The most disgusting fish and chips I have ever eaten. I have felt so sick since eating it. The sausages I wouldn't even feed my dogs.. chewy, nasty meat. Soggy chips with the odd uncooked chip added in. Normally I wouldn't leave a negative review but it was so awful, I felt obliged to let others know to avoid!!

Chips were terrible and more like a pile of mash. Cold and greasy. Shame as wongs used to be great

Walked in to one worker with their finger up their nose, and quite blunt service. Got my food quite quick but my cod didn't taste very good. Personally i feel service should be better. Also asked for veggie options and they didn't name the veggie burger u til i had to find it.

Just plain horrible, had savaloy and chips at lunchtime. Chips were not crispy just soggy as to the savaloy, think of it as one of those rubbery chews you give your dog, totally inedible. Cannot think of anything positive to say about this food outlet

Core, pretty sure the chips were flash fried as they were hard, I had a battered burger and quality of burger poor and batter came of when unwrapped and finally the King Rib tasted absolutely awful, very low quality. I called to complain and told them about the King Rib and they just said they would change suppliers. No refund so never mentioned the burger. Won't ever visit again which is a shame.

If you are looking for great fish and chips you did not come to the WONG plaice...Decor was a blast from the past and chinese batter was light and crispy. They put in fresh fish for me and it was still really quick. Very friendly service. The chips are real chip shop chips not oven chips!

Nice freshly battered f&c from Wong's, I always call in advance so I'm not waiting for it to be cooked, but it doesn't take then long to cook (10-15 min).

We stopped here to get our dinner after a long day out, staff was very friendly and food arrived quickly, however, the chips were horrible, tasted like oven chips really disappointing

The regular cod and chips is excellent.Large tasty fillet with crispy batter and very reasonably priced.Best fish and chips in the area.

We have been going to Mr Wongs for years, and we can honestly say we have never had a bad meal. In fact, we have had absolutely lovely chips, and the haddock is some of the best I’ve ever had! I cannot recommend this chip shop highly enough.

Probably the worst fish and chips I ever had. The amount of the fish was close to 100 gram or even less. All of it for £10.50. Never again.

Just ordered spring rolls it was awful inside is mush can't tell what your eating when it was mr wong you knew what was in them they were lot bigger very disappointed

We have been back to Wong's over the last few weeks for our Cod & Chips and they have been brilliant every time. The service is both pleasant and very professional. The Cod is really fresh, splitting into flakes when cut, the chips are cut from real potatoes with no iron hard brown splinters. Really one of the best Fish & Chip Shops that we can recall.

Over the past weeks the chips have gone in the bin as they were just scraps Tonight I complained and asked for good chips but got home to find the chips were worse After using for the past fifteen years their food has went down to rubbish Do not recommend to anyone who wants a decent meal

I ordered battered sausage and chips, kids fish. When I got home with my order I had no sausage and the fish was inedible. The staff are very young and not very good at taking your order clearly, I think they should have more mature staff with experience of how to take your order so that there are no mistakes. As I live a bit away I didn't go back to complain as it would probably fall to deaf ears. I won't be using it again. Disgusting.

Walked in and was told they are not open. I apologised and asked what time they would be open as it says 4:30 on line. The person turned to someone else and shouted we should be open it’s 4:30. The response was nah we will open at 4:45. Waited the 15 minutes. Luckily didn’t have kids with me as swearing loudly the entire time - I genuinely felt like I was in a youth club! On a positive the food was ok and the lady who eventually served me was the complete opposite and very polite.

This is our local chip shop that I’ve used for years and safe to say we won’t be returning. Half my order was missing so I rang and complained for the first time to be told they was checking cctv which took took 2 MINUTES So I stayed on the line. I was told the order was definitely put in the bag and the manager couldn’t do anything about it! WHY WOULD I LIE! The situation was handled appallingly Safe to say my children didn’t get there dinner so I took the whole order back and asked for a refund. So much for supporting local businesses in these hard times they’ve now lost a local customer!! #SHOCKING

Please don’t reheat chips! Also the pie was so tough it may last as long in my stomach as Donald Trump will in the White House. The girl behind the counter needs to be able to speak clearly not mutter. That said the fish was ok.

The fish & chips were absolutely excellent, under new ownership or not, these were faultless. The battered sausage however had more grease than Frankie Valli, otherwise this would have been a 5 star review.

Quality has dropped dramatically since Mr Wong sold out. I suspect cost cutting to maximise proffits, sausages are poor, chips using lower quality potatoes and more smaller pieces, peas and beans have also suffered this plight. They still sell Pukka pies but tend to over cook them so that the pastry becomes hard on the top. However, still better than the chip shop on Broadway.

I regularly used this chippy when I lived in the area, this chippy has been around for quite some time now. They are often busy which speaks volumes as to the quality of food on offer, they have a reasonable menu with a couple of items you wouldn't often expect to see at a chippy (including ribs!) I also found their curry sauce to be exceptional! The shop itself was always clean and tidy and I found the staff to be polite, helpful and efficient! I asked for a large cod and a piece of haddock. When they were due to wrap I asked for the fish not go go in the cardboard trays they took one piece out and went to put it in the paper and it broke into 3 pieces i said i hope you don't expect me to take that piece home the young lads behind the counter all 3 of them and the 2 doing the cooking were having a conversation and before i knew what was happening my order was ready. I walked home and when i got home the piece of broken fish was in the paper. It was cold & dry and the frozen chips were disgusting. This is why i am writing this review because if 5 of them are all standing around laughing and joking while there was only myself and 1 other person in there and that is the sort of customer service they provide they deserve this rating. Hence to say i will not use them again and i will not recommend them ever.

They must have changed the batter since the new owners took over because the 'scraps' aren't the same as I don't eat fish

I bought a single fish a battered sausage a medium chip and curry sauce The chips were nothing but scraps the fish was disgusting and the sausage was average Mr Wong did not seam to be there tonight Wednesday 6th February as before when he is not there the food is rubbish I would not recommend this place for value

These fish and chips have been great for years the only down part since mr Wong left has been the price increase and the removal of the fantastic spare ribs you used to be able to get there only to be replaced with meatless bones that are no comparison.

It's a chippy, there's not much that can be said. At least you can't smell reasty fat!

Whether they have got new suppliers or have chosen to cook cheaper products, I don't know but they have gone down hill.

There are a couple of chip shops closer to us but we much prefer Wongs for quality and cost. Very helpful staff and well cooked food.

Lovely service followed by tasty fish. Had battered haddock and cod, which was fresh. Chips were standard English fare. Portions were very decent, almost large to the point where we couldn't finish all the chips.

The chips tasted reheated the fish was overcooked....really disappointed..we normally go to the fish and chip shop opposite the farmers and as visiting friends went to Wong's as closer... It's worth going a little way up the road.

Its a busy little chippy and you generally have to wait, however fresh fried fish is always best when cooked to order, so i dont mind the wait. Batter is nice n light so doesn't retain to much oil. All in all fairly good, i would give higher rating for middle cut fillet but thats just a personal choice.

La única razón por la que intentamos llevar porque ganó un premio (2º mejor en Peterborough). Cómo lo consiguieron, bien palabras me fallan, el pescado estaba muy seco y no era un buen color acabé poniendo mi! En el lado positivo las patatas fritas eran bonitas. No volvería.

Este es el mejor con diferencia chippy en Yaxley. El pescado es fresco y encantador y raro. No mojada y correosos. Como he visto en otros lugares. El único problema sería hay conforman una larga espera. Pero eso no es un signo de lo popular que es este lugar.

Defo wouldnt rush to go back, Jesus it was rammed and upon being served i see why, given a ticket for my order which happened to be just chips, 25 min wait for a bag of chips, I appriciate folk like fresh food and cooking to order on your busiest night of the week is poor planning, And being served by young stone roses wanna be's with big curtain wedge haircuts hanging all over, Suggest you wear a hair net, Or take note of the Chip shop further up road were hygene and presentation excells and wear uniforms,hats and hair nets. i could have gone to a lake and caught my own fish in the time it took to get served.

Possibly the best fish and chips around here and certainly the best in Yaxley. Huge servings of chips and an excellent selection of food including a good children's menu. Well worth the wait for fish cooked to order.

Is the best chippy I've had and I've been to a few seasides wongs been there several years one on Broadway not bad not good when wongs pack up retires be a sad place his food is brilliant I don't mind waiting get food fresh hot I don't think it's good cooking a lot then leaving it to keep warm so batter goes dry just what you want fish cooked and packed straight away then home to eat it it's a shame wongs does do a restaurant or eat in be packed

Best Fish n chips in Peterborough. The other new one on Broadway is the worst since they reopened what did you do. The fish was dry all batter no taste over priced and processed chicken nuggets the meal was terrible..BUT MR WONGS IS THE BEST AND GREAT VALUE.. I won't go anywhere else again..

If you want good fish & chips you are in the Wong place. Ordered fish, chips and ribs. Besides having to wait for ages, the fish was greasy, the chips were soggy and greasy, the ribs were overcooked and greasy and the wrapping paper was literally dripping with grease. Will I be back? No chance!!

Food is great. The long long wait less impressive. Don't understand why they can't cook enough food during busy times. Understand cooking to order during quiet times but during busy times. Quicker to drive to Stanground than to wait.

Guess all good things come to those to wait. That sums up Wongs. Plenty of staff and good food. But everything is cooked fresh. While that ensures good quality it also means you have to wait. Small price to pay I guess just wish on a busy night like a Friday that they plan ahead and get some fish ready.

The opening and closing times need to be updated!! Website says one thing and when you arrive to order they're closed!! Not impressed....

Excellent local chip shop which always seems to have a queue as it is so good, and has now seen off competition locally again! Well cooked, and very tasy fish and chips.

Always do good chips here, and the service is usually very quick. The prices are very reasonable too. Just fine for your local chippie.
