Proper good quality, fresh Fish & Chips. Highly recommended

Chips had obviously been sat there since lunch time when I got them at 4, lots of black chips and extremely crunchy! Would not recommend

Very quiet place. The manager and staff are very friendly and easygoing. They always engage with the customers which serve the best chicken and chips and fish and chips along with sauce and vinegar.

I moved to Canterbury a few years ago and my first meal was from this Chip Shop - back then it was great. The year that has gone, the place has got worse and worse. The staff are friendly but the guy cooking and serving could be a bit better hygiene wise but I am happy to ignore that part. The food the latest visits is clearly cooked earlier and chips are sitting keeping warm, this might seem an unfair gripe but chips lose consistency and become soft when not fresh (its only chips that I think sit keeping warm - other things are cooked fresh like battered fish and sausage and these fresh foods in my opinion are tasty). Overall I think and this is a guess, they are cost cutting (which is understandable to keep cost down), but it has been at the expense of a good meal. I had 3 bad meals the last times I visited so I won't be visiting again.

Best chip shop in Canterbury. Uses paper so no polystyrene waste as other chip shops in Canterbury are creating. Very good portions. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

I have tried this Chippy periodically over the years because it is close to where I live and every time I am always disappointed with the chips. They are like cardboard and the worst chips ever. Always reheated and tasteless. This will be the last time and will take the extra journey to herne bay cos the chip shops are far better

First time using this chip shop and will defo be back. Food was nicely cooked and massive portions, cod was lovely and saveloy was cooked to perfection ( and believe me i am fussy with my saveloy) Guys behind the counter were brillant, couldn't of asked for better customer service. Gona be our local chip shop from now on, 10/10 ossies 😊😊 ( this is the shop in Sturry)

We we're staying in Canterbury for holiday and one evening we stopped, grabbed some Fish n Chips and Chicken to take home. The crew working were very nice and even let us try a couple of things we had never heard of. Food didn't take very long to get. Nothing was bad, it's was a good, straightforward meal. Was a bit greasy, that's was to be expected since it was a bag of fried food. Just didn't find it to have much taste or flavor. Just everything coated in a bland flour and quickly fried. They gave pretty good-sized portions, so we felt we got our money's worth. For a quick meal, Ossies will meet your needs, but if you are looking for something more flavorful, you might want to look for an alternative.

Having found this fish bar a few years back, since the new owners have taken over although very nice the food has gone down I remember the fish was white batter golden and chips nice and golden I don't know what's happened but not as nice as before sorry guys

Have used this chippy since it was built and was very pleased when Ossies took it over with large portions at a reasonable price. Over the last two weeks the high standard has dipped, portions have shrunk alarmingly and the price has gone up. Will give it one more week and will voice my disproval next time.

Just had cod and chips and was very disappointed! The batter on the fish was underdone and slimy, the chips were full of insect tracks and could of been used for hardcore , Usually food is very good but I didn't recognize the crew , maybe new in??

This place is excelent for food without crazy prices. I love going here because it has great food and excelent service. I recommend this highly. You will never get a bad meal from this place! 😊

Asked for a small portion he gave a huge portion enough to feed a family of 4 and nan and grandad as well as the batterd sausage was a jumbo and I asked for small and all was cooked fresh but I asked for small everything and this was a cheep price as what I asked for and the food was good but far to much for a huge fat man like me

I ordered scampi and onion rings which were ok. The chips were huge but tasted old, although half were cold. The spicy bean burger was still FROZEN in the middle, so would have been dangerous to eat. Tried to ring Ossies to discuss, but no answer. An inedible meal.

It's an Ossies so you get ridiculously large portions of freshly cooked fish and chips . Can't ask for more.

Awful food stone cold the fish was in a soggy cold batter and just tasteless, chips been cooked again all dry and cold. Was told it’s new management since opening from lockdown!!! Bring back the old one then because this is awful. Reviews since reopened also think so. Don’t take card payments! Even though trying to avoid cash transactions. Never again.

Just been served chips, added salt, went to eat one and they were cold. Told the staff , who tipped them back , to be resold. I had to wait until they dumped the whole lot , against their will , as they were contaminated. Absolutely disgusting

I bought dinner for first time since lockdown from here only live not 2 miles away and everything I bought for me my wife and 3 children was cold to the point it was unbeatable I would not of feed it to the dog. A real SHAME as it has always since I remember from a young boy never been that bad a chipshop. LAZY AND REALLY COULD DO ALOT BETTER

Its now 2020 and this restaruant is consistently the best place for your chippie type meals , all the food is always hot, fresh and full of flavour , the staff are super nice and caring they deserve all the praise and compliments that can be expressed. We have been several times and you can be confident you know exactly what you will get and also a warm welcome, even though we went on a Saturday evening the service is amazing. Thank you Ossies !

ten out of eleven for me` great chippy even got ` free bread n butter rolls,because i got attacked by seagulls outside,sods stole my rolls n got a couple of fish bites,,but chippy replaced them.

Vastly improved from a year or so ago,fresh fish,burger & pies all cooked fresh with hot chips,staff are good to,snack on chips if you have to wait for your food and it tastes good to,worth a visit and popular with the locals.

Ossies is a really nice place to get very good quality food, they do chips, cod, burgers, nuggets, soft drinks. The shop is kept clean and tidy and the staff are friendly.

Brilliant take-away (not an eat-in place). Friendly, courteous staff. Can't ask for better, everything is freshly cooked. Extensive menu with everything you'd expect, from fish to burgers.

We are always greeted with a smile, my children love coming to collect our takeaway as they always get a lollipop. The staff are friendly and food is really good :)

If fresh chip shop food is what your looking for then look no further but expect a little wait while your food is being prepared fish is rarely left in the hot counter to go hard and greasy and to calm the hunger niggles the staff often give you a few chips to pass the time also always fresh not soggy it’s the only chippy I use now

Food here is consistently good. Great chips and friendly staff. Portions are so big though that I usually end up throwing some away which seems wrong.

Burger grill here has been broken for three weeks and they're making no effort to replace it/get it fixed unfortunately.

Fish is always freshly cooked but chicken and sausages seem to be cooked in advance. Chips are very generously sized portions but can vary in quality, last night's were old and over cooked, must have been a slow night, but not so bad that I wouldn't go back.

This chip shop is a traditional establishment clean, fresh and service comes with banter when you become a regular just like the good old days, I can’t list all the items I have tried or I would be basically just typing out their menu, always hot and fresh food and as a fish monger myself it’s always a pleasure to taste fresh fish I won’t go anywhere else anymore.

Can't fault Ozzies, lovely food, non greasy crispy batter. Massive choice. Very generous portions often with extras thrown in. Spotlessly clean. Very pleasant staff.

We have used this fish & Chip shop ever since it opened and have never had cause to complain. They even give you some chips if you have to wait any length of time, which can sometimes happen at busy times i.e. Fridays Usually plenty of parking outside which makes life easy. We have recommended it to family when down from Norfolk, and they could not find any fault with it.

We use this fish and chip shop once a week. The food is very tasty, with a good variety on the menu, excellent customer service. A good kiddies menu.

Friendly staff, yummy fish and chips. My children were given a cone of chips each to nibble on to save them from getting bored (it wasn't a long wait, but a really nice touch). They were handed a lolly as we left.

Esperamos desde Sturry pescado y patatas fritas. Personal amable y eficiente. Usted no espere más que cualquier otro "fish and chips", pero siempre se disculpan por cualquier esperar y si es la que te dan unos chips para mantenerte! El pescado es fresco y sabroso, con una masa crujiente, la comida siempre es recién preparada y caliente. Muchas otras opciones si el pescado no es para ti. Es limpio, comida fresca y muy buenas porciones de tamaño para su dinero. Recomendado.
