The best restaurants serving Seafood food in East of England

Después de haber oído hablar de esta camioneta alrededor de Bedford, hicimos un punto de rastrearlo para probar su fayre, me alegro de haberlo hecho. Mi esposa optó por un Bacalao grande y papas fritas pequeñas, que se servía en pipas calientes con una encantadora masa crujiente y un suculento pescado servido con papas fritas para morirse, sal y vinagre añadido al placer, elegí los bocados de Bacalao ya que no tenía demasiada hambre y mirando el Bacalao rebozado grande me hizo pensar en similares pero más pequeños, de nuevo servido en pipas calientes con una generosa porción de papas fritas pequeñas. En general tan bueno si no mejor que lo mismo de una tienda de pescado y patatas fritas.

Nice freshly battered f&c from Wong's, I always call in advance so I'm not waiting for it to be cooked. Beware of the spring rolls and battered sausage as they are inedible

Had fish and chips probably won't go again.

I have purchased from The Godfather previously, and loved the fish and chips, and got home before they got cold. Tonight however, I ordered via Just Eat. Paid at 1825...for 2 bits of cod, 1 chips. I onion rings. At 1950 I got the call from the delivery man...the fish and chips were swimming in oil and too cold to eat...the onion rings were hard and not edible I am very disappointed, in the Godfather and delivery. Not to mention throwing away good money

It's ok food was freshly cooked

Used to be a regular here, but once they got taken over we stopped as the attitude of the staff was appalling and the food became horrible. We stopped on the way home last night and order Cod and Chips and a portion of Chips, when we got home we had been given 1 portion of chips and 2 pieces of cod, so they couldn't even get a simple order right! The fish was ok, but very greasy, the chips just went straight in the bin, most were green and tasted rotten. Having not been in there since 2018, we will never return...I am confused by the positive reviews as our experience was one never to be repeated!

While waiting for my food an employee dropped a customers order on the dirty floor. He then picked it up and continued to wrap it for the not present customer. So I did some checking. On the window a hygiene rating of 5 is displayed. When I looked online their rating is actually a 3. Back when this outlet was run by a Chinese family it was superb, but since it changed ownership standards have fallen by a very long way. I cannot recommend this business in any way, particularly after witnessing this.

Myself and my wife have been 7 weeks running most of all for the carvery always super ...as the chef knows me he always gets me some peas ready ...but this week we have something from the menu...I had pawn cocktail and rump steak for lunch very very nice indeed ....the wife had lamb shanks and a desert all out of this word ....beautiful

Simply the best fresh taste ever. No we're else in Colchester comes anywhere close to this Fish & Chip shop. Highly recommend by me, I've been to many others but I now stick with this one at the Willows

I couldnt give average, because too many scrappy chips, even thought the decent chips were nice. I usually purchase my chips from a shop closer to home, but seeing my Dad earlier and driving passed here on the way home, I thought I would save myself a journey and try out the new chippy. Being Veggie, I only have chips as often nothing available or I have to wait a while for it to be cooked. A cardboard half box costing £3.20, (40pence more than my local chippy.), but if nice and plenty of them, I didnt mind. Got home to find there was literally about 6 decent size chips *4/5"), and the rest were scrappy small ends of the potato about an inch long, the decent size chips where nice. Maybe I got the last of a batch of chips, before they fried more, I dont know, However, I will never find out, as I will not be back.

The worst fish and chips I've ever had in my life avoid it all costs. The batter looks like rice pudding taste absolutely disgusting. I've tried to call them and they won't even pick up the phone. I'm gonna place it in a bag and tomorrow afternoon when they're open, I'm going to throw it in the manager's face.

Been meaning to go here for a long time and so glad we finally made it! It’s a delightful restaurant with super friendly staff. As for the food… well it was great and this place deserves its reputation. The prices we felt were reasonable, remember fresh fish and seafood isn’t a factory farmed commodity!! We can’t wait to go back soon… my only recommendation is book first, we walked in and were lucky!! Glad we did..!! Enjoy…
