Oxley Fish And Kebab in Newcastle upon Tyne

I ordered a large kebab wrap and got a small I am not happy!!

Driver got order wrong, Then my mom called and the guy on other side said if you opened it you keep it and they'll send my order. then this guy comes to my doorstep and accused my mother of lying saying "I'm the owner I never said that" When my mom didn't even speak to him I never seen someone so rude. Unbelievable how you disrespected my mother. You are the owner sure, but you AREN'T God that you act like you can't make a mistake, To top this all of look at this pettiness , Lastly you didn't need to mention so many times what you are, what you are is a liar.

Very greasey, sauce was like water and more batter than fish

Food never arrived, rang the shop as it said it had been delivered and refused to send another

Staff are always welcoming and chatty. Fish and chips are cooked fresh on ordering. Still piping hot when I got home. Crispy batter, tastey fresh fish and chips.

Lovely clean chips and a good portion size. Haddock was lovely and sweet, cut perfectly making lovely thick pieces. Highly recommended. Only bought though as there was a promotion on. it's a very expensive treat now.

This is the 3rd time we have ordered and collected food from here. The food is always lovely, the chips are fine the fish is fresh and the batter is crisp. There is always plenty of it, really enjoable experience.

Not happy with my order. Paid £18 for mixed kebab with chips. Barely any chicken, the most rubbish shredded donner and no chips. Waste of money

The fish and chips were piping hot and delicious to eat.

Fish not fresh - grey dull fish with a bit of an odour. Oil needed changed.. batter was oily. Chips been lying around.. all in all not a good experience - only had a few mouthfuls before throwing away . Would not go back.

As always the fish was perfect chips good and plentiful always a treat. This is the first time we have booked on line and collected but it all worked perfectly.

Delivery driver couldn't find our flat -- I had to go out in rain to look for him then wouldn't hand over the food because I didn' t have the 4 number code by the time we got the food it was cold and unpleasant.

placed order at 16:00, with an estimated delivery of 20 to 30 minutes, an hour after placing the order with an estimated delivery time of 18:00 phoned the business to request a cancellation and refund. They refused and said the food was just leaving with the courier. At around 18:30 got a call from the courier trying to make delivery two and a half hours after the order was placed, an hour and a 1/2 after they refused to cancel the order because it was leaving with courier. Avoid like the plague

Foods normally here within half an hour this time turns up 2 hours later stone cold driver blaming shop shop blaming driver changed delivery time 4 times

Placed an order with them at 16:00 today with an estimated delivery time of 20 - 30 minutes. They just keep delaying delivery more and more financially managed to get through to them after an hour to request they cancel the order only for them to refuse and state the order will be with me soon. It now has an estimated delivery time of two hours after the order time and half an hour after I will have left the hotel. I can only conclude that this establishment is not actually a restaurant of any description but simply a criminal enterprise scamming people out of their money for food they have not the slightest intention of delivering. Avoid like the plague.

One of the best fishes i've ever had! Chips were very good as well. Everything was nice and hot. Not the biggest fan on the curry, more of a chinese/indian curry like very spicy too but was still very nice. Box was a bit soggy but not a problem! Loved it very much will be ordering again.

Garlic sauce was very watery, chips were old and cold, my son couldn’t eat the kebab as it was to thick!! Delivery time was fine but the full food ended up in the bin!!

Had to collect after waiting an hour and a half and wasn’t offered the the delivery charge or service charge back! Won’t be ordering again!!

Do not order the scampi, it is NOT wholetail, and small, and it was burned,, get better scampi from Poundland

Don’t expect to buy a take away and my food to be left on a door step. I have a ring doorbell delivery guy ring bell. By the time I get to the front door the driver is in his car.

First time I've had to complain about this place as food is normally lovely, however today it was not.. Delivery time kept getting changed and by the time it did eventually get here the box it was in was that soggy it was almost falling apart and the food was freezing cold.Its obviously been prepared and put in the box when I put my order in and then left to sit and get cold and soggy till a delivery driver was found! Massive thumbs down this time

Had fish and chips and a bun. The fish was nicely cooked and tasty, the chips nice, bread bun was really soft and fresh. Soooo much better than A1 Chippy. This place will be my regular now

Never received the order, when phoned up was told they can’t do anything about it…

After having to remind the person who takes the orders 3 times what I wanted I should have known. I have been here before and it was spot on however this time was different. Cod bites, chips and curry was perfect. My “large” donner kebab was tiny. I wanted lettuce and onion on which I got, in a very small amount. It would have made more sense if they had forgot to put it on. Got mint yoghurt instead of garlic sauce which wasn’t that bad but not what I ordered. I did actually ring up to tell them and they weren’t arsed at all. They were very busy like, 2 people in that shop at a time and their heads seem to fall off.

Never again! Followed progress all along on the app. Watched food leave restaurant with courier and followed it's progress. Watched estimated delivery times get later and later by the minute as the food got further away on the map. Arrived 55 minutes after ordering. Asked courier what had happened. At first he blamed the restaurant. Tried telling me he'd come straight from there. when I told him I'd been watching the app - get this! He said "don't know but perhaps if you tipped you'd get your food faster". As if it's not expensive enough. Never again!
