Turkuaz Restaurant & Bar in Crawley

What an experience, half-expecting Ant & Dec to pop out and reveal it was all a prank and I had actually won a vacation. To begin with, the table they gave us was too small for our group. We had to request forks more than five times, and when my starter finally arrived after being initially forgotten, I had to eat it with my fingers. They forgot two main courses and took over 15 minutes to bring them out, one of which was incorrect, leaving one person to dine alone. The place resembled a construction site, and the air conditioner dripped water on us, giving us an unintended shower. When we complained, they merely sent out a belly dancer to distract us. Despite multiple complaints, they still slapped us with a £51 service charge.

We have been to Turkuaz several times for lunch and our meal is always excellent. The Turkish bread and dips are a wonderful start to the set meal. Portions are always good and it is nice to have vegetables or salad included in both starters and main courses. And to cap it all off, the pistachio baklavas with ice-cream are divine!

Went there with the family and was really impressed with the food quality and price . Staff was really friendly and everything deserves a 5 stars. Keep it up

Difficult to rate as mixed bag so 3.5, the positives, really lovely looking restaurant, lovely ambience, very well presented (loved the tablecloths!), great attentive, friendly staff, efficient too, belly dancer later on, fantastic at including everyone. Nothing to fault at all on this side of things. Food: little bit of a let down, again positives, very well presented, large portions, beautiful unlimited warm bread. Party of 4, two of us rated 7/10, (all of us said starters better than mains), two of us 6/10, halloumi starter excellent, mixed grill was enjoyed, the adana kebab and chicken beyti, we both felt was more meaty than made from minced lamb/chicken, and we didn't like this texture, as used to the latter. Chips werent great, quite heavy. Mains came out just as we had finished starters, so felt quite rushed, tho then we waited a long time for the bill, so woukd have preferred longer between courses. So very many positives about this place, if they just elevate the food slightly they'd have a 5. Well done to the excellent wait staff and your belly dancer!

5 of us visited on a saturday evening for dinner. The ambience was good, service was fine but my meal was disappointing: I chose the vegetarian mousaka which was not only bland but also not heated/cooked enough to be hot all the way through...perhaps re-heated in a microwave before being brought to the table...either way had it tasted better such that i wanted to finish the meal it would have had to go back to the kitchen to be properly heated through. To be fair the others at our table enjoyed their food. I didnt need to speak to the manager about such a basic mistake so left it with the waitress to let whoever is responsible know. I was surprised that no one referred to it again and was fully charged, including service, when the bill arrived. I wont be going there again...there being plenty of similar restaurants in the local area.

Absolutely love this please ! Been many times and it never disappoints . Food is incredible and portions are very generous . Staff are very polite , friendly and helpful . Overall amazing place to eat !

I had a very nice lunch at Turkuaz with my husband; I had a chicken shish with Pilau rice (made properly with saffron), salad and hummus, he had grilled salmon with mash and vegetables. I really enjoyed my meal and so did he. He was impressed with the huge size of the salmon fillet too. The wines were very nice, so was the coffee at the end. Turkuaz has a relaxed atmosphere at lunchtime, with Turkish music playing in the background. It was quiet at first but several families arrived later on, probably because people get up later on a Saturday. The staff were friendly and we were able to have a nice table by the window, even though it was for four people and there were just two of us. Would definitely go back again, at a similar time on a Saturday, before 1pm, so it's not too busy. Recommended.

Our first visit and it will not be our last. We came for my 14th/56th birthday on 29th Feb 2024. Friendly staff and delicious food and drinks. I recommend the hot sharing starter and the chicken shish main, with a couple of glasses of smooth Malbec. Delicious!! A lovely atmosphere, can't wait to bring g some more friends next time. We popped in for a quick lunch last week, and were shown the weekday lunch menu. Three courses for under £15 a head, is an absolute bargain. Our server was yasmine, who was attentive throughout our visit and a credit to the restaurant. The food was excellent and whilst the beer is a tad expensive I will definitely visit again.

We booked on the 13th online for the a Valentines meal at 17:30 the next evening. It was reassuringly busy with a lovely atmosphere in one of the older buildings in Crawley down the High St. we started off with a bottle of Pinot followed with Crispy king prawns with a mayo dip & Baked camembert with cranberry sauce (both with salad). For mains we had Lamb Sarma Beyti (minced lamb wrapped in flatbread with cheddar served with yoghurt) & I had fillet of Sea Bass with mashed potatoes with mixed veg - both were excellent & plentiful. The portions are pretty generous so we shared Baklava with ice cream then Turkish coffee. The staff were attentive & the overall experience was memorable - we will return, probably one lunchtime.

If heaven had a restaurant it would be Turkuaz. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. We didn’t have a booking but were lucky to be seated immediately even though it was busy. The freshest ingredients cooked to perfection. This is not our 1st visit and each time we enjoy ourselves more and more! Hard Grisly Fatty Lamb Shish. Ordered starter - perfect. Service - perfect. Main - No 7 Mixed Kebab. Chicken Shish, perfect & soft. Lamb Shish, hard fatty & grisly. Knife just about cut into it. Very hard. Had a couple bites full of fat. Put me off the lamb kofta. What started out to be a nice meal out became sour & wishes I never came here. The worst shish kebab I've ever had. When paying the prices you would expect soft lamb meat, not hard fatty grisly rubbish which should never be out on a dinner plate. Will never return to this restaurant. Should be ashamed of yourselves The worst shish kebab ever!

We went to Turkuaz Restaurant in Crawley to celebrate our son's 30th birthday. We had a lovely evening, great service, staff very welcoming and friendly. Food was delicious, the portions were generous and we all enjoyed our meals. Had such a lovely evening here catching up with a friend. The atmosphere and service were brilliant, and the food was incredible. We had the hummus, halloumi, crispy king prawns and garlic prawns to start (a lot for two, but everything on the menu looked incredible!), then goats cheese salad and chicken shish. I would happily order any of those dishes again and will be back to try more!

Fantastic authentic Turkish cuisine, in the Center of Crawley town. Beautiful food, very friendly staff and fantastic prices. We booked for 12 for a 30th birthday party and we enjoyed everything! Highly recommend, this could be my new favourite restaurant in town! 😋
