The best restaurants serving Seafood food in East of England

We have been frequenting here for approx 2 years until today! I would like to say we come here approx once/twice a monthly! Since the “makeover” it’s gone downhill drastically and we will not be returning. The last few times we have had to encourage salt/vinegar etc to our selections which is basically the same every time. On the last visit after requesting “putting” my own salt/vinegar as i like more than the average person, was nearly the last straw as he advised sit down and ill do it the lad with the mop-style hair cut didn’t bother as was to much hassle and when i asked did you do it sorta mumbled under his breath no i forgot so i pulled him up and he said your mashing up my paper. So todays visit in nutshell “repeatedly” due to last visit as in my opinion food is decent in local area “until” today asked by “mems” to dit down and he understood i wanted to do my own salt/vinegar asked sauces etc/salad. Order was 1x medium lamb donner, 1x chicken shish medium, 1x portion chips at least 4x times i advised i would salt/vingar to my taste, 2x garlic 2x chilli sauce, 2x cokes, 2x salads Got home and had 1x donner, 1x shish, 2x cokes, no sauce/no salad , phoned up and he spoke to “chef mop head” advised on next visit to say speak to “mems” for some advice. No let me ping you a little back as its right thing to do and will “mems” be there who ever he is. Advice is DONT use here down road by coop new kebab shop “saw bridge charcoal grill” Last visit today free advice get rid of chef with no hearing or understanding of customer service i.e mop head guessing family member or shop will diminish . The best freshly cooked fish and chips I have had for a very long time. Definitely worth a visit but be prepared to wait, it is so worth it though. Very well organised queuing system so you dont get missed. All the staff are really lovely and friendly, even “Little Miss Shouty” calling out the numbers. Please don’t change a thing, it’s just perfect for a traditional fish and chip supper. 10/10

Attended early evening. Wife and I both had large haddock and chips. Batter was light and crisp and everything perfectly cooked. Staff were lovely. Would definitely visit again

The fish was real fillets of haddock and cod with skin on, battered and cooked to perfection, too many yummy chips and two pickled onions! Shop looked shut but we wanted our first meal in England on the sea at Felixstowe and F&C! The only problem was the gullodauruses who demolished half of my wife’s haddock!

I purchased 1 x medium cod , 1 portion chicken nuggets and 1 x sausage in batter. Only 1 large chips to share and curry sauce and mushy peas . £29 later ….OMG what a rip off!!

Possibly the worst fish and chips ever. Fishcake was like breaded carpet underlay completely tasteless, chips cold and all tiny bits some burnt dark brown. Only decent thing was cod with light batter. But definitely won't go back.

Passing through the village we decided to drop in for a light bite and drink before continuing our journey. Was greeted by the pleasant landlady and took our food order. Sat by the wood log burner (nice) . The sandwiches when served were very tasty and well presented. If passing thru do pop in and give them your custom.

I looked this up as we approached the prom’. It looks like the beach / coffee shop and fish shop are now run by separate people. Fish and chips was quality, well prepared food. Tea prepared with a cheery Smile by young female staff - a credit to the area. We were looking for good Fish & Chips to sit and eat on the Prom’ and that’s what we got. Thank you.

Fairly certain this chip shop is permanently closed. DO NOT ORDER ONLINE!! The phone just rings as well.

Very disappointing. Have guests staying from Europe who were very excited to have fish and chips. What a let down, large chips small, regular kids portion. Anaemic chips and bitty. Quite frankly felt embarrassed. Large chips £4.20!! Same size as regular. Will avoid in future.

Fantastic good, chips are tasty and the perfect portion size. Chicken nuggets good quality too. Fast delivery and within the stated time scale. Food was hot on delivery, No items missing from the order - all items received. Very competitive pricing - look forward to returning here soon.

Although it's called the Golden Fish it serves Chinese Food. We were staying nearby in a Houseboat, we rang in our order and collected it 15 minuts later. The food was really good, plenty of meat in the mixed chop suey and mixed sweet and sour. Large portions too. A delicious meal.

Manor fish and chip shop food was awful. The large haddock (sold as cod) was smaller than a normal small fish portion and cost £8. The chips were the worst chips that I had ever had to throw away. Greasy, soggy, slimy and limp. Sat here feeling ripped off and hungry! Get your act together or sell up!

Visited yesterday with my husband and sat outside in the sun. We ordered padron peppers, crab orzo and truffle and Parmesan fries with a beer and a rock shandy. The food and drinks were lovely, the crab orzo was amazing and I will definitely be back to have the main size portion of this. The prices do seem slightly too high for the fries and the padron peppers considering how much you get, however we had a lovely time, enjoyed all of it and will be back. It would be good if other customers sitting outside paid attention to the no smoking sign however as it’s a small space and unpleasant.

Absolutely fantastic food hot and fresh loads of food for what u pay for staff so friendly and nice and clean heaps of chips and fish kebabs are massive fresh salad burgers and absolutely gorgeous . Well worth the money and time to go
