The fish and chips from Foxhall Chippy are the best. The chips are always a decent size....no crispy little bits of rubbish here....and the cod and haddock, which are fried to order, are always wonderful....big portions too. Highly recommended!

Brought 2 small battered sausages, 1 small chips and a can of drink, £6.90 gave the change to charity. Got home, missing a sausage. Sons crying, won't be coming back!

Disappointed with quantity of what was supposed to be Large portion of chips. When Paul was running this chip shop there was a generous amount, which now has been almost halved. The cod tasted fine but a steep price. Will not be going back anytime soon.

Excellent freshly cooked fish and chips

Possibly one of the best chips shops in the area. Over the last few years the new owners have taken control and delivery a friendly service, always cooking fresh food that they care about. We go there every week or so with the family and it’s constantly good.

Tonight I had one of the best pieces of cod in years. It was cooked to perfection. Absolutely lovely.

Thought I'd give this chippy a try. Cod was nice but chips were possibly the worst I've had. Maybe I just had a bad batch. Very dry, crispy around the edges and didnt really taste of anything.

Don't expect a salad when you order anything with salad here ........... In fact only expect a lettuce leaf and no apologies............ And to be charged an uncompetetive price ............ The choice is yours lol

First visit after disappointing meal at another chippy nearby. On this occasion I went for a standard steak and kidney pie and chips. Unbelievably good. Cannot fault at all. I am now a regular customer.

I have been using that fish and chip shop for 50 years and each time the ownership changed the quality always stayed high, one of the best fish and chip shops in Ipswich. Unfortunately ownership change again this year and its no longer the high quality it was and have stopped going. Give give it a chance and tried it 3 times after change of ownership, but poor quality fish compared to the last 50 years !

As a family with Coeliac disease we have really missed fish and chips so were keen to try Foxhall Chippy. We tried cod and sausage and chips and were really impressed with the quality, taste and large portions. Gluten free menu is available Tuesday evenings or on request with an hours notice any other day. Highly recommended.

Happen to stumble on this chippy after delivery of a vehicle and walking to railway station. Had to wait a little while, but my cod and chips were freshly cooked and tasted delicious so I have given 5 stars. Good value too!

Our go to chippy, the skate particularly is amazing, and you can't find it everywhere so we love to get it here. The staff are friendly and get the food done in a good amount of time.

Great chippy. The food is always prepared in front of you and the chips are never greesy which is a must! Definitely would recommend, portion sizes are also really generous!!

Love the food here. Eat it far to often. Great fish, burgers, kebabs and pies. Chips are always hot and the scraps are to die for. So happy its this close to home but its a bad thing too. 😜

Best chippy by far in Ipswich plus just down the road from me, great food and always busy but still serve quickly.

A nice chippy very friendly and polite staff very good food well worth a visit, very clean premises.

All you do is go in and get food so you don’t like sit down or anything. My Grandad often goes there and gets battered sausage for us on a Saturday for me it’s a long day of gymnastics lol and the battered sausage is good and the chips are nice and hot :) In fact me and my brother are having it tonight :)

Very interesting place will stay in the place was run by volunteers and it was very eco friendly the building was very interesting and the place was very comfortable to stay in.

This place is really good! The food is always freshly cooked as you order it as you come through the door, they even do a potato scallop... hadn't heard of those till I moved to Ipswich. Anyway... Great fish Great chips Go here...

I had some chips from this chippy a few weeks ago and they were pretty much the best fish and chip shop chips I had ever had. So after a day out I didn't feel like coming home to cook so I thought I'd try their fish and chips - I was really looking forward to it! And I was pleased to find that they only cook fish to order - sounds promising. Unfortunately I was disappointed. The chips were OK but nowhere near as good as the others I had tried. The fish (plaice) was OK, it was moist but the skin was a tad slimy. However I was most disappointed with the amount of uncooked batter remaining inside the outer shell of crisp batter. Sadly, will not be going back.

Food is always good at this chippy, freshly cooked fish to order. A wide range of other options including kebabs, hamburgers, etc. Staff that serve are always friendly and polite, overall very good outlet.

Never had cause for complaint and the banter and atmosphere while you wait it is always good . Does all sorts of other types of take away and we tried the Cheeseburger the other day which was very good . But it really is a traditional Fish and Chip shop which we consider to be the best - Even as good as the reknowned Aldeburgh Fish and Chips . We will continue to use and its not the nearest to us . Well done all involved .
