A good local fish and chips shop with an owner who is friendly and engaging. His food is good, too.

Lovely looking restaurant. Took our lunch down to the riverside nearby. Kids meal was a decent size.

Overpriced, tiny portions, and they charge extra to sit inside the depressing little seating area. Avoid.

Tried this the other evening, cash only is a pia, the batter wasn't great and had a tiny portion of chips...again,not great. Wasn't the worst fish and chips ever but certainly not the greatest hence 3 stars. The curry sauce we had was very watery.

First of all I didn’t notice any sign saying cash only (( Drinks - coffee machine broke the day before Food - I only had plain haddock - which was ok (I didn’t eat the batter due to oil) - and there was no lemon - not even to purchase; no tartar sauce - so for me the fish was just a stomach filler without any pleasure as I was really hungry. Next time I’m won’t get persuaded (( Heavy oily smell and not tasty mayo 3 month after best before ;-)) Paid £22.90 for 2 haddocks and 1 chips. No drinks, no sauces. Won’t be visiting again ((

This place was perfect they are very welcoming and they have a great customer service. My haddock was cooked to perfection and i even got a few extra chips 10/10 the best fish shop in cambridgeshire

The service was very quick and the staff were polite. The food was very good and delectable. We all had sausage and chips and the chips were perfectly crunchy. However it could not get the full 5/5 because I could not pay with my card and had not got any cash on me. Just keep that in mind when purchasing your food

Stopped off here on a return journey from St ives football club today with my son. The cod and chips was amazing and so fresh!! Best cod and chips I've had for a long time. We will be back!!

Whilst visiting the area, popped in here due to the good reviews. Must say they are thoroughly deserved. It was Sunday early evening and so a bit quiet,but the owner was extremely friendly and welcoming,more importantly the Cod,chips and mushy peas were excellent...was debating on going to Wetherspoons to save s bit of money...so glad I didn't!! Bit more expensive but it was like comparing chalk and cheese!! If in the area ...go!!

Without doubt the best place in St Ives for takeaway fish and chips. Always get excellent and friendly service at this family run chippie. Generous portions with plump, battered fish and perfectly cooked chips all freshly cooked to order.

Called here for takeaway cod and chips after a local football game. Clean place, speedy courteous service, excellent fresh and hot food. Five stars all round!

We stay at St Ives for one week every year and always enjoy coming to this Fish & chip shop for one of our meals. This year Oh! What a disappointment. We dined in as usual. A young lad took our order. Did not really know what he was doing. The food was hot and quite nice but the portions were small compared to the the price paid and what I would receive in London for that price. The person in charge was very unfriendly and did not seem to want our custom. When the bill came we was overcharged by around £4.00p. We queried the bill and he blamed the lad for not putting down that two of our party had ordered the Meal Deal which they had. Then he had charged for two cups of tea which when ordering we pacifically had asked if the drink in the meal deal could be a cup of tea and we was told yes. He was not happy to change the bill to the correct amount. Then as one of the ladies had asked for portion of Scraps which normally are given away free in Chippies he charged her £2.00p for them. Also luckily we had cash on us as he told us it was Cash only but we did not see any signs up in the restaurant or on the menu to warn us of this. We will not be returning to this shop ever again and nor will a lot of our friends who also come to St Ives with us every year.

Food was good I had pukka pie and chips , my brother had fish and chips , though nice quality I did think with my pie maybe could of had a few more chips , service was ok possibly slightly pricey

We were on the Ladybird boat and moored up in St Ives. Ordered food for 17 people, cooked on time, piping hot, delicious fish. Service couldn't have been better.

The chips didn't taste fresh, they were tough warm ups. Considering the price of £3.90 for a large portion, I dread to think what a small portion would be. Overall paying £9 for a fish and £3.90 for chips I was really disappointed in the quality and quantity.

Used to use this place about once a month. The fish was always good. However after not going for few months I thought I'd go back in January. Ordered 2 large fish and chips. Absolutely dreadful. The large cod was about 6 inches , dark coloured , strong tasting, wet , thin and very unpleasant. Chip portions not very big. Cost £30. No thanks.

Top halal chippy in St Ives! Stumbled upon this place not knowing it was halal. When we saw it was, we decided to stop in for a late lunch. So glad we did! Staff were very friendly, and the fish and chips was delicious. Tea was a proper cup which was much needed! Plenty of seating. We sat in the space at back which was lovely. Toilet is in back, and was clean. They only take cash, but cashpoints are a minute walk away.

Best fish & chips I’ve had. All cooked to order, generous portions and served piping hot with a lovely mug of tea! Owners are so welcoming and friendly, and remembered our regular order after only 2 visits. We travel 30 miles to eat here, and it’s well worth it.

Fish is cooked when you order which I like but expect a little wait, the owner is friendly and the place is spotlessly clean. Definitely up there with the best fish an chips I’ve had, and certainly the best I’ve had locally.

Had a really warm welcome from the proprietor ,he is a funny guy . Fish freshly cooked and chips were really good ..served in a cardboard box which I really like All in all very good .

They charged me for a large fish and chips which I didn't want. I wanted a medium-sized. They did not ask what I wanted. The elderly guy after me they did the same

Was in the area and in need of food on a Sunday evening, this was open, excellent friendly service, good generous portions and nice well cooked food, if I am in the area again I wouldn't hesitate to use it again.

Cooked to order fish chips mushy peas and tea for 2. Eat in £21 not cheapest but of a good fresh quality and we were hungry.

best fish and chips in stives service is great, the staff are really friendly and always look after you. nearly everything is cooked fresh to order and the quality is far better than any of the other fish and chip shops in the area. I can recommend the halloumi and meat wraps if you dont want fish and you will never be disappointed by the chips. We have take away chips most weeks and have never had any reason to go elsewhere since we found this shop. if you want good fish and chips this is where you will get them

This place is great. The chips are fantastic and the cod is nice and crispy. Very clean inside and everyone I have taken there loves the fish and chips. I’ve also taken my niece and nephew there and they loved it. I am from Hertfordshire but family live locally so whenever I am up this way I always stop by. Owners are also nice and friendly. One thing to improve would be to take card as it’s cash only - but this doesn’t stop it being amazing. The people of St Ives are lucky!

This has now become our local fish and chip shop, solely because the fish is always cooked fresh to order, the portions are generous and great value for money. As for the staff, they have the upmost respect for all customers, and provide a friendly and professional service! It’s a must try! They also offer a few kebabs, grilled chicken etc. Which I am yet to try. Strongly recommend! They deserve all the success!

Good value and fresh tasty food. You can tell everything is freshly made on site which is a huge bonus. I’ve tried a few different fish and chip shops in St Ives but I always end up coming back here. Nice little bonus tonight. I ordered battered sausage and haddock. When I arrived to collect them, the guy told me he was cooking another one because the one he cooked for me “looked small”. Little did I know that when I opened the box, he had put both pieces of haddock in at no extra cost. This little kind gesture is what keeps people like me coming back. Thank you for my delicious meal!

Order 15 portions of fish and chips around Xmas time and every single person loved them. Fresh tasty and soo good. Cant recommend enough.
