Seaways has to be the best fish and chip shop. The chips that they serve are amazing. The fish is always cooked to perfection. Friendly and lovely staff serving fresh well, cooked food.

Visited Seaways to buy some fish and chips. Used to buy from here but then moved on after they closed. Probably won’t visit again, staff absolutely miserable, busy packing advance orders. but no acknowledgment of customers in queue waiting to order, no eye contact or reassurance about being served. Pie was fine, chips very dry and lacked seasoning. Will eat elsewhere from now on.

Was visiting mum today and was thrilled to see Seaways was reopening today! Preordered our food (glad I did as super busy). Only waited few minutes, staff lovely and friendly. Food piping hot and absolutely delicious. Could not fault it. Thank you and welcome back!

Lovely fish and chips at a good price with friendly, efficient customer service. Their homemade Tartare sauce is a very nice addition.

Good food but overpriced & servers are rude told to get to the back of the queue when enquiring about my telephone order so I won’t be going back there again

Ignore the rubbish reviews , this chippy is the business. We had dinner for 7 and everyone was happy and full for 40 quid . Absolutely handsome dinner cooked to perfection. Staff so friendly too . Thank you seaways and a Merry Christmas .

Seaways read your last few reviews!! Honestly such a shame as used to be a wonderful local chippy but absolutely gone down the pan! Portions are atrocious! Large chips tonight was actually smaller than the medium just in a longer carton! Gave this place chance after chance but it off to fishy delishy from now on!

Worst chip shop in Hertfordshire Far too expensive quality is terrible you get more better than fish chips are soggy And then the cheeky assistant with no mask on ask me where my mask is the place is terrible go round the back it is dirty

Ordered a takeaway fish and chips, once I paid I had to wait for 1.5 hours to receive the order. If the wait was this long I would not have bothered. Once I received the food the fish was more batter than fish, my large portion of chips I ordered was not even a medium portion, plus the chips had dried up very disappointing and over £23 pounds for the privilege.

Always get my fish and chips from here. Absolutely amazing. The portions are huge and cooked to perfection. Tried many in the area but this place hands down beats them. Just beware on a Friday the queue does get very long. updated 8th July: first time i've had takeaway here since before lock down. knocked my review from 5 to 4 stars. The fish was amazing but the chips was awful, very big thick cut and not cooked properly, they was more like large jenga blocks, hard and dry inside. We ended up with 2 large portions of chips untouched, at £3.95 a portion i was very happy. Not sure if it was a 1 off, or the young guy i've never seen before who was cooking them.

Very very nice staff and smiley. Lovely service and a nice piece of fish in the cod and chips. Will definitely come here again and recommend this fish & chip shop to anyone.

Came here Friday evening and the queue was out the door! That’s where the problem is cause once you’ve ordered you can’t see what your served! Just had 2 cod and chips! Got home and portions not big! Yes I hadn’t ordered large but both fishes were practically flat with any fish in there! Hubby said most probably the worse we’d had from there and have been many many a tonne! Thinking we’ll stick to fishy delishy in future!

I come here quite often and we are always greeted nicely by the staff! I would have to call up about 10 minutes before I get the food to ask for a kids cod because they usually run out so quick excellent fish and chip shop keep up the good work!!

A few years back this Chippy was one of the best around, now it's mediocre at ultimate best. The staff are like waxworks and the owner acts like he just escaped from Parkhurst. Worst of are is the portions you receive, you couldn't feed a small child, very expensive for VERY little !

Absolutely horrible fish,ordered Haddock and chips,HADDOCK ( questionable) didn’t really taste of Haddock to me. Found the staff not too friendly. Very disappointing,will not be going back...

Fish and chicken was nice fresh chips .... the only problem was I walked in the 2 young ladies serving didn’t even acknowledge me till 5 mins later .... I just stood there till they asked me what I wanted.... it would of be nice if they had at least said hello but nothing ..... need work on customers service !!! Food was ok but not a lot of choice it looks like they are not busy and cook less.... other wise you have to wait 15 mins for it to cook...

Been to this shop a couple of times and they never seem to have much choice tried to get rock eel twice haven’t got it , if you want different fish apart from cod or haddock try elsewhere, staff not that friendly either, not what I expect from a shop that just recently had a makeover. 3/10

Never try to order fish late afternoon because You will get dry or rubbish left. 3 orders - 3 failures...

Cooked fresh, pleasant staff. Ideal chippie take-away with car parking outside. All typical food - chicken, sausages, fish, pies etc. Clean shop. Reasonable prices.

Quite a large menu to choose from although my personal favourite is the fish its amazing , lovely and thick white cod(etc) freshly cooked.I also tried the chicken shish which was delicious , perfectly spiced tender chicken chunks on a bed of salad with a Pitta bread. Would certainly recommend.

Should of learnt after the last bad lot of fish n chips, tried again last night never again total waste of money. Fat was old and everything tasted burnt from the fat and it was swimming in grease and fat, dont even start me on the chips.

This fish and chips shop has been here since the 70s or even 60s , it's the best fish and chips shop takeaway in the area , the food is always fresh , and the staff have always been excellent throughout the years , I been to the shop in July August 2017 !!! I'm looking forward to my next visit this September 2017 , the shop has a car park area and close to the shops !! It's the best fish and chip shop on the high street without going to the town centre !!! The shop is clean and they often refurbish when they update the shop, I'm pleased to give this shop 10/10 for food I bought

Cant say enough good things about this chip shop. Never once had a bad meal and their fish is the best Ive ever had. The queues on a Friday and Saturday night speak for themselves!! Keep up the good work

Fish is always fresh and tasty, service always with a smile and is always busy so just shows how good they must be. Have tried a fair few in the area and nothing compares. Would highly recommend.

Ordered fish, chips and a saveloy and really enjoyed it all. They were very generous with the chips which is always good. The fish was a little oily but that wasn't a problem as the skin was nice and crispy. I'd definitely visit again.

Después de haber estado en el comercio de pescado y patatas fritas durante muchos años, ya que vende ahora sólo compro mi pescado y patatas fritas desde aquí, siempre fresco y patatas fritas de la manera que como ellos.

Habiendo mudado recientemente a la zona, esta es la segunda vez que nos dieron el pescado y patatas fritas desde aquí. Las dos veces que vinieron sólo había un poco de pollo a la izquierda pero no vinimos por pollo, así que no te preocupes.

Aye here lots of times as live v local and can see Y it's won a award!! Never ever queued more than 10 minutes a but hay it's worth it!! Loved every time we've bought from here and just can't recommend enough!! We will be back

Best fish & Chips shop around for miles... I most definitely wouldn’t go elsewhere!Freshly produced products with a good menu variety of options to choose from and extremely great value for money.The staff are always welcoming and very friendly. Yes sometimes there is a queue especially of an evening but that just proves how good the food is, that people are happy to queue and wait for their food and that all is cooked fresh onsite.Shop looks great with the refurbishment can tell owners take pride in their shop! Even added a nice comfy sofa and TV so even if you do have to wait a few minutes for those tasty fish & chips the time soon flies byI know people who travel miles out of the way and past other fish & chip shops en-route just to get their food from here...Proves it truly is the Best Fish & Chip Shop in Hertfordshire.

Being partial to fish and chips, I have tried most of the other fish and chip shops in the area, but Seaways are always second to none. The fish is always freshly cooked, the chicken is delicious and the chips are cooked to perfection. Yes there are queues regularly on a Friday and Saturday but in my opinion, it's worth the wait. The staff are always friendly and the shop is immaculate. I say, if you're going elsewhere, you're missing out!

Generous portions and always freshly cooked fish, I wouldn't go to any other shop now. It's good value for money and I like that they do kids portions too.

As a resident in the local area we have used this fish and chip shop over the years. The free carpark has been recently extended and the shop has had a lick of paint. There is a loyal customer base and with this bizarre award winning claim, there has been an increase of new customers. Many of these new customers have been regulars at the Cheshunt Wash fish shop. They complained that the chips were too soggy and the cod covered in grease with no flavour, so they now come here. This chip shop cannot cope with the rise in customers queuing up outside. Short staffed, this busy chippy even ran out of chicken at 6.30pm, which demonstrates poor management and stock control. The chicken is either southern fried or roasted. These are cooked in advance then fried, with a disgusting flavour overall. Nothing is cooked fresh here and the taste reflects this. The chips are not good quality or value for money. The drinks on offer are limited with either coke or diet coke. There is no lilt or diet Pepsi. There is an overwhelming 'rabbit caught in the headlamps' approach to planning and delivering a truly award winning fish and chip service. This place falls flat on quality, quantity and range. The mushy peas are the cheapest quality and taste. I have eaten fantastic yum tasting fresh fish and chips in Cornwall and at the Rick Stein Restaurant. The product and service here does not match the expectation and appreciation of a good award winning chip shop, it is misleading and false. If you want frozen chips and frozen cod, stay at home and cook it for yourself. It will certainly taste exactly the same and be cheaper.
