When visiting Redcar today, there was a few options for fish and chips. But looking at reviews this place seemed the best for a sit down experience! Well, I’m glad we chose this establishment for our lunch. The restaurant was very clean and had lovely decor and staff were immediately friendly and welcoming. We had two small cod and chips, which were still generous. Curry sauce tasty, fish = fresh and was not greasy and light. Kids meal was good value and staff ensured the food was cooled down for the toddler in our group! Which we appreciated! Will visit again on our next visit to Redcar beach.

Restaurant was very busy but staff were still very pleasant and helpful! Food was steep however, wasn't too bad considering on the coast and in a restaurant. Thank you for a pleasant visit. Restaurant was kept clean and tidy. I liked the decor as well, well themed for the coast. Thank you again to the staff for making us feel welcome as quickly as they could. Thank you to the lady who cracked a joke with my 6 yr old nephew about his fish being just for him. Very kind of you to acknowledge him in such a fun way. The only thing i didnt like was the queuing outside to wait to be seated. Due to space i dont think an alternative would be possible for such a popular restaurant. Take out part was next door, we noticed a very long queue, which to me proves popularity of the chippy.

Prices are just Brilliant and we came to meet up with friends and The Service was so Lovely and The Staff will have a Banter with you as you get served. We got Change from our Bill and this is were we really do see that Olivers Fish and Chip Restaurant really is taking into account the Cost of Living But That people Still want Fish and Chips hence why they have kept their prices to what people can afford. Lovely Mushy Pea's by the way. This Restaurant is well worth a Visit when your in The Lovely Town Of Redcar. Chips were of 100% Quality Standard and cooked to perfection. Well done to the Whole Team.

Ordered the small cod and chips special was just the right amount of food on plate, very tasty, fish tasted nice and fresh, the wait staff very helpful, restaurant was nice and clean, will visit again

Extremely slow service, very rude staff, a few people walked out due to them being an hour and still not having their food. Waited 30 minutes for ours. Staff weren’t very polite, had an attitude because we had a pram with us, sighing everything… would not come back. Ended up walking out in the end.

Queued for over half an hour. Customers inside with finished meals, appeared to be killing time inside, even though the queue outside would be visible, to them. Fish and chips were nice enough. Especially the fish. However, I would advise anyone to check prices of extras’, as in tartare sauce and sweetener and don’t assume they are free.

First time visit Staff were really lovely, I couldn’t have asked for better. My husband said the fish was 10/10 and the portions were a good size for a reasonable price and the drinks were branded which makes a difference to me. We will definitely be back Thank you for a lovely meal

Wow gone from the best takeaway to got to be the worst. Still expensive but now very small portions & fish was tasteless slop. Not sure if it was due to being a hot day with lots of visitors rather than the usual regulars. I will be looking for alternatives after this occasion

Everybody says sea breeze is the best in redcar but I disagree, Oliver's is much better and less greasy.

Our Group of 7 came to Oliver's Fish & Chips Restaurant for our North East Business Meeting Dinner Break and can we say that we all had a brilliant time. The Fish and Chips was Piping Hot anf was served with a nice Seaside Smile. one of us in our Business Group Gavin is such a Faddy Eater and we are pleased to inform you that he left nothing Berhind. Cups of Tea and Bread and Butter was the Bee's Knee's and Lovely Friendly Staff. By Heck Love , first can we say as a family say Hot food ,Lovely Staff and Nice fresh Bread to mop our plates up with. Nice Clean Toilets for when you got to spend a penny and can we just say ' They was Really Clean" ' 10 our of 10 " that will do us .You can see the staff all work hard and as Northerners we loved your mushy Pea's they were spot on , Fair prices for a family to feed on and we would like to come back on our next holiday. What a right fantastic feed we all had xx

we come from Greece to meet up with family and they take us to this Chippie Restaurant. it is fantastic, we eat . we laugh. we have to say the big thank you to the ladies and gentlemen who look after us, we need to use the Toilets and they clean and we thank you the staff clean them as so many people in the chippie . we like your fish and chippie and we like the Gravy but " Mushy Pea's ' we take that taste back to Greece with us and we would like to try that on our home made Kebab's ! The wife she smile and say 'Leave the Mushy with Oliver's they know what they doing' with a big smile we love you and thank you for the good food .

Food was nice but took ages to order

Standard seaside fish and chips. Curry sauce was very runny and lacked flavour. At £17.40 for a large haddock, chips and curry sauce it is over priced. We were offered additional sauces and when the bill arrived it turns out we were charged 30p each for the tiniest of tubs of tomato ketchup and tartar. I requested tartar and the amount lasted for about 3 mouthfuls. Couldn't see the 30p charge on the menu. Toilet was very unpleasant, soiled but through no fault of the previous user, there was no toilet brush but also no visible cleaning schedule so not sure how often they get checked. All in all, I'd potentially get a takeaway but it's nothing to shout home about with hidden charges and overpriced average food with dirty toilet facilities.

Oliver's Fish and Chips really is worth a Visit .Thank you to the lovely Staff and thank you for the hot food served with a gem of a smile. Hot Crunchy Batter wraps the Gorgeous fish and the Hot Chips are of a Generous portion too. Fish and Chips by The Seaside Redcar And may we say your Mushy Pea.s was a delight to try and eat for the first time for us all and you won us over Yummy Yummy.

Fish cooked to perfection. Fabulous. We ordered a small cod to take out for our hound, which involved a member of staff going across the street to the take-out section. She did this with a smile and brought it to our table. Good old-fashioned excellent customer service. Thank you. Looking forward to returning 5*

Beautiful tasty fish and chips with fast efficient and friendly service

Blooming Heck Now this is what Real Fish and Chips Taste Like and The Mushy Pea's are just wonderful and Scream North East Genuine Attention to " The Want of a Good Dip In Our Chips" We stood and waited to be served and when it was our turn The Attention to Detail was Lovely. Bread Butter and a Splash of Lush Gravy too. You are lovely People and we can not thank you all enough and that goes to out to All Staff Members.

Favourite place to go for fish and chips fish is always battered perfectly and chips are spot on.

Hi folks ,i called into Olivers for my lunch today with it been such a cold day i really fancied a hot meal ,well ...i was greeted so loveley by the owner ( mike ) and his also lovely staff ,the place looks Amazing too ,very high end finish and lovely wall to ceiling glass windows at the front of the place ,i ordered a large cod ,with scraps ( of course 🙂) a bread bun and a pot of curry sauce and Woweeee I HAVE TO SAY Guys from me starting my meal & throughout every mouthful until id finished was Absolutely Delicious....i would not give Olivers 10/10 ....As is was SOOO much better .......i have to leave them this review from myself with an extremley satisfied too say 11/ 10 WELL DONE Olivers 😍 Loved every bitefull ❤️🙏

It was a cold and breezy day so rather than eat take away on the front we popped into Olivers Restaurant for a late sit down lunch. There are seats upstairs and down. We were seated downstairs and I was lucky enough to have a sea view! Staff were efficient, waitress service to your table. Portion size was good. We had fish and chips twice, one large, one regular and 2 teas (one Earl Grey!) for just shy of £35. The fish was delicious; light and crunchy and the chips just right too. Lots of customers, so it appears other people were enjoying it too! Would recommend if you can stretch to eating out of the cold!

Been to this takeaway today with my children and ordered for myself and my children. After paying for the orders, i was told by the cashier to wait outside with my children. I didn't think much of it straight away, but when we got outside, it was windy and freezing, and I realized we were the only people who were told to wait outside, and the premise was not overcrowded. and everyone else before and after us were waiting for their orders inside. I got back in with my children. We did not like the cashier's approach and the atmosphere it created.

My mum and I really enjoyed the food here, fish, chips, mushy peas, bread & butter and a pot of tea. Had a short wait outside as the place was rammed, once inside it was clean, tidy and toasty warm. Attentive, chatty, pleasant staff only issue is finding available parking close by but barring that 10/10

Booked a Table for a Saturday Pre Christmas chippy lunch as a treat ! Every time we visit the area we just have to pop by Oliver's, either take-a-way eaten on the seafront, or proper sit in treat, fantastic chips, and lovely staff, always friendly and helpful ....our chippy of choice every time x

Visited Oliver’s restaurant today with my daughter. Welcoming staff and the restaurant has such a lovely decorative style and is immaculate. We both had the cod and chips special and the food was delicious, a lovely latte too. We will be visiting Oliver’s again on our next visit to Redcar.

Came here a few years back and the food was lovely; as were the staff. We booked in again this year and the food continues to be just as delicious and the staff remained friendly and helpful. Best fish and chips in Redcar.

Visited yesterday with my Brother and Boyfriend. Absolutely loved the place, the decor is fun and quirky (gonna need that Seagull ornament btw haha) very beach and seaside themed. Plus if you sit downstairs you can see the sea. Loved the veggie selection, lots to choose from. Staff are friendly, attentive, chatty and polite. Was served promptly. Food arrived quickly and portions are big so be hungry haha. Everything freshly prepared and cooked. My Boyfriend had the Haddock and chips, demolished it he loved it, the quality and freshness can't be beaten (he is a chef so he knows) would highly recommend. Toilets are clean and well maintained. Loved it would definitely return.

Always busy even when they open at 11.30. If you go early you have to queue to get in even though there are tables free but this is regulate the delivery of freshly prepared food to customers. We've never been disappointed by the food or the service. It is possible to reserve a table for the time of your choosing and there is one clean toilet available. Wheelchairs are catered for. There is seating upstairs as well as downstairs. I recommend upstairs if you are lucky enough to get a table by the windows.

Food is good but what's the point in preordering if you still have to wait 15-20 minutes because your order isn't even ready when you arrive? Might as well have just went to seabreeze, only ordered here to avoid a que.

I found them very greasy won't be back . Service poor overpriced for what you get.not a patch on whitby fish n chips ie the magpie trenchers hadleys.

The fish was beautifully fresh, absolutely perfectly cooked and the batter really light and crisp. The vegetarian pie was fantastic and they even heated a purely vege fryer, which was appreciated by our vegetarian. Service was friendly and attentive.
