Ocean Fish And Chips in Tunbridge Wells

pre-ordered fish and chips for 30 as supper for a wedding reception. Absolutely SUPERB!!! .... Checked with us that we still needed 30 changed it to 26 and 2 chicken nuggets when we arrived at the appointed time they were just finishing wrapping the last few. Gave us advice re not leaving them wrapped very long as would lose crispness, asked if we need salt,pepper,vinegar etc. We were only a short drive away in Pembury and had 4 people ready to help with distribution ..result hot crisp fish and chips that was DEMOLISHED with relish especially by our guests from abroad who were delighted to have an authentic English fish and chips. Only word of warning ..the portions are GENEROUS ! People said they couldn't move but couldn't bear to leave it

Can't fault the place, food is always good staff friendly, place is clean and welcoming use it regularly, if it's open today ( Easter bank Holiday Monday) that's dinner sorted.

Having had unexpected guests, we had not time to prepare dinner at home. I called Ocean Fish and chips and ordered some food. Arrived to pick it up 10 minutes later and was welcomed as usual. Short pleasant chat with staff and arrived home in 10 minutes. Food was still hot and all very tasty in front of a warm fire . We use this chippy at least once amonth and have never had a bad meal.

Unfortunately the fish in this take out is not good. I have tried the place a number of times as it is the closest and the fish is always very dry. Has it been frozen too long? it does not seem fresh. Go the extra couple of mile and go to an excellent f& c bar in tunbridge wells.

We have been a long good customer,for many years, but of late the fish is not firm it’s as if it’s been defrosted in the fryer or so. The last time we had fish and chips, the three of us had the runs all night, so we don’t use it any more.

Great value tasty fish n chips. Always quick and efficient service too. Friendly bunch in the shop and will take phone orders for collection. Fish tastes great & is cooked v carefully. In terms of choice I would prefer to see sustainable alternatives on the menu. Would recommend.

The kids meals are very good value - all come with a drink too. Fish is well cooked and they offer a variety of other options (Southern Fried Chicken, burgers, pies etc). Friendly staff too

The ocean fish and chip take away does what it says on the tin. The restaurant offers good quality fish and chips to take away. Be prepared for a wait as most fish is cooked to order.

If I had been blindfolded I would have had NO idea what I was eating. The cod was extremely dry and tasteless and presumably frozen? The batter was chewy and not crisp. The chips were also tasteless and not crisp. In other words,a complete waste of £11.10! (for 2 people)

Can't fault staff very good prompt service can be busy at times but it's worth the wait clean high hygiene rating

Wow! The best fish, chips and battered sausage the family have had in a while! Friendly service, decent portions and piping hot, will definitely be revisiting when we're in the area again.

Good little fish and chip shop, there's not a lot to say really. Fresh cooked chips maybe could have done with another minute or two in the fryer, but that's jut me not picking. Fish was really nice. Go there and enjoy!

Fast and friendly service on a saturday night. Large poertions freshly coojed to order. Clean and tidy. Seemed very well run as wsx crouded but we only waited fice muinetes We will be back

Mi marido y yo habíamos estado trabajando, y caminar fuera todo el día, nos estaban fríos y cansado, y estábamos buscando una cena en el restaurante, nos vimos océano pescado y patatas fritas y nos fuimos con la intención de llegar a llevar, pedimos pescado, patatas fritas y blanda guisantes, y nos dimos cuenta de que había mesas disponibles para sentarse y comer o cenar allí. La chica detrás de la barra, y el cocinero era muy amable y servicial, y nos trajo cuchillos y tenedores y platos, y algunas salsas, y teníamos el más delicioso pescado y patatas fritas que habíamos comido por un tiempo muy largo, sentados en la cálida encantadora cafetería. No podíamos haber elegido en ningún lugar mejor. Gracias al Ocean pescado y patatas fritas, espero que pasará por el camino algún día.

Este lugar fue recomendado por familiares que estaba con . pescado ordenados y patatas fritas para cinco . muy generosa ayuda de patatas fritas y pescado bueno visualmente. Bien, ¿qué puedo decir?, el pescado mejor degustación (& pasta preciosa) que he tenido en mucho tiempo y patatas fritas sabía muy bien también. Excelente relación calidad-precio y volveremos cuando esté en la zona. Recomendaría este lugar

Este es el "fish and chips" y en mi opinión sirven el mejor pescado por aquí. El personal es siempre amable y alegre, y el lugar siempre está lleno de clientes. Prueba a la mente que son buenos. Hay un restaurante al lado pero no utilizado.

We visited this unpretentious fish and chip shop by recomendation and were pleased that we had.You can eat in or take away if you wish. We ate in. The eating area is basic but clean.There is a menu of traditional dare including a wonderful OAP option which includes a cup of tea, all for seven pounds, brilliant.I had a large cod and chips with mushy peas. Enormous but well cooked, not greasy at all, lovely.The staff were very friendly and we would recommend this establishment to anyone who fancies a basic, quality meal at a good price. Well done to our hosts!

I think best Fish & chips nearby. Very busy on Fridays which means quite often you have to wait for fish to be cooked, which I like as much fresher than fish sitting warm. Portions very generous and we always have clean plates. I normally buy one less portion and share with my son, (8) which is more than enough for us.

We don't have fish and chips that often, but when we do we always enjoy it from here.The fish is freshly cooked so piping hot, and still hot when you get home. It is not too greasy either. You can eat in if you like, in the café attached the shop, but I like to eat mine at home.Staff are friendly and efficient.

To be honest we don't have fish and chips that often, but for a change when the family visited thought we'd give it go.Must say everything was fresh, hot and tasty.

I’ve been going to Ocean most weeks, for years. Occasionally I’m tempted to try one of the other chip shops that are nearer to my house but invariably they are not nearly as good so the nearly 10 mile round trip is worth it.The fish is always freshly cooked and never re-heated or left on display for hours as some do. A large cod or haddock is simply huge almost too big to carry.They did go through a rough patch a while ago, when the curry sauce was a bit mild, but that has now been fixed. Sometimes they do battered mushrooms – very good.I’ve never used their sit down restaurant, but have seen others do so, and like the rest of the place is always clean and tidy.

One day I was told to go up the fish and chip shop to go get some dinner which I was very happy about as from past experience it has been lovely meals and excellent service,well that all changed today. I went up there and asked for a batterd jumbo sausage large chips and a ginger beer and the person serving me said chicken and mushroom pie? I then had to repeat the order again and while I was doing that the other workers just giggled at me cause of my voice. Anyway the food was great but service horrible!!!!

Visited after reading previous reviews on TripAdviser.In my opinion, its the best F&C in the Tunbridge Wells area. I have tried others but this one is tops so far. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

I went to go get fish and chips with my sister as i usually do. The service was great and as usual the food was up to its brilliant standard. The only problem was that they had run out of Dr Pepper

I use this shop as often as i can, having a business in the village makes it an easy destination.Fresh, clean, smiling faces and because cooked fresh time for a pint in the black horse next door.Living the dream........

excellent fish cooked to perfection, mushy peas wonderful and the chips could eat and eat all day will most certainly have fish and chips from there again.

In our experience - the fish and chip shop in Pembury sells great quality fish and chips and the service is great. You may need to queue out of the door at busy times, but that is what you get for being served fresh food that is so popular. Do not be put off if you have to wait ten minutes, it will be worth it. And if you are that worried, book in advance, they will have your food ready!There is also a seated area next to the take away, looks like a nice place to sit in, and perhaps for a fish and chip party!

This is my local F+C shop and I cannot fault it. It's spotlessly clean, the service is efficient and friendly, the food is of great quality and the portions are generous. All in all - perfect!
