Wouldn't get fish and chips from anywhere else.

Perfect fish and chips for the beach walk, would recommend to all to stop in and grab some fish and chips for the beach

Updated review after a terrible experience previously, the food is lovely and cooked really well I do still feel the loyalty scheme is unfair being collection only as those who are disable or immobile are losing out despite regular and loyal custom.

Stale chips,no flavour,tough,looked like and tasted like they had been cooked some time ago.

Always fast delivery. The chips weren’t as nice as they have been in the past. Love the fact that they sell half portions of chips, they are still a good size portion though. The sausage in batter was so tasty.

I went in the shop to make my order, but they forget the jumbo sausage. When I called they rectified this by getting the sausage delivered really quickly. Great service and the quality of food was great too, thank you.

Chicken and a medium cod. Absolutely dry as anything also medium cod was as big as a tea spoon and the chicken was burnt 16 pounds that cost me. Never go there again

Quality as always, never disappoints. Delivery on time but then just eat keeps changing it to suit. Was Saturday eve so was always gonna be busy. Will always go here.

GO ANYWHERE ELSE AND YOU ONLY HAVE YOURSELF TO BLAME. BEST FISH & CHIPS IN EAST KENT. THEY CAN EVEN DO HALLOUMI GRILLED OR BATTERED THAT IS SQUEAKY, SALTY, WHICH GOES TO PROVE THAT ACROSS THEIR WHOLE MENU THEY DELIVER ON QUALITY. Haddock is my favourite fish but other fishes are available and cooked to order.

We're visiting Herne Bay on a weekend break away from Southend. We fancied a chippy tea & thought we'd try here. Brilliant friendly customer service, chatty, helpful & attentive😀. The fish bar was very clean & spacious & the food itself was 'banging👌😋!' Would definitely eat here again & highly recommend!! It was nice to sit in & eat too...Thank you 😊

Most of rhe food was amazing as usual. but was extremely disappointed as I ordered a cornish pasty and got a cheap and nasty corner shop beef and vegetable pasty that looked like it had been microwaved and was as flat as a pancake so we through it away. everything else was exceptional and the best chips and burgers by far in herne bay 😋 would take alot for me to go elsewhere.

fish was nice and just the right amount of chips BUT the savoly was dry and hard and the pie was stone cold and watery the centre of the pie was still chilled like it had come out of the fridge and forgotten to be heated

Tried this fish and chip shop as had heard that they do gluten free fish and chips and my daughter and I are both coeliac. They had a great knowledge of gluten free - separate fryer for the fish and chips and knew we weren't able to have normal vinegar - onion vinegar was on offer instead. The gluten free batter was really good. Very happy to have found this place and will definitely return. Other family members had normal fish and chips / scampi and also enjoyed their food. A great result all round.

Bread roll which cat 80p was as hard as a rock..Fish was just OK. An expensive meal which wasn't as good as expected.

Lovely clean and friendly fish and chip shop. Chips came in a bag which was a great change to the normal folded paper that they normally get served in. Nice amount of chips and lovely crisp batter on the sausages. Fish cake was very tasty. Would definitely pop in again if we are in that area. There are a few tables inside too if you want to eat in.

What an awful meal, £25 for scampi that was tasteless and coating like ground cardboard. Chips were a absolutely vile and my cod that was the size of a minnow went in the bin. How can they make such a simple meal so bad. That’s it, I’m not doing the fish n chips anymore unless I’m in a proper restaurant. Avoid ..

Got fish and chips here tonight thankfully it was delicious. A bit pricey to what we usually pay at home but would recommend.

What can I say. We have had food from here many times. Each time the chips are hot. And the cod is beautifully cooked. Gluten free option too. The portions are a really good size. The staff are very friendly. Will definitely be back.

Best fish and chips ever tasted 😁

Drove an hour for a decent fish and chips lunch yesterday by the sea. Was a bit of a waste of time. The fish and chips here were not only expensive, it was tasteless and believe it was frozen. The chips were hard and the fish was probably the worst I’ve ever had from a chippy in my life. Reviews said it was good, regret not going somewhere else. Staff were all great, alas we won’t be returning as the food was awful.

Ordered Take away, it arrived earlier than stated so that’s good. The time was 6.45pm Small cod, was over cooked and dry, so cat had most of it. Small battered sausage was brown and pink inside, dog had a piece. Chips were soggy, overall the food was substandard. We ate some of it as we were so so hungry, but then just couldn’t stomach anymore. I rang the fish bar at 7.15pm and spoke to a gentleman, to ask for a partial refund, as the food was just horrible. Basically said you can have a discount next time you order, well that was useless as there will def not be a next time! He also said that you should of called when you got the food, then he would’ve of replaced it! He actually sent a driver to come and collect what was left, and I heard nothing back from him! So, customer service when there is an issue, well there isn’t any! Obviously they are unaware of the Consumer Rights act 2015. So, long story short, food was rubbish, customer service rubbish. Will not be back, will not recommend to anyone.

I have decided to edit my very good review as I agree with another recent review below in that I feel this Chippy has gone down hill over the last few months but have noticed the prices seem to be going up and up, usually have it on a Friday night so phone it in on the way home from work to be delivered as they were always busy so haven’t actually been in the shop for a while and seen if there has been any change of staff but either way the food hasn’t been anywhere near as enjoyable as it used to be, the chips have been getting soggier and my cod that I had a couple of weeks ago was warm at best and also dry like it had been sitting in the display cabinet for ages (the chips were piping hot btw but soggy) I had some family over last night for a takeaway and 1 of them wanted fish and chips so I went down to the shop to pick it up while the others ordered a Chinese, a medium cod( they don’t do small) and a small chips came to £11.50, the cod hadn’t been drained off so when I got home the box was dripping wet with oil. The same usual friendly guy behind the counter wasn’t there and the staff seem to have changed too and have been replaced with a load of young girls that as a post below says didn’t seem to really care, maybe the regular staff was on holiday but if not then that is probably why the food has gone down hill like it has

So the saga continues, the last 3 visits to this normally great fish n chip shop has gone down hill, my previous order they forgot to put the Cod for the person we were having dinner with. On asking to replace the fish and delivery they said there too busy. So I returned with the complete order to have it done again and they forgot the children’s sausages. This past Friday the 10 Cod bites were 8 and 2 were just batter. Ordered 3 chips and when i got home with the family meal there was 4 snd charged for 4. Its a shame balls, last chance !!! The Cod fish wasn't very nice or fresh, had much better!!!! To be honest they weren’t very apologetic and didn't seem to care

Hot and tasty just what we needed

Usually fantastic and ‘proper fish and chip shop’ meal. Tonight the chips were awful nothing like usual, well overcooked, many burnt, and zero taste. Nuggets were over cooked and the cod was poor, again over cooked and more batter than fish. Shame as it’s not a cheap meal anymore, wasted alot of money tonight.

Worst fish and chips I've had in my life! The fish was a wet mush, not one solid bit except for a bone. The chips were soggy and leathery with loads of black bits. The batter was OK but we didn't pay over the odds just for batter! Complete waste of money for inedible mush. Wish we'd gone anywhere else, if we'd eaten in we wouldn't have paid, sadly this was a takeaway.
