Chantry Fish And Chips in Ipswich

I couldnt give average, because too many scrappy chips, even thought the decent chips were nice. I usually purchase my chips from a shop closer to home, but seeing my Dad earlier and driving passed here on the way home, I thought I would save myself a journey and try out the new chippy. Being Veggie, I only have chips as often nothing available or I have to wait a while for it to be cooked. A cardboard half box costing £3.20, (40pence more than my local chippy.), but if nice and plenty of them, I didnt mind. Got home to find there was literally about 6 decent size chips *4/5"), and the rest were scrappy small ends of the potato about an inch long, the decent size chips where nice. Maybe I got the last of a batch of chips, before they fried more, I dont know, However, I will never find out, as I will not be back.

We’ve not used Chantry Fish & Chips for years but when we saw it was under new management we had to try it! Husband & I both had the Chicken Fillet Burger Meal for a change. Asked if the chicken burger came with salad & was told yes. No! Just a bit of shredded lettuce! Husband had bbq sauce on his chicken, , I had chilli sauce. The amount of sauce drowned any taste of the chicken on both! I had to scrape the chilli sauce off mine! There was just so much of it & my mouth was on fire! I couldn’t finish it! Chips were ok. So I’m afraid we probably won’t return!

Just been to the chip shop. It’s so fresh and tastes amazing. Would definitely recommend. The prices are very reasonable and the customer service is perfect, very friendly and chatty

Best fish and chips in Ipswich! Been there recently. I ordered two large portion of cod with chips. The chips was very good, and cod was tasty, it was not oily, not dry either. I really enjoyed it. Portion was very generous, it was enough for us three of us. I took the curry sauce with it. Very good service over the counter. Will definitely recommend to others and will myself buy from there again.

Always cooked to high standards always cooked to order great friendly staff better than any other on chantry in my eyes

Great friendly staff! Unfortunately until they can cook chips this will probably be my last trip to them I have a simple expectation with chips that they don't total fall to pieces on the fork before they reach your mouth

Quick option for lunch accompanied by well cooked cod the chips were light and golden as was the batter. Would happily use again.

The food is always fresh, well cooked when I come here - especially the chips! The staff are friendly and welcoming.

Both had fish and chips,fish cooked to order loads of chips .serve hot and tasty, by far the best F an C shop on the estate. ..

Fish is always cooked to order so a short wait is required but the quality of the food more than makes up for it. I particularly recommend their haddock.

This friendly place serves really tasty food. Chips are not greasy and the fish is lovely. Closes a bit early, but it is well worth a visit if fish and chips is what you are after

Our regular 'chippy'! Fish and chips are cooked while you wait so they are always nice and hot. The batter is crispy without any hint of sogginess, the chips not over or under done and the portions are sufficient

Lucky to have this so close. Great food even better prices. Friendly staff. Always busy as u might expect. If you're this way then I'd definitely give it a try.

Yo no soy un cliente habitual, pero cuando compramos algunas patatas fritas en mi camino de vuelta a casa, pero no esperes que esperar 20 minutos para algunos chips donde cada regular llegando a comprar fichas con pescado, salchichas, hamburguesas o tartas, sirvieron antes de mí ... pagué. sólo quería patatas fritas. ¿Por qué tengo que esperar?

Habiendo sido local a Chantry durante muchos años, que a menudo entró en el Fish and chips" cuando no me gusta cocinar y siempre estaba encantado con el servicio, la comida y el precio. Por menos de 5 libras, puedo tener posiblemente las patatas más impresionantes que he probado en un fish and chips" y salchichas y hamburguesas o cualquier otra cosa que me gusta.

Yo probé suerte en este lugar en una reciente visita de Ipswich. Llegué a horas 20:50 sólo señalar que cerraba a las 21:00. Llegué y me preguntó qué tenía que dieron la izquierda, juzgar el tiempo. Se me informó de los dueños muy agradables, que "todo es fresco y lo que quiero? ". Opté por el bacalao y patatas fritas que duró aproximadamente 10 minutos para cocinar y cuesta menos de una fiver. Tengo que decir que la comida era absolutamente divino, una de las mejores y cenas con trocitos de pescado que he tenido en mucho tiempo.
