I have eaten a number of times in your restaurant. Love the music, the service and the food is amazing. I ordered it tonight for the first time through A delivery service. The salad and the potatoes great but the half chicken was inedible. So salty I could not begin to eat it and that much salt I would not give to my dog - awful . So disappointed as now have to order something edible from somewhere else .

Every food item was covered in spices, including the seasonal salad. And what's worse spices in the form of sauces, which I hate. There is absolutely no indication of spices in the description of the food items, nor the recipes.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. Dog bowls offered for water & our dogs dinner. Wines & beers explained. Questions on the menu answered clearly. Our waitress was attentive & chatty but not encroaching on our evening. The atmosphere was friendly & relaxing. However, & most importantly, the food was amazing! Honestly, it was the best chicken & sides we've had for a while. Plenty of food and no unwanted extras. (The 'Olds' really don't like the added salads etc). The food was well cooked, beautifully presented & very tasty. Indeed, we are all gutted that we don't live locally to enjoy this restaurant again in the near future. Also, what a fantastic idea to have a shared space - office by day & restaurant by night! An absolute gem. Well worth your custom!

I've been waiting to try this place for ages. The food options are limited but that ensures the best quality. I went for the nip for one and devils eggs to start. Nip for one half a lobster plus side. I went for the potatoes and they were fabulous especially with the house sauce. It looked so good I couldn't wait to take a before pic... The devils eggs as a starter were really nice and full of flavour. The lobster was so succulent. Yes it was expensive but you get what you pay for. It clearly was a fresh lobster and not frozen. I will definitely be going back. I want to try the chicken... Highly recommended.

Recommended this place by locals, after stumbling around the harbour looking at options for eats on a friday evening. Had no idea what to expect, this was incredibly tasty and delicious with no pretence. Welcomed by a friendly team who fitted our group of 5 in early, without a reservation. Incredible lobster, oysters from the specials board and chicken buns.. Bonfire potatoes, hispi cabbage and caeser salad all high mentions. It's the sauces and dabs that give this a next level dimension. Very impressive, and worth return visits!

We did our research and chose Nip and Cluck for lobster during our first visit to Whitstable. It did not disappoint. The lobster was so easy to eat (I hate all the Jack the Ripper tools) and succulent. The sides we had were amazing - don’t assume the cabbage is boring because it was the best and the mash was good too. We also enjoyed the cocktails ☺️ We also want to appreciate the service, so friendly and professional even after a busy hot day - thank you Georgia ❤️ Lovely that our dog was welcome. We had a couple of notes - would recommend having the sauce on the side to really appreciate the lobster and we’d have appreciated finger bowls as we were messy by the end ☺️

Off piste eatery offering chicken and seafood. Catered for 7 with ease with no prior booking. Food was tasty, but sadly let down by the overpriced portions, massively overhyped by the staff. We were told the £15 portion of one tiger prawn was “unbelievable” and “was the size of my forearm” - leading us to believe that we were in for a real catch of the day treat. Sadly the £15 prawn was no bigger than my finger. Three of us ordered it - £45 for 3 prawns. So maybe swerve that one…you have been warned!

The food here was nice however not having lobster on the menu from September to June is a big disappointment especially as it’s one of your main menu items and with the name of the restaurant! kinda killed it for me the replacement sea food items are not a good substitute, get the lobster in all year round Sauces and butters were really good chips on the menu would be nice too

Been to Whitstable quite a bit and not noticed this place. Would highly recommend a visit. Nice friendly staff and very tasty chicken. I had a bit of sea food alongside as was hungry, nice pickles and potatoes. The sauces are homemade and really tasty. I think they should make an extra hot one though for us spice lovers 😅

I think it’s quite expensive for what it is The Lobster roll was underwhelming - Lobster slightly over cooked and not much of it-so flavour overpowered by everything else. £21 😂 Chicken was enjoyable if slightly undercooked ( pink near the bone) Staines Salad Staines is our local green grocers it’s fab and noted for its vibrant rich array of fruit and veg so if I see ‘Staines salad’ on a local menu I don’t expect to see just a few unseasoned green leaves in a bowl with dressing. But what really put me off was the service or lack of it. One of the waitresses audibly saying another table was being difficult by ordering black coffee 🤷🏻♀️ A wait to be seated A wait to have our drinks order taken A wait for the drinks to arrive A wait for our food No napkins A wait for our plates to be cleared No offer of desert or coffee. A wait for the bill…. I left thinking it’s all a bit overpriced overhyped and the basics of hospitality and customer service not observed.

Had so much incredible food at Meatopia, but hands down the best thing was the smoked chicken sausage with ginger lobster bisque from Nip and Cluck. It really blew me away, blissful combination of flavours and textures. The crisp flat bread, the soft juicey sausage, luxuriously rich bisque with the black sesame, had me grinning from ear to ear. Had a great meal here late in the afternoon on Friday. Everything was so tasty, shared the chicken and lobster platter for 2 with 2 sides which was the perfect amount. Wow! What an addition to the Whitstable food scene. Tucked away in the old shell of pizza express this was a brilliant surprise after a long drive home. The chicken was the best I’ve tasted and my wife’s lobster was in her words ‘just perfect’! The sides were awesome too. We had the Bonfire potatoes and flat bread and they were both perfectly seasoned and well sized. We had the 2 to share and we’re both full and I have a big appetite. £48 for that so good value for the area. Service was super friendly and quick. Will be back with the rest of the family!

We came last night 14/8 having read William Sitwell’s review. Was surprised to see the choice of three dressings in plastic squeeze bottles on the tables. This would have been fine we’re it not for the fact that the bottles had a load of gunk around the nozzles. It really wasn’t nice. Also the napkins in the cutlery box were grubby. It just made for an overall feeling of not being being clean. It would take the rather daft waitress less than a minute to wipe them. The other tables were the same. The meal was alright but I’m afraid that the initial impact put a dampener on things. We left feeling disappointed which is such a pity. We were really looking forward to it.

The service from one particular waitress was unprofessional from the vibes that came across made us feel uncomfortable. The lobster was ok but the chicken was inedible raw inside with blood still present it was also tasteless. The waitress said that's fine it's supposed to be like that ! .Another waitress was good knowledgable and pleasant. I left uneaten most of the chicken nobody from the staff questioned why in fact they seemed to aviod coming to our table despite being only one other party present. Wont be returning .

Chicken was nice, but the side portions aren’t very generous. We ordered the chicken for 4, which comes with 4 sides, but there wasn’t enough to go round. We like the concept, but the restaurant itself feels like a bit of an afterthought with the workspace - it lacked atmosphere.

Insanely poor value. Food did taste great though, so if you're hungry and feeling flush(£50 per head flush) you will have an enjoyable time. Felt bad for the staff who didn't get a tip because we had been so badly ripped off in the food, we couldnt justify a tip. Only half our table ate with cutlery-the rest of us asked for cutlery but it never came. Thankfully it was food that could be eaten with hands(no finger bowl or wipes). The lobater roll had just two mini nuggets of lobster-laughably bad at £20. Our 'meal for 2' had a fair chicken portion but a lobster tail(no tools to extract anything more (which could be finished in one mouthful and certainly never shareable). We explained to the staff we were surprised at the size of our meal but the chef was unwilling to remedy. Please don't waste your money. The aim of eating out is to have great company and leave full and satisfied. Unfortunately the conversation was dominated by how disappointed each of us was. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! Wouldn't recommend to a friend or stranger.

Really disappointed with this place. A group of six of us attended for dinner and the chicken came out pink. We complained and a chef came over and said it was indeed cooked but the colour was due to the way they brine the chicken (?) the three of us who ordered didn’t feel comfortable eating bright pink chicken. Sent it back and then had to wait for it to be cooked while everyone else ate. We don’t dine together as a group often so it was annoying that some of us sat there without a meal. Chicken came back better but still very pink. Maybe they should change the way they prepare the chicken as I imagine most people will complain about this as summer months go on. No explanation on the menu what any of the dab sauces were? Won’t be returning.

Really disappointed with this place. Not only did we not find out there was no lobster until we were sitting down and had ordered, our chicken was whipped away half eaten and the bill brought all whilst I went to the loo. Staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing and the manager or owner couldn’t even be bothered to say hello to us as we waited behind him for someone to seat us when we arrived. We won’t be back which is a shame

We have visited Nip & Cluck a few times now and it has quickly become a family favourite, this is due to the friendly welcoming staff (especially with children) and also the incredible flavour of the chicken cooked over charcoal with a choice of delicious butters to add a unique flavour. The mash potato is some of the best you will ever have and the selection of accompaniments and side dishes all make for a wonderful, relaxed and very tasty meal. The prices are very reasonable and the drink selection is great. If you have been thinking of visiting the go for it you won't be disappointed....We will definitely be visiting as often as we can.

We had been meaning to visit Nip and Cluck in Whitstable since it opened recently and we were not disappointed! It was necessary to start with the Bloody Mary and it hit the spot - really fresh and spicy. We found out the secret ingredient was Guindilla pickle liquor! A really friendly and helpful staff member guided us through the menu and we also learned a lot about the ethos of this place, with the footprint and provenance of the ingredients being top priority. It shines through in the taste. Wood fire is at the heart of everything here and gave the fresh lobster and chicken a real depth of flavour. We are planning to return to try the live fire Sunday roast soon...sorry no photos. We were too engrossed in the grub!

Nip & Cluck hasn't been opened long but has quickly become a favourite restaurant of mine. This is mainly down to the wood fired chicken and lobster. It is incredible! The wood fire really brings out the natural flavours of both and works perfectly with the choice of dips available - My favourite being the Smoked Garlic and Lemon Thyme. The sides are also delicious and the whole serving style lends itself perfectly to sharing with a group of family or friends. This can all be enjoyed inside a large, relaxed space with really friendly, knowledgeable staff who certainly know had to make a fabulous cocktail!! I highly recommend!

What a little gem this fabulous place is! A lovely little unexpected late lunch with the husband. Cocktail menu, wine and beer selection is expansive and reasonably priced. I had an espresso martini, my husband had a Bloody Mary. We had a combo Two2Share- half lobster & half bird with fireside potatoes and the Tarragon Buttermilk Dab sauce. For dessert we shared an order of Caremalised Torrijas with Smoked Custard.
