Fantastic fish and chips. The fish is baked to order rather than deep fried in batter. You have to wait 10 mins because everything is cooked to order. Marvellous.

Very cheap for the quality, beautiful food, gravy was perfect! Lovely welcoming staff, and great atmosphere ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Been here tonight for fish and chips and it was delicious it was cooked to order so lovely and fresh I asked for batter which I got the fish was so white the staff were lovely and friendly will definitely be back

A victim of its own success sadly. I can’t fault the food, but recently every telephone order has been incorrect. Totally different orders handed out for what was actually ordered. Too much hassle so sadly now an ex customer. I can be bothered to repeatedly trail back when time is precious. Fed up of being given food I can’t eat. What a shame because it was a great chippy. I don’t think it can cope with the level of customers now 😢

I ordered large Cod, chips, mushy peas, Coca-Cola and two Tartare sauce, and I was not disappointed. Signage in the chippy says they cook in beef dripping and it certainly tastes good as a result. Thankyou!

Great food, large portions at a fair price. Lovely atmosphere and the staff were super friendly and helpful.

Genuinely such a brilliant experience. Restaurant was absolutely packed (and rightly so!) but we arrived without a reservation and were more than happy to wait while a table was sorted for us, but I think we got lucky as one opened up fairly quickly and staff were friendly and chatty while we waited. Staff are busy but service never felt slow. Food was incredible. Prices were surprisingly very, very reasonable! The menu had loads of options and something for everyone (assuming seafood is your thing!). There’s a great kids menu available for our toddler too. Really cannot recommend Colman’s enough - definitely a must visit in South Shields. Special thanks to Lana, who was so kind as friendly and really went out of her way to make it a great experience. Will 100% be back asap!

Amazing food huge portions, friendly staff 2 things to consider… do I need that starter and a bib for the chowder well worth it !!

We visited here yesterday and had Afternoon Tea. We received a lovely welcome. The establishment was very clean. Our food arrived and was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff were friendly, polite, and professional. We will certainly come back in the near future. Views of the North Sea and St Mary's Lighthouse and everyone enjoying the pleasant weather.

The most crispiest batter and tastiest white flaky cod. Chips were delicious too. We had batter bits, curry sauce and mushy peas.

Staying in skinningrove for 3 weeks and visited this place twice. Lovely and clean and the food was delicious

Chips a mix of oven and real very over done no atmosphere at all staff didn't want to talk

If I could rate have higher than 5 stars I would , the cheeseburger battered with chips and curry almost made me bust it was that good
