I usually go to Wights for fish and chips as they are excellent. However, due to upgrading, I found they were closed. The nearest fish and chip shop was Tony’s.So I thought I would give them a try.Unfortunately, due to the ridiculously small portions,I won’t be going back.I don’t see how they could charge so much for about a dozen or so chips.I had to pay an extra £2 to get enough for two people.Wights are always excellent and not swamped in grease like Tony’s.Shame.

Went today to buy fish and chips takeaway. Been going for over six months regularly. For some reason today my visit made them start cackling, laughing, whispering to each other, and the "chef" gesticulating in my direction and speaking in another language or indistinctly. Well, that's the last they will see of this regular, cash-paying customer. That's what happens when you make a customer the BUTT of your jokes. Oh, and the chips were soggy.

We had the best meal in a very long time at Dory’s, a tiny restaurant/bar, recommended by our hotel. There are a couple of tables, but most seats are bar stools - ours overlooked the kitchen and the chef was very chatty. Every mouthful was a pleasure. We particularly enjoyed hispi cabbage (charred with paprika, crème fraiche and almonds) and mackerel with thinly sliced courgette (apparently the last of the season). Even the bread and butter was exceptional! Sadly we don’t live in Margate, but this is somewhere worth travelling for.

The service was not great they forgot my starter because they were busy.so instead I went for dessert they gave us the menu and never came back.when we complained they sounded like they don't really care, could have knocked the service charge off but didn't.wont be back and will go to another turkish restaurant in town next time.

WARNIN. For the THIRD time on a SATURDAY in as many months the advertised OPENING TIMES times [both online & shop door - say Tues-Sat closing - first session - at 2.30pm] were not to be trusted. Each time I’ve got off work about 1.30, ready & willing to reach LJF by 2pm. Each time, right next to the opening times, has been s a note saying ‘WE ARE CLOSED’. So, CALL first! The current operation took over a couple of years ago from consistent, excellent [owner?] staff. In the new operations first year I was able to snag food, and the quality was fine, however, that’s no consolation. Won’t be trying to spend my money there again. Third time, & they’re out.
