Fishy Delishy Cheshunt in Broxbourne

Having been before booked for a family catch up for 7 of us and we were not disappointed- great food and super friendly service - recommended

We booked a meal for nine of us. First lot of four meals arrived, and then the other five arrived 22 minutes later. A total shambles, no apology, no nothing. Then when we paid they accused us of not paying the correct amount we owed. We went through the receipt with them, and it was clear we had paid the correct amount, again no apology. Would not recommend this plaice at all, it seems it has gone down hill from what it once was. If you want to visit a circus, then this plaice is ideal.

Absolutely Delicious Seabass at Fish Delishy! I had the seabass at Fish Delishy in Cheshunt, and it was incredible! Perfectly grilled, tender inside with a crispy skin—full of flavour and cooked to perfection. You can tell they use fresh, high-quality ingredients. The presentation was spot on, and the portion size was generous. Staff were friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommended if you’re a seafood lover or just fancy something healthy and tasty. I’ll definitely be back!

Used to be my favourite place for a fish stew takeaway. Last time i ordered last summer, great memories. Ordered just now and what a disappointment. The portion got smaller, starter sizer, 3 tiny pieces of fish, onion and celery, a few mussels and a prawn that was clearly frozen-unfrozen multiple times. The meat literally fell apart when i opened the shell. The truffle chips we ordered were literally the worst i’ve ever tasted. Cardboard most likely tastes better than them. And all of that for a small price of £38.58. Never ever again. I’m happy to pay the price for the size and quality, but i dont appreciate restaurants cutting corners so badly that it ruins our Saturday takeaway night.

Came in for a takeaway burger. Somehow, took ages to get it, like 30 minutes at least. Yet it was raw inside, and not all that hot. By the time I had walked two minutes to stop and eat, it was cold. Additionally, they charged a slightly different price to what was on the menu in store. Atmosphere was crap, staff just seemed standoffish. Overall, I wouldn't return.

The cod and chips were alright, but they were stingy with the chips. I would have expected to get more considering I paid £16.50 for it.

2024 back again after refurbishment. Scallops cooked well. Lovely fish (skate cod rock) and chips and 1 had a lovely salmon salad. Great service. Best fish restaurant by miles Chips to die for. Fish fresh and not overcooked. Sizzling prawn starter was incredible. Best fish and chips meal that I've had in ages. Great service. Me and my wife feel well fed and very happy.

This is our favourite local restaurant. We live nearby and it is our go to place whenever we're looking for a great meal. The service is exceptional, Leti and the team are always very friendly and attentive. The fish of the day, recommended by Leti, was absolutely delicious and fresh, and the presentation was top notch. My favourite though is the fish soup, it tastes amazing! Highly recommend this place for anyone in the area.

Great fish and chips plus more. Professional and friendly service too! Edit: dropped from 5 to 4 stars because they've become very expensive (£9.50 per glass of wine) and are adding a 10% service charge (when we were the only customers in the restaurant at the time anyway!).

Asked the restaurant not to shuck the oysters but they came shucked and oysters juice spilled everywhere.

We always come back to this place and it's amazing food. Never disappointed and always find kind and welcoming staff. We have been served by Leti and she was amazing like always. Many thanks and we look forward to return 😀

We came to Fishy Delishy expecting classic fish and chips, but we got the full seafood experience! Along with the perfectly crispy fish and chips, we ordered mussels, calamari rings, and prawns—all cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour. The portions were generous, and the service was friendly and efficient. A must-visit for seafood lovers!

Booked, booking was confirmed and when i arrived there shop was closed. Embarrassing. ( Was 26th of December but still was showing open and accepted our reservation).

My experience at this restaurant was amazing in every way. The food was delicious and of high quality, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Their fish was lovely can’t fault it ,but far too many chips and the chips were far too thick for my liking ,would like to have been able to order fish on its own could then have had one fish and another portion of fish and chips

Called in at 6pm on Sun 8th Dec 2024 Had haddock and chips with curry sauce, gherkins and a beer shandy. Food was brilliant, best haddock and chips ever.

Came quite far to check out this place. Honestly it was not bad. I went traditional Haddock and chips and it was nice enough. Chips were decent and liked the fact that they gave you tartar sauce complimentary. The menu does look like it has some really great dishes to explore though but they are a bit pricey. Service was excellent with attentive staff, atmosphere and decor was nice. If it wasn't so far for me I would definitely return to explore the menu some time but wouldn't make the drive out otherwise. Oh the dessert menu isn't great. I think I would probably go to the Ark for a more rounded experience.

Couple of takeaways have been poor. Cod not fresh, stunk the house out. Fish was flakey, even the cat refused it. Looks like they are cutting corners. No more chances given, won't be back.

Got some large and regular Rock fish and it was not fresh at all. It smells of ammonia-definitely rotten. Almost £30 down the bin Not going back there… it used to be good.

I visited last night with a friend for a long overdue catch-up with a friend. Parking is always difficult outside on the street but there are car parks very nearby so I parked in the Laura Trott Windmill lane car park, which was free after 6.30 pm. It was a Thursday night and on arrival at 6. 50, there was one other family eating. It was a pleasant restaurant and had undergone a small regurb since I last visited (at least the seating booths were slightly different). Staff were very friendly, asking if I had booked, but that really didn't matter as they didn't check and sign me as 'arrived' anyway. We chose our food and drinks, and I'm happy to say the cutlery, table, and glasses were spotlessly clean. The music was mixed and enjoyable, but a little loud for such a large empty venue if you were trying to chat across a table. The food arrived and looked nice. I ordered the cod and chips to see if it was as nice as the burger I had previously. Unfortunately, the 'cod' didn't taste or look like Cod. Perhaps Basa came to mind when I saw how flaky it was. I could barely get it on my fork. It was thin, too. I like the chunky flakes and subtle flavour of cod, this was not the same im afraid. The batter was not crispy, more like it had been reheated, but the fish was very hot. I just didn't enjoy the flavour and left half of it. I am not a fish expert by any means so this is not intended to upset the restaurant. But I do know what I like and the fish and I did not get on 😌 The chips were very nice and also super hot, and I liked how the Tartare sauce was served in a cute shell. It would have been nicer if it had a bit more consistency, though, although that may just be my personal preference. The prices were very good, it was under £14 for the main meal which is pretty good for restaurant dining. The service was truly good, with polite and friendly staff. Would I go back again? Yes, I would probably just avoid the 'cod'. Definitely give it a go!

I had takeaway. A large cod & chips x 2. The portions were generous, fish was not overly battered and it was a lovely, cheerful lady that served me.

We visited most recently on a Friday lunchtime. It's a lovely restaurant with a couple of outside tables. We sat inside and chose from a brand new menu. We were spoiled for choice but decided on seafood linguine, which was absolutely delicious. Service was impeccable, food delicious. What more could we want?

Haddock fresh and cooked perfectly in excellent batter. Chips light gold, crisp and fluffy. Mushy peas good. Ordered a quick ad hoc meal and enjoyed a feast.

What’s going on with this former 5⭐️ gem? I grabbed some chips today, and they were not just stale but clearly reheated (and we all know that’s a recipe for disaster). They were definitely not up to the Fishy Dishy standard. Has there been a management change, shake-up or have they dismissed the chef?

Honestly terrible take-away experience. I live a 5 minute drive away and the food was barely hot. On top of that the batter was underdone and still raw on the inside of both fish. I also asked for one skinless, not listened to. Chips underdone and a few still raw inside. Awful experience having not ordered here in a while and won’t do so again.

The service in the restaurant was excellent as well as the atmosphere of this place, everything like the decorations, the music and the paintings etc. were amazing. Fairly decent food and good service at a reasonable price. It was a nice midweek family meal out so relatively quiet. The front bifolds were open, but as we were a row of tables away, this was ok, otherwise the meal might have been disturbed by people walking past. The service was polite and prompt and the food was satisfying and tasty, but not exceptional. It worked out around £45 per head and we only had soft drinks

Recently visited Fishy Delishy for a family meal. I was greeted and seated by Dice who provided exceptional service throughout the duration we were at the restaurant. There were no kids meals menu’s available when we arrived so Dice got them printed out so the kids could have a menu each to read but also so they could colour them in! Food was presented well and tasted great. For sure we will be back!!!!

I ordered haddock with chips. I always order this whichever fish restaurant I am in. I haven’t eaten here before. It was the very best I have had!

My family and I were very satisfied with our dinner at Fishy Delishy during our stay at Cheshunt. We dined on a Sunday evening and there was no delay in finding a table. There was a plethora of drinks to choose from and the staff gave us plenty of time to choose from the menu. For starters we ordered the Mezze (small size). It was a delicious plate of humous, olives, cheese, and bread. The small size we ordered was perfect for the three of us with room for the mains. For the main course, two of us ordered fish (one cod and one haddock) and chips with baked beans and mushy peas. Both dishes were very authentic and the tartar sauce was served in a sea shell which suited the atmosphere very well. We also ordered the Salmon Fillet Teriyaki. This was another great dish that was presented very well. We complemented this dish with a side order of chips. To finish, we ordered a Baklava dessert with ice cream. We are a family of pistachio lovers and we enjoyed this dessert a lot. Ice cream is surprisingly nice with Baklava. I would recommend Fishy Delishy to anyone in Cheshunt looking for an authentic fish and chips restaurant with a touch of style in the presentation.

This has been one of our go to restaurants for a few years. However, since the revamp, the prices have gone up massively (I know prices have increased everywhere), the wine list has changed and there is not one wine on there that I like. I asked for a small cod - apparently didn't have any, so I had to pay for a larger one. Had it without chips - they tried to charge me for them. The waiting staff are lovely but this isn't the restaurant we used to enjoy. Won't be going back.

Delivery. Shocking food & when I called to complain I got verbal abuse from the ‘head chef’ I order on a regular basis for many many years so I’m aware what comes in an order, in my Sizzling Tiger Prawns where I received only 3 instead of 5. My prawn cocktail turned up with 3 prawns on an avocado. That’s it! I’ve ordered numerous times & never recorded this. For £40. I spoke to the chef who was very condescending & rude to me on the phone.no apology, just disrespectful & rude to me. Absolutely not acceptable

Had 2 beef and onion pies and chips to take away .After waiting 15mins for the meals to be prepared we were very disappointed to find that both pies were stone cold although the chips were hot . Would not recommend this place.

I think this might be the best fish and chip shop in Cheshunt. I tried their fish and chips last week The fish is clearly fresh and not sat in a freezer for weeks. The batter is light and not greasy. I shall come back.

Stumbled across this local restaurant by chance after a Sunday walk in the Lea Valley and was very pleasantly impressed. It’s a smart place but very friendly for children with a kids menu and colouring sheets. My kids and hubby were very happy with the fish and chips but the highlight was my fisherman’s stew - a bowl of seafood in a herby tomato sauce. The service was really great - attentive but relaxed
