D'Agostini's Fish and Chips in Shepway

The best fish and chip shop ever, called in on the way home and had mini fish and chips for tea tonight and it was fantastic. I always go here, have tried other places but this beats them all and will not go to any other fish and chip shop. Looking forward to my next visit.

I need to eat gluten free and so I tried D’Agostini’s, it was tasty and safe for me to eat. I intend to get food from there many times in the future.

Coming home after a long day in London we decided to give D’Agostini’s a try. Normally we use a different place but quite a few friends had commented on D’Agostini’s so it was a good chance to put it to the test. I’m delighted to say it was every bit as good as people had been telling us. The batter was light and crispy, nothing was greasy. Incredibly generous portions and everyone tucked in happily. It will be our go to fish and chip shop from now on.

First visit to this chippy because of all the excellent reviews, the initial impressions were good as very clean and the staff friendly; however, the fish & chips were pretty disappointing. The batter was too heavy, laying flat to the fish not light and crispy as expecting from other reviews, the chips were cut a little too thin and could have been cooked just a little longer. To top it off the prices were a little higher than other chippies and if you wanted a box you have to pay for it, these are free in other chippies.

A good place to go with a very high score. Good service. Very clean. This has been in Folkestone since 1974. I have been here two years longer. It's on the corner. Nice tiles. Opening times are good.

Lovely food, always perfectly cooked! This family run fish and chip shop is where my family and I regularly go when we want a fish supper. Its very clean and friendly and the food is always faultless.

After trying them all I am qualified to pronounce D'Agostinis the best Chippie in Folkestone. Away from the Seafront this Chippie relys mainly on local trade, with a good turnover batter is always crisp and chips nice n fresh.

Delicious food and exceptionally clean premises, we had the cod the batter was light and crispy and the cod fell apart- delicious

this is one of my favourite places to go for fish and chips. the service is always friendly and the food is excellent

Been here many times over the years however it is hit or miss if we enjoy it or notChips can be very soggy and clumped in a ball on the few occasions we have recently been here the chip quality has improved and they are more crispy and not soggyStaff are always friendly can feel they are on their best behaviour as the owner appears to be very strict- not Necessarily a negative point though.

Best fish and chip shop around! Becca behind the counter informed me that they do gluten free battered cod, not only did it taste amazing but the portion size is great. Accommodating to gluten intolerance which will be making me a regular here! Thank you

Lived in Folkestone over 7 years and tried all the other fish and chip shops. Many times I have been disappointed. I've found a few fairly good ones, but this has to be the best so far. The huss was just right and today's plaice was perfect. I have yet to try the squid and will update when I have.

We frequently visit this fish and chip shop- the shop is extremely clean and welcoming the staff are attentive and friendly and the chips are very tasty! Highly recommended!

Never a bad meal from this long established family run chip shop! Food is freshly cooked and piping hot. Our group had sausage and chips, burger and chips and one of us has special dietary needs for gluten free batter on fish which can be catered for. Always a friendly service, prices are competitive we can not recommend this highly enough. This is the "Plaice" to go for your chip shop needs :-)

Love this place! Best fish and chips! Always so clean, food is never a disappointment. The chips are cooked to perfection as well. Owner is always nice and so are the others that work in the shop. Always recommend people to come here with plenty of choice to choose from the good priced menu... 5/5!

Never had a bad meal from here and the fish is always cooked perfectly, white and moist with crispy batter that does not overwhelm the fish. Chips perfect in colour and exquisite to taste. Best fish and chips around.

Finally, finally found a good chip shop in Folkestone...now that papas has gone downhill and the little fish and chips staff have got bad attitude towards customers we decided to give this shop a try. Thank god we did but shame we left it so long. The food is amazing and always cooked fresh for you. The girls that take your orders are always friendly and helpful and the gent that owns it is very pleasant too. This will now be our chip shop of choice and its easy to see why its lasted so long in Folkestone. Definitely go there if you like great tasting food and good value for your money.

look no further if you want really fresh fish and chips cooked to order this is the place to get them from. always does a brisk trade especially on friday nights. we usually have the haddock and chips or cod and chips lovely crisp batter and well cooked chips its not a restaurant but a normal fish and chip shop where you take them out or home

Just after Xmas we went here for a takeaway, only the second time of using this fish bar. Gotta say appearance wise it's bright and clean. The girls on the front bar was very friendly which always helps. Whilst waiting for my order, I read an article, about the fish shop, stating how good it was... My basic order of fish and chips was superb, tasted nice, good portions and not greasy. But I also added a small battered sausage, unfortunately this was awful, cooked previously, and just sat there... I went to bit it and it was rock hard, really put me off my food. Such a shame as the mains was superb. Moral of my storey don't order any extra..... I will return for fish that's cooked to order

Have always found the quality is good. Staff are friendly. Shame no tables to sit in otherwise 5 star.
