Fabulous food, the prawn linguine was to die for! Staff were great but we kept getting asked what we wanted twice! Our dog was allowed in but we had to sit downstairs which wasn't a problem. Altogether a nice experience and even though it was more expensive than I usually pay for pasta/pizza, it was definitely worth it gor a weekend treat. We will definitely go back again.

As others have said, Salty's is an excellent pizza/pasta/music place. The service was outstanding, the staff even moved us to another table when they saw we were getting agitated by loud guests at the next table. Nothing was too much trouble, the service up to American standards where another drink is on the way as soon as you put an empty glass down. They deserve to do well, and 90% of other UK F&B establishments, take note how Salty's care for their customers! Well done. Oh, food was delicious too.

Visited over the weekend with a very large group for a reunion. We had pre-ordered food and the food was delicious but the real highlight was the service. The staff let us come in early, were incredibly well organised at bringing the food out and getting it to the right person and found a missing earring at the end of the meal. Everything was seamless, friendly and we felt very welcomed. Thank you, Beth!

We popped in to Saltys for an early dinner with our daughter last night. Honestly the best pizza we’ve ever had! The team are so friendly and welcoming. Great atmosphere and decor. Absolutely a 5 star review. The only thing that could improve it would be if they had beer on tap. Thank you for a lovely experience.

Visited today. Such a shame this place isn’t serving fish/seafood anymore since it reopened as a pizzeria. The pizzas are ok but nothing special. It feels like Saltys has completely lost its charm. We used to come here every time we were in the IOW but won’t be returning.

Came here a couple of months ago for a birthday meal. Informed them on arrival that I was coeliac to which they said they hand stretch fresh gluten free dough for their pizzas. The pizza was absolutely delicious (very good for a gluten free pizza) but overheard as we were paying the bill that the pizzas are not suitable for coeliacs (all cooked in the same oven) unfortunately this hadn't been flagged to me and left me feeling quite unwell for a few days afterwards. If it weren't for this I would be back as I really enjoyed the pizza! If steps were made to make the pizzas coeliac safe this would be incredible as otherwise there is nothing else on the menu for a coeliac and potentially more education is needed for the waiting staff.

This was our first visit to Salty's in it's new incarnation as pizzeria, pasta and bar. It was excllent and a welcome addition to Yarmouth. It has been taken over by the team from The Hut at Colwell Bay. Completely different from The Hut but the same level of quality and professionalism. We had the calamari, a Diavola pizza and the Arrabiata pasta. Coincidentally we were just back from 10 days in Naples/Ischia/Amalfi. The calamari was better than anything we had there. Proper squid pieces na incredibly light tempura style batter. Outstanding. The pizza could have held it's head high anywhere in Naples and the Arrabiata was delightful with a perfectly restrained amount of sauce. Oh and an excellent green salad. Great work.

We visited for a lunch in the beautiful upstairs dining room. The staff were very friendly and polite and their attention to detail was fantastic. We had the fish of the day which was monkfish, a very generous portion cooked on the bone. It was a beautiful piece of fish cooked to perfection and served with broccoli and buttered potatoes. Our starters were superb and the whitebait was crispy and delicious as was a beautifully crafted crab salad with charred grapefruit. The crowning glory was the dessert of jelly with cucumber sorbet, just the most perfect dessert which felt like eating a Pimms. One of the cleverest desserts I’ve seen in a long time. My dessert was the chocolate and banana dessert, it was rich and indulgent and sates that sweet hit at the end of a meal. If visiting Yarmouth do not pass up a chance to eat here. Salty's is an absolute gem of a seafood focussed restaurant. Both the exterior and interior were high end, with an excellent menu and wine options. The food was extremely well cooked and presented, and tasted so fresh it could have jumped straight out of the nearby Solent onto the plate. So why not a full 5 stars....the only alcohol free beer option was San Miguel, now for those who've tried it I know you won't be drinking it again! The bread sharing starter oddly, didn't turn up with any side plates and really needed oil and balsamic to dip into, especially if focaccia is in the mix! Would I visit again, absolutely! Would like to see a few more options on the alcohol free side and maybe some more chilled music as it was erm rather eclectic given the quality of the food on the plate. Great job guys, can't wait to return!

All though I found some of the dishes quite inventive, I also found the plates lacking from what is fresh fish. Previous to going to the restaurant I visited my local fish monger in Freshwater where the was some beautiful Bass, Bream, scallops, and fresh mussels all locally caught. I do not understand why none of this is on their menu?? I actually would not mind if they bought in Atlantic tiger prawns which are frozen at sea to use as a dish or to dress up their plates as I understand not all fish is caught locally but there was none on there menu. I found there menu to be overrated as a sea food bar/restaurant as in this concept it falls well short. We paid £130.00 for two people so we tried hard to find a substantial plate and for me the only plate that really stood out was risotto. We won’t be rushing back nor recommending Salties which is a real shame.

Outstanding. Service lovely. Surroundings really tip top. And such a fresh colour scheme and vibe. Much larger than you first imagine when you realise they have upstairs too. But what really makes this place 100% FIVE STARS is the quality of cooking. Aged beef Carpaccio to start. A hint of truffle, but not too strong. I don't really care for truffle, but this was so subtle it was lovely. A hefty portion of 'catch of the day' skate wing pan fried and roasted to perfection, delicious. Bakewell tart, with cherries and kirsch sorbet. Well I elected to change the sorbet for ice cream, not a hint of an issue for them by the way, and this dessert, with its cherries soaked in kirsch sprinkled and drizzled around the soft almost gungy cake, was one of the best desserts I have had the pleasure to consume this past decade. Outstanding. The same word with which I began!

The restaurant has been redecorated with new owners which looks lovely. The service from the staff was excellent. However the food and cocktails were not 5 star and could do with some improvement. Food was overall was too salty and quite expensive, charging similar to other restaurants in the area that produce better dishes. Cocktails were mediocre. I probably wouldn't revisit in all honesty as it's not as expected. I think for us the food and cocktails let us down. The dishes in its previous life were much better and had the wow factor. I felt 3 star was too low and 4 to high. Hopefully you take the feedback inboard and make some changes. The staff however were excellent and a nice touch with the live music upstairs.

Found saltys when I searched for a fish and chips restaurant in Yarmouth last saturday whilst visiting the isle of wight for the day, when we arrived there the man behind the bar told us that they don't serve food till evening time which was absolutely gutting as we were starving and drove miles to get there. They had some snacks available but they just didn't cut it. Would be a good idea to change their Google listing to let people know they don't offer fish and chips in the day. We drive to Ryde in the end as was unable to find food in Yarmouth, which was bizarre at 2pm on a saturday. Looked like a lovely place though, and manner spoke to was very helpful and pleasant.

I am very sorry Salty's! BUT, you can charge me £6 for a local beer all day long, but don't dare sit me on a rickety wooden bench and serve me at a wobbly table, likewise I'm happy to pay £14 for small fish & chips but at least serve it on a proper functional plate (and not some composite board where the chips fall off) make sure it's really fresh (mine was a bit 'tired') and above all make sure the batter is not too thick and soggy (mine was). The menu looked interesting and certainly the oysters looked good dressed with seaweed but at £18 for 6... I think you're having a laugh this is not a swish place in the South of France. Sort the furniture out, paint over the ugly graffiti ceiling and if you really have to play thrashy music, install some decent speakers. So, expensive, fish & chips were very disappointing, irritating furniture & music choice ruined the ambience. Try harder please!

Please do be aware that on Saturday evenings the bar below has insanely loud live music, competing with the also loud music in the restaurant. Customers standing on the tables in the bar downstairs regularly banging on the ceiling (our floor). Staff feel that it is all part of the atmosphere, but that certainly wasn't our view. Eating food whilst your chest is vibrating to the music downstairs is unpleasant and having two different sets of music makes for cacophony not atmosphere. Positives are that the food is very good, with generous portions, but we couldn't leave soon enough. We certainly wouldn't go again on any day, but certainly avoid Saturdays unless you enjoy that sort of thing.

We were looking for a nice restaurant in Cowes for lunch on Saturday and found this one through TA. We had the most delicious meal served by the two sons (owners). They told us the restaurant has been in the family for over 30 years and you can tell this is an owner-run restaurant. They put such care into everything. Will definitely visit again.

I usually go to Wights for fish and chips as they are excellent. However, due to upgrading, I found they were closed. The nearest fish and chip shop was Tony’s.So I thought I would give them a try.Unfortunately, due to the ridiculously small portions,I won’t be going back.I don’t see how they could charge so much for about a dozen or so chips.I had to pay an extra £2 to get enough for two people.Wights are always excellent and not swamped in grease like Tony’s.Shame.

We stopped off to get some chips and a batterd sausage and fish cake on a Saturday lunchtime after a walk on the nearby beach. The lady was lovely and our food was delicious and very well priced. The sausage was one of the best it was absolutely delicious we will be back again.
