Tonys Fish and Chip Shop in Isle of Wight

I usually go to Wights for fish and chips as they are excellent.However,due to upgrading, I found they were closed.The nearest fish and chip shop was Tony’s.So I thought I would give them a try.Unfortunately, due to the ridiculously small portions,I won’t be going back.I don’t see how they could charge so much for about a dozen or so chips.I had to pay an extra £2 to get enough for two people.Wights are always excellent and not swamped in grease like Tony’s.Shame.

Primero encontramos peces de Tony y Chip Shop en julio pasado (2015), poco después se abrió el recinto. No habíamos hecho la reserva y un grupo de 20 mujeres mayores en el lugar de un descendiente del almuerzo. Nos quedamos muy impresionados con la calidad de la comida que se sirve, el tamaño de la porción y la limpieza encontrado. Esta influencia para reservar para 2016 en nuestro viaje anual a la Isla de Wight, que tuvo lugar el 11 de julio de 2016. Nos numera 17 este año, pero Tony era capaz de hacer una oferta en su nosotros menú de comida para ancianos y era especialmente agradable para notar que la calidad, cantidad y calidad de la comida que nos no se había deteriorado en absoluto! Normas de higiene era impecable, incluso el baño. Nuestro almuerzo de comida es una enorme parte de nuestra excursión de un día y el servicio recibido en peces de Tony y Chip Shop (restaurante) hizo que nuestra excursión sea inolvidable. Estamos totalmente de esperar para disfrutar de nuevo durante nuestra excursión el próximo año!

Picked up a take away for our supper. Staff very friendly with quick service. Best place in town for Fish & Chips.

This is one of the best Fish and Chip shops in Ryde the only down side is there is normally a large queue but the food is worth the wait.

We had cod and chips, rock and chips, pot of tea and white coffee £13.50 great value and large portions. Would highly recommend.

This town center trad fish restaurant is on the money. Young staff team trying hard to get it right and succeeding. No licence so they let you bring your own wine

Visitamos previamente y había un buen viaje, y permitía el personal para hacer la salchicha en la salchicha, patatas fritas y puede manejar una Jumbo salchichas por un precio extra.

I have been here multiple times and its always been good. Large portions are LARGE and not much more than a regular. Good value I would say

Just wanted a quick meal for my daughter. Asked for fish bites. Got soggy, undercooked blobs of yuuuukkkk! Went straight in the bin. Not good. The young lady serving was lovely, tolerant and helpful. The owner was was not!

Fuimos en aquí la semana pasada, salchichas ordenada y patatas fritas, la comida estaba muy bien cocinada. Normalmente vamos a la "fish and chips" a la vuelta de la esquina, Wight's, siempre nos parecieron ser bueno, pero estaban cerradas este específico tarde, así que fuimos a Tony's, así que me alegro haberlo hecho. Para ser sincero, me pareció que la comida aquí en Tony's era mejor que Wight's. No cabe duda de que volveremos para algo de comida cuando esté en la zona de Ryde. El personal es agradable, zona y restaurante donde sirven muy limpio/higiénicos aspecto al lado. Muy recomendable.

We go here often for the restaurant food. The haddock is delicious and portions big. Friendly staff too, nothing too much bother.

Best chip shop I have been to in ages. Excellent fish in delightful crisp batter. Excellent crisp chips. Very friendly, nicely decorated with clean tables and excellent loos. Recommended.

This is the most consistently good Fish & Chips you can find on the Isle of Wight. Not only that but the folks who work there are great fun too.

Compré para llevar salchichas y patatas fritas aquí sin pensarlo una noche, cuando esperando mucho tiempo para autobuses. Fue un poco incómodo, ya que había una larga espera y yo sólo tenía tiempo para comer antes de que el bus era debido. Sin embargo, era completamente aceptable ya que eran muy ocupado y el resultado final fue realmente vale la pena esperar, aunque los chicos que sirve no eran terriblemente orientados hacia el cliente. Después volvimos una semana más tarde durante el día para una comida en el restaurante, con un cuarto amigo. El acceso por su ayuda a pie era un poco estrecho, pero nos las arreglamos, y esta vez tuvimos bacalao y patatas fritas. Para decir que este fue el mejor pescado y patatas fritas que he tenido en mucho tiempo es insuficiente, creo que puede ser el mejor de TODOS. No me puedo quejar del personal del día en esta ocasión, quizás porque eran más maduros. Estoy sorprendido por algunos de los comentarios en Tripadvisor sobre este lugar. Yo diría que intentarlo y hacer su propia mente, estoy seguro de que no te decepcionará. La comida es genial

Just got fish and chips from Tony's, waited ages for 2 cod and a large chips, enough to read 2 newspapers they had there. It wasn't that busy for a Saturday night. Eventually got food and saw the staff putting salt & vinegar on the chips when we'd asked for them plain. Pointed this out and the stroppy, surly teenage boy they employ there made out like a Michelin dish he'd just cooked up had been ruined. Yes it said sv on the chit, but it's your fault it was taken incorrectly, not ours. He went off complaining about us whilst he had to prepare a fresh chips, meanwhile our cod was sat wrapped on the counter. No apology from either him or the woman who worked there. Its a chippy and they can't even get that right. Food was poor, soggy batter and bones in the fish. Don't waste your time here, even the drive to Terry's in Wootton is worth it. Wish we'd gone there tonight.

Had a take away fish & chips and really enjoyed every mouthful. Would defiantly recommend and will be returning in the not to distant future.
