Great fish and chips friendly service good portions

Me and my work colleagues after a long day of graft thought we treat ourselves to well deserved fish and chips but I can honestly say this is hands down the most inedible fish and chips I ever had. The only good thing was the portion size of the soggy chips. The saveloy was Baltic cold, the chicken fillet burger wasn’t even in a fillet was just strips of chicken being heated by a lamp that’s not on. The burger was drowned in bbq sauce but it still wasn’t enough to revive the moisture in the burger. If you are thinking about getting food from here, wasn’t worth the wait at the cash point because they don’t take card either. If you are thinking of getting food from here turn around and step into the road because you’ll get better food at the hospital.

There fish is excellent, but has a kebab the meat wast dry and cold , so was the pitta bread , awful worst kebab I’ve had . Which is a shame , wil only go for fish and chips .

Nice chips. Good flavour and not to much oil. Curry sauce wasn't for me bit wasn't horrible. Great service.

Unfortunately the chips we received were awful, stone cold & just horrible.....all the portions we received were thrown away. Very disappointed.

Lovely owners, always really friendly and welcoming. Their food is amazing! Best skinless cod ever and the chips are lovely and fresh and chunky. Everything is cooked perfectly. They don’t accept debit cards, it’s cash only, but there’s a cash point on the corner of the road to get cash from.

Decent portion sizes, good customer service and all cooked perfectly. Highly recommended.

People running the place are so kind and friendly and gave great customer service. They put in a portion of spicy potatoes for free which was extremely kind of them. Will buy from here more often. Amazing place and people.

Paid a visit Thursday lunchtime and ordered fish and chips. It was cooked to order so had to wait and was very happy with it; It was absolutely delicious. Very clean and the staff very polite. I will definitely be back again.

There are several fish and chip shops in Ramsey. White Whale is, by far, the best. The staff are always polite, friendly and happy - always an enjoyable experience to go there. The food itself is great. Batter is crispy and tasty, not soggy. Fish is tasty. Battered sausage is great. Don't bother with the other places in Ramsey. Go straight here.

Husband and I were sitting by the river once eating delicious chips (huge portions)and perfectly battered sausages (the batter was not soggy like some places) and some people from out of the area in a boat could smell them metres away ,they asked where we got them from ,so they took a walk (following our directions)and got their own,they were very impressed too and thanked us repeatedly,so that was four happy customers. Lovely friendly staff.

I get fish & chips from here twice a week and have been doing so for a couple of years now. Always good value, good service, friendly and polite. Very good, highly recommend.

Would like to say a massive thank you to all at the White Whale for stepping up and offering free meals to all those that had suffered flooding tonight. We use White Whale on a regular basis as they do the best fish and chips in the area and we have never had a bad meal from there. Once again a huge thank you for your generosity.

We came here for Saturday lazy lunch and were very satisfied with the service (very friendly) and the food. The chips and cod were fried while we waited so fresh and the portions enormous. Not normally on our menu burt a place to come back to!

It doesn’t matter if you’re after kebabs, burgers or traditional fish and chips this place has perfected it all. Massive portions at great prices, high quality ingredients and ultra friendly staff. The premises are also spotlessly clean. Top notch, all boxes ticked.

For many years, what was Medway Fisheries, was by far, the best Fish & Chip Shop in Ramsey, Medway closed and others opened but in my opinion, were no where near as good as Medway's. If it's fish & chips your after or a cheeky sausage, White Whale is definitely the place to go. The owner and staff are very polite and friendly, definitely ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Always a pleasure visiting, fish is always top qaulity and chips done right!! The rest of the menu is also great if you fancy something different.

I visited the whale on this occasion as the maderia was closed I got 2 bags of chips and 3 pots of peas 7.50 I didn't like them they were cold and in this current situation he refused to use a card payment telling me cash was best and how many of your reveiws are written by your own staff

1 Cod could feed 2, and chip portion feeds 3. Food is excellent. And the service very friendly. The Premises is spotless clean.

Been here quite a few times in the several years they have been opened. The food is always very good and the place is kept very clean. All the staff in there are very friendly and welcoming too.

ive been to the white whale fish bar about 10 times and the chips are some of the best ive tasted -the kebabs are also excellent , shop is extremly clean and staff are very friendly and polite.

We eat at the White Whale at least once a month, it is our chip shop of choice, and this is because the Cod is chunky. The fish flesh is so chunky and flavourful. The batter is good and I always prefer a chip shop that cooks drag chips from local potatoes. I would highly recommend!!

Brilliant visit. Very interesting displays. Even my 8 year old enjoyed it. Especially the hoop game. Lots to see and do. Good book shop too.

Come here regularly easily a five star trip every single time the owners are lovely and the food is absolutely gorgeous is well priced welcome they know what they’re doing and they accept credit and debit cards which is fantastic. I love their burgers and everything is fresh none of that 3 day old rubbish.

Great Service and tasty fish and chips

My wife hired a hall 5 miles away from this fish and chip shop in Ramsey. The hall was at Warboys for my 60th birthday. We tried our local but they were not open at 3 in the afternoon. My wife place a takeaway order for around 25 people. On the order was fish and chips. Pie and chips. Burgers and even kebabs. I was a bit concerned that as we were picking the food up that it would be getting cold and that fish batter would be soft. Once the food arrived all food had everyone’s name on the wrapping so it was soon all given out. The fish and chips were all in boxes keeping the fish crisp and best of all it was all hot. As it was a large order at just over £100 they threw in some few soft drinks and extra chips. For the money we had plenty to eat and all the fish was jumbo size. I enjoyed this much more that going to a restaurant as food does not always come at the same time. This was a very enjoyable afternoon with lovely fish and chips.

The fish and chips have always been nothing but perfect every time we have visited. Prices are very reasonable, portion sizes are EPIC and the staff are always friendly and chatty. Large cod and chips is enough for 2 people to share so order carefully!

Went tin at the weekend different staff really awful chips and even the Pukka pie was soggy. This place was my favourite but I go on holiday and then poor quality. Has it changed hands or something, will give one more try hopefully it was a bad Saturday night.

The white Whale fish bar is an amazing fish bar in the uk to be honest ! They interact with there customers , and give the kids lolly pops where as most people wont go visit you won't regret it !

After eating fish and chips from here myself my partner and my mum was unwell and we hadn't eaten anything else that day so it couldnt have been anything else that made us ill and we all had the fish everyone else that had other products was fine. Really disappointed as we have never had a problem here before but I won't be eating the fish again :-(

Good food, good price friendly service

Not the best fish and chips. Ordered haddock which took 25 minutes and when home 5 minutes later it was dry and tasteless with greasy chips. Two portions the same. Very expensive for poor quality.

These guys are great. Fresh fish and chips, well cooked and piping hot. Also do kebabs and chicken but not tried them. Recommended.

Easily the best chip shop in and around Ramsey and possibly in the Huntingdonshire area. Generous portions (really nice chips!), the fish is good quality and the staff are friendly and attentive. There is other food like chicken and burgers etc available if that's your preference, and you can sit in there and eat too. Clean interior, well lit and you just gotta check it out.
