Poor quality batter on fish had to pick it all off. Fish inside was ok but small. Lots of batter to make it look bigger. Didn't like it. Don't live there but if I did I wouldn't go there. Sorry.

We went for the Sunday roast today and left very full and impressed. Everything was cooked to perfection and it was restaurant quality. The beef was beautifully tender, accompanied by a selection of perfectly cooked vegetables, delicious roast potatoes and a huge Yorkshire pudding, topped with parsnips crisps. The gravy was the perfect accompaniment. We have tried many places locally for a roast dinner and I have to say that this is the best one we have found so far. You really must give it a try. We will certainly be back. Thank you!

Haddock seems to be better value than cod.

Went. Here for the first time last weekend, very impressed with the fish and chips we had freshly cooked and great value would recommend very strongly we sat in there small restaurant great service and very clean. Will definitely be returning soon

Today we were treated to delicious fish and chips. As tourists from Poland, we are delighted with the quality and taste. Moreover, the portions are large. I recommend eating there. Greetings from a tourist who spoke Polish and had English 😂.

Really poor service, we ordered fish and chips and were told we could eat outside and then after ordering we were told that we couldn’t sit on the table and would have to move to a bench which was occupied! Didn’t leave a good feeling when another couple were allowed to eat on the table. Maybe our demographics put them off!

It's a business I've been to in Istanbul and will come back to every time. It's very humble and the food is great.

Disappointed with the food and service. Food barely warm the cod was greasy and all grey and dry it was awful. The fat they are frying in tastes old. It has been repeating on me most of the evening. I will not go there again. Unfortunately the place has gone down hill. Aprons better hygiene friendly service and hot nice food is missing.

45 min wait to get takeaway food

Ordered cod and chips for two, it was cooked to order. We were very happy with our dinner and would happily go back when we are back in the area.

Gorgeous fish and chips, quick service. There are c. 10 tables to eat inside and 6 tables outside, the choice is yours. Located next to the takeaway shop. Plenty of parking outside, bike stand and dog bowl available too.

Excellent meal this evening in the restaurant. Had the grilled cod from the specials menu. Freshly cooked to order. Life is expensive but this meal out was well worth the money. Friendly staff Highly recommend

Unfortunately, my experience didn’t compare to the good reviews. Visited and queued for over 25 minutes outside and only then saw the notice inside saying it was cash only. Maybe an idea to post this on the window. Not a problem as had some cash but don’t usually as everywhere takes card. That aside, ordered 2 lots of cod and chips - the chips had no flavour and the cod just tasted of fat and batter (no cod taste at all). Bitterly disappointed. My 15 year old said the same thing so wasn’t just my thoughts!

Visited today with my partner and my dog had the o.a.p fish and chips dinner it was very tasty managed to get table in the shade outside. Only downside was the price of 2 cans of diet coke just under £6 which in my opinion was expensive.

Discovered Ossies Best Fish and Chips in Whitstable through Google Maps, and the reviews didn’t disappoint. The cod and chips we ordered were absolutely delicious—fresh fish and generous portions. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We opted to sit outside to enjoy our meal. There’s a separate area for dining in, but the prices are a bit higher. Nevertheless, highly recommend! We noticed lots of locals popping in for takeaway, which is always a good sign.

Great fish and chips. Have had both rock and cod at Ossies and it was cooked too perfection. Generous portions very fresh and very good price. Special thanks to the waitresses that have served us when we have visited they are brilliant 👍 Ossies well worth visiting.

NOT GLUTEN FREE. Advised they do offer gluten free food - but it’s cooked in the same oil as gluten items! Obviously not safe for people with Coeliac Disease.

All in all 10 stars! The only thing is: chips are enough for 3 people! And fish for 2 children for sure! We bought too many, had to waste more than half of it... Super extra large portions! Very Very Very tasty! We hope all way down here (40 min or so) to eat fish and chips!

Haven't sat in the restaurant side for a long time, completely changed menu, the food looked well presented with good options,. I thought it would just fish and chips, but there were good alternatives to deep-fried fish. I had basic cod and chips, which was served to perfection, cooked just right, the fish was moist, not dry, the chips were golden but not dripping in oil or fat.

Unfortunately they work on a by order basis, so even though we ordered only 2 small chips, we had to wait 25 minutes to get our food whilst they cooked all the bigger orders ahead of us. Such an inefficient way to run it and completely different to the other fish and chip shops in Whitstable.

We got to the shop at 7.30 after paying £5.70 for an hour and a half’s parking, to be told they were shutting in half hour. Anyway we ordered and sat down. The chips were good, the batter was a little bit stodgy for my liking and the mushy peas were good. Service was mediocre.

Brilliant tea with the kids. Good service, good food (we ate everything, as did the kids (who didn't moan at all!!) And a good price. Yes, it's not the ritz, it's a local chippy, but it's lovely. I thoroughly recommend and will be back!

Always been a favourite of ours. Great fish and chips and not far from the sea front too. Deducted a star because on my last visit I was kind of forced to pay cash. I didn’t have a bank card on my just Apple Pay and was made to pay via a bank transfer. So beware if you don’t have a card to cash.

Really busy, get yourself there in plenty of time. Good food, big portions, light fluffy chips (too many :-) ). OAP meal is still big. Right price. Very efficient staff. Pay by cash or Bank Transfer, so be prepared.

Ordered Cod but given something alternative without notification

This really is the best fish and chips for miles around. Eat in or walk two minutes and sit on and bench and look at the sea.

For me, this is the best fish and chip shop ever. Food is always freshly cooked, and absolutely delicious. You will always find a big queue of people at the door, which shows how good this place is. You cam eat in, or take home or even walk 5mins round the corner and have them on the beach and watch the sun go down. I can't recommend this place enough.

Rude rude nasty. I have a long day I come on my own for a little snack and I have worked in hospitality for over 5 years. I sit on one their bench’s to eat. They tell me I can’t sit on one of their bench’s after spending money there. All my friends and family go here trust me I’ll make sure no one does now. Nasty people

A nice and well-kept place with fast and friendly service. The quality of the dishes is excellent and the fish & chips are delicious.

Lovely food. Presented well and cooked well. I only ordered a half loaded breakfast, but a good amount on the plate. Clean and good service.

This lovely business survived the pandemic and has thrived since, with reinvestment in the customer facing premises, and the eat-in area is now very comfortable, with a clean, cosy feeling. The staff are relaxed and friendly, the food menu is consistently good. We had the green fish curry and battered plaice today, were impressed by the portion size of the chips, and the coffee was great. We'll continue to go out of our way to come to Ossies because it's worth it. We no longer need cash, which is a real relief.

Very sad to say this as we were really looking forward to it, but it was just a bit average, not bad just average. Service was good quick and friendly but the food was a bit of a letdown for a chip shop that had won awards. 😥

Found this fish and chip shop on Sunday, I absolutely loved the cod and chips we had as takeaway, wife had cod bites and chips was freshly cooked to perfection. Large cod and chips and cod bites and chips £16 can't as for more...

Previously had top notch, crispy delicious fish & chips from Ozzys . Tonight it was not busy, in fact we were the only ones in the place at 5.45 pm. It was stale and tasteless. The fish/batter was mushy, the chips were soggy and leathery. This was definitely food cooked at lunch time, being served at dinner time. Really not fair. Is it worth loosing a regular customer over £10? We wont be returning sadly.

So if you want to eat really good fish and chips, this is the place for you. The quality of the food is very good. The young woman who served us was also very friendly and accommodating. The prices for the food are acceptable, but for drinks they are slightly excessive in my opinion. But the whole thing makes a neat and clean impression. In high season. I would imagine this fish and chip restaurant is certainly packed.

Funny how they rate themselves THE BEST, debatable Food was okay, the medium portion of chips, unbelievable small Are potatoes that expensive, you have to skimp so much, I have never had a portion of chips so small, we counted less than 30 chips on a plate, In our regular Broomfield fish bar, much better quality, and quantity, Won’t be using Ossies Best Fish And Chips Again, Funny how our regular Broomfield fish bar is still part of Ossies, Just much better service, quality and quantity, Tankerton shop, should be ashamed of yourselves, Potato saving skimpers

1st visit of the year and the food never disappoints and worth the 40 minute drive, would recommend the Plaice its delicious

Oh my god....was feeling a little bit piggy on a Friday night so had large haddock and chips with curry sauce and mushy peas.. UNBELIEVABLE...so so good the missus had a large saveloy and chips all for 16 quid..lived here for 50 years best by far..

Our regular, for very good reasons

We decided to visit Ossie’s for fish and chips and discovered a much broader menu on offer. On Ossie’s recommendation we picked the fish curry which was outstanding and as a curry connoisseur, I can say this was the best fish curry ever. Really glad we stopped by,

cracking Huss and Chips. or Roc , as they call it in Tankerton. Mushy peas accompanied it nicely .

Food was bloody delicious. Service very good and wasn't kept waiting for ages like some places. Will def visit again and would definitely recommend.

Amazing service, delicious food served in no time and were able to accommodate me as I'm vegan, so offered me a really yummy stuffed pepper which I had with chips and mushy peas. I loved it. Nothing was too much trouble and we had the whole restaurant to ourselves, as it was a Tuesday night. We had a lovely family meet up, delicious food and great service for very affordable prices.
