Super clean, fresh yet traditional feel. Lovely staff and amazing food. Prices are competitive but the quality shows the bargain you are getting.

The best chippy in the area nice white flaky fish, proper chips, and their own mushy peas unbelievably tasty. The fish in the photo is small. I hope their standard and quality never changes. Perfect

I am a regular customer and went along yesterday (good Friday) to join the queue that was 20-30 strong and it was well worth the wait. With it being probably their busiest day of the year, the service and food quality was as it is on usual visits.... A very high standard. I would like to know actually how many customers did you serve yesterday???

A family generation have taken me here both my grandad and my dad since it opened in 1962. I don’t think there’s a better place in Newcastle that can match the quality. Fully recommended.

This is not your average chippy. The food here is absolutely spot on. The service is really professional and our burgers, fish and chips were worth every penny. The garlic mayo is to die for as well, it tasted like proper garli ai'oli

Charged me £14 per fish and chips when the board says otherwise. When I asked them why they said it's a price increase. Shocking practice and extortionate price for something below par.

First time been here .Fish and chips absolutely gorgeous. Fish is battered not to thickly made it better .my husband had the scampi really nice .we travelled from morpeth and well worth the experience .Staff also very nice and friendly x

Visiting my daughter in Newcastle and so we decided to get a chippy tea x no regrets the chips were just like homemade ones x the battered sausages were crispy and extremely tasty x the curry sauce was of perfect consistency and the pineapple rings were the best I’ve ever tasted infact they were perfection in batter x the whole meal was beautiful and not at all greasy x the best in Newcastle by far

In my view, best Independent fish and chip shop in the area with a very broad selection. Prices reflect high quality

First visit and it did not disappoint. Staff very friendly and the fish and chips were absolutely A+. Not the cheapest place but where is nowadays. Went at 15:30, was told by the staff, any later and the queue is down the street.

Otro bacalao pequeño impresionante con patatas fritas cada uno para mamá y yo. El bateador fue ligero y profundamente gratificante. ¿Las patatas? Nos sorprendieron. Me atornillé codiciosamente en un bollo enmantecado. Fresco. A veces cuento 10 empleados. Eso muestra el nivel de exigencia. Todos los artículos fritos cocinados frescos. Sigo asustado.

Honestly the best place to get fish and chips from. Everything is clearly cooked fresh and doesn't leave you feeling bloated/heavy. Extremely light and delicious. As good as the food is - the staff are equally incredible. Laura in particular is wonderful. She is so friendly and a huge credit to the team. Every time I visit she remembers me and is amazing. Thank you as always.

Food has always been spot on from here, this is my first time having it delivered rather than collection, fish was lovely and hot, but chips were cold, and more scrappy bits than actual chips, which was disappointing.

(Estándar) Encontré el pescado graso, pero estaban muy ocupados, así que dejé la mayoría del pescado rebozado era agradable y escamoso. Volveré a probarlos la próxima vez que esté en Newcastle.

Unreal fish and chips worth travelling for

Always busy so always been fresh food when I've been in. Plenty of staff in at busy times so you aren't left twiddling your thumbs for ages. Ok portions and decent fresh fish and chips. Everything I got was good could have maybe had more chips and thicker fish but still decent stuff. Amy serving was very good so give her a pay rise.

Fish and chips are unreal. Lovely clean shop. Love how they put up what potatoes they are using and which boat caught the fish. Nice touch guys.

Can not fault this place. 10/10 every time, and not a chippy like it for miles. Drive from Gateshead every time we fancy one as no one near us can come close!

We very often get food from here but were Very disappointed today - We left nearly all of the chips as they were all like the ends of chips and not very crisp - The cheese savoury was left as it was very very salty - sausage, curry, gravy ok
