A very wet day meant we had a carriage to ourself which only added to the romantic experience. The food was amazing and the local wine choices even better.

Today we have a bad experience here, the staff it was so rude with us and the food was horrible 🤮🤮🤮plus the smell 🤢🤢🤢 Later edit after the rude owner responded to my review because he doesn’t like negative feedbacks NO, I DIDN’T EAT ALL AS YOU SAID AS THAT WAS NOT FOOD TO BE EATEN AND I LEFT EVERYTHING IN THE PLATE!

Fell in love with this restaurant from the very first bite! Its selection of seafood is simply mesmerizing – every piece was amazingly fresh and flavorful. The waitstaff were not only very polite but also experts in their craft, which added a special charm to our evening. The atmosphere in the restaurant is simply magical – it evokes feelings of coziness and luxury. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone who values true quality and unforgettable experiences!

This an excellent and truly huge benefit to Folkestone! We have eaten inside the train carriage, which turned out to a great experience, and more informally on Monday 8th April. Huge compliments to the family team, who provide simple, good value and top class food, we enjoyed shell in prawns, steeped in chilli, garlic and herbs, salad, chips with bread….superb! Highly recommended

What a cracking place - proper little gem. The food is amazing - I had Thai mussels and the Mrs had Crab salad . The mussels were the best I’ve ever had .Big thanks to the Seashells team . All served in a funky railway carriage - Get booked in you won’t be disappointed.

We ordered Mussels with wine and chorizo broth, and Lobster. They tastes so delicious. And the whole experience is enhanced by an epic sea view.

Regularly drive from London just to come here. Seafood Paradise. Always exception quality & service. Fantastic wine list. Best in the south of England.

Very good food and atmosphere, just be aware that the restaurant have a service fee of 4pounds which you pay of the top off your bill 💵.

Staff were great, food was delicious. Ordered the crab cold platter and hot platter would recommend both. Would like nicer bread and butter/olive oil served with it. Great restaraunt 😋

We had a warm seafood platter to share for 2 people and it was quite a lot of food. We had a full portion of mussels which were one of the best i ever had. The prawns in the sause were sublime. Was not too impressed by the 🦀crab mac and cheese but I guess it's just a very British thing...

Best mussels we have ever had. Fabulous prawns. £45 sharing platter worth every single penny… we loved it. Only downfall.. we live in Sheffield and go home tomorrow 🙁

Superb!! Stumbled on this whilst strolling on the Harbour front- behind the modest exterior, SheSells Seashells is a gem of a find. Had the Thai style and they were the tastiest mussels I have ever had, packed with flavour. Washed it down with a local Kent ale. Would highly recommend a day trip from London for this place, for a meal that's better than most re mussels, and half the price - the chef is a genius with flavours, friendly service and a lovely setting on a sunny evening....perfect!

Massively over priced just realised I was charged £40+ for 2 mussels and 2 chips......chips sold separately. Go Dutch 2 min walk away exact same menu and do mussels chips and bread for 13.50 a portion!!!! Honestly feel like I got robbed eating here. It's a shame because the food is good , i just don't understand why its double the price it used to be. Definitely won't be paying that again.

We had a lovely meal at this quirky restaurant yesterday. I had crab risotto and my husband had moules! Lovely glass of English wine not overpriced. All very fresh and delicious. Staff (I understand this young lady runs it with her mum) was very obliging and when the diners left who were next to the window offered to move us for a better view nothing was too much trouble. I imagine it would be very busy in the summer but there was a lot of outdoor seating. Will definitely be visiting again.

Lovely little spot in Harbour Arms with excellent seafood and local wines. Very attentive service in a cozy 100-year-old train car with a gorgeous view. Definitely reserve a table in advance!

Went here for lunch today. Truly a lovely space with a gorgeous view. Lunch was excellent, service top notch. Definitely a recommendation.

This was our third visit. Had an incredible lunch of green mussels followed by lobster Thermador, salad and truffle chips in the cosy old school train carriage with a wonderful view of the sea. Food is excellent and the staff are lovely. For warmer weather there's plenty of outside seating on the harbour arm. All seating is wooden benches in case this is not your thing. Highly recommend a visit.

Having dinner in a train carriage with lovely local wine and great food. Our son Zack was a fan and rated 5 stars shutout hesitating. Accommodating with kids and the best customer service. 😁

She Sells Stale Sourdough. Nice mussels, sourdough stale and rock hard. Staff attitude appalling when this was mentioned to them. Plenty of other good places to eat o Folkestone with well trained, polite staff, try one of them.

An absolute gem of a find,with out doubt the best quality shell fish platter I have had,please please have the truffle fries,and the locally supplied wine recommended to us was a perfect accompaniment,the staff were genuinely attentive and polite,we couldn’t recommend this charming little restaurant enough and can’t wait to return

We had the dressed crab seafood platter & it was sublime. The potted shrimp in particular was fantastic. So fresh and well presented with great attention to detail (down to the fish plates & serving mayo on a shell.) We also had the truffle fries which were heavenly. Really good value for money and the service was friendly and attentive. Lovely sea view to top it off. Can't wait to go back and try the flavoured moules.

My boyfriend and I had the loveliest eve here. Food was delicious & generous, and atmosphere was so relaxing & intimate. Would definitely recommend, as well as Conny being just great at looking after us!!
