Quite simply the best tasting Fish and Chips in Newcastle! Beautifully cooked and served with the chefs own tartar sauce. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Believe me, if you enjoy fish and chips you need to visit George's!

Popped in whilst out shopping. Didn't expect anything special but we were shown to a really cute little booth like being at the sea side. The place was spotlessly clean and the staff were pleasant and efficient. We both ordered the chippy tea but swapped out cups of tea for coffee. The coffee was excellent (and I'm a coffee snob) When the fish and chips arrived we were very pleased. Piping hot, lovely chips, not too greasy and the batter was fabulous. Price.? I think about £12 each for a sit down lunch with a drink which is incredibly reasonable. Seaside fish and chips in the town. Result

This place does the best fish and chips, batter so light and fluffy, and the staff are very friendly nothing is too much bother great place will be coming back

I have just read a negative review about "George" and cant understand it. The place has a great atmosphere and the staff are friendly, happy and helpful. The food was excellent and the chips were perfect, Maybe the person who made the negative comments was at a different place! Its not your normal fish and chip place but something a bit special. We dont often get into Newcastle and eat as there are so many bland eating places. This is just a bit different and very good.
