These chips were £4! What an outrage!

I visited last night with a friend for a long overdue catch-up with a friend. Parking is always difficult outside on the street but there are car parks very nearby so I parked in the Laura Trott Windmill lane car park, which was free after 6.30 pm. It was a Thursday night and on arrival at 6. 50, there was one other family eating. It was a pleasant restaurant and had undergone a small regurb since I last visited (at least the seating booths were slightly different). Staff were very friendly, asking if I had booked, but that really didn't matter as they didn't check and sign me as 'arrived' anyway. We chose our food and drinks, and I'm happy to say the cutlery, table, and glasses were spotlessly clean. The music was mixed and enjoyable, but a little loud for such a large empty venue if you were trying to chat across a table. The food arrived and looked nice. I ordered the cod and chips to see if it was as nice as the burger I had previously. Unfortunately, the 'cod' didn't taste or look like Cod. Perhaps Basa came to mind when I saw how flaky it was. I could barely get it on my fork. It was thin, too. I like the chunky flakes and subtle flavour of cod, this was not the same im afraid. The batter was not crispy, more like it had been reheated, but the fish was very hot. I just didn't enjoy the flavour and left half of it. I am not a fish expert by any means so this is not intended to upset the restaurant. But I do know what I like and the fish and I did not get on 😌 The chips were very nice and also super hot, and I liked how the Tartare sauce was served in a cute shell. It would have been nicer if it had a bit more consistency, though, although that may just be my personal preference. The prices were very good, it was under £14 for the main meal which is pretty good for restaurant dining. The service was truly good, with polite and friendly staff. Would I go back again? Yes, I would probably just avoid the 'cod'. Definitely give it a go!

I had takeaway. A large cod & chips x 2. The portions were generous, fish was not overly battered and it was a lovely, cheerful lady that served me.

We visited most recently on a Friday lunchtime. It's a lovely restaurant with a couple of outside tables. We sat inside and chose from a brand new menu. We were spoiled for choice but decided on seafood linguine, which was absolutely delicious. Service was impeccable, food delicious. What more could we want?

Great haddock and chips. Lovely ambiance at this restaurant, with great staff. Though fresh squid instead of the pre-frozen in breadcrumb would be welcome. Even for a couple of quid more

Haddock fresh and cooked perfectly in excellent batter. Chips light gold, crisp and fluffy. Mushy peas good. Ordered a quick ad hoc meal and enjoyed a feast.

What’s going on with this former 5⭐️ gem? I grabbed some chips today, and they were not just stale but clearly reheated (and we all know that’s a recipe for disaster). They were definitely not up to the Fishy Dishy standard. Has there been a management change, shake-up or have they dismissed the chef?

Highly recommend, great restaurant with amazing staff. Ordered fish and chips with homemade tartar sauce and I certainly wasn't disappointed. Hands down it has to be the best cod ive tasted!

Honestly terrible take-away experience. I live a 5 minute drive away and the food was barely hot. On top of that the batter was underdone and still raw on the inside of both fish. I also asked for one skinless, not listened to. Chips underdone and a few still raw inside. Awful experience having not ordered here in a while and won’t do so again.

Did not turn up despite clear instructions how to get into the block - please re deliver immediately!!! Really poor service

The service in the restaurant was excellent as well as the atmosphere of this place, everything like the decorations, the music and the paintings etc. were amazing. The food was full and tasty and it was a good value for the amount of food that there was. The whole restaurant is very clean and hygienic. We would like to thank Fishy Delishy for everything.

Fairly decent food and good service at a reasonable price. It was a nice midweek family meal out so relatively quiet. The front bifolds were open, but as we were a row of tables away, this was ok, otherwise the meal might have been disturbed by people walking past. The service was polite and prompt and the food was satisfying and tasty, but not exceptional. It worked out around £45 per head and we only had soft drinks

Recently visited Fishy Delishy for a family meal. I was greeted and seated by Dice who provided exceptional service throughout the duration we were at the restaurant. There were no kids meals menu’s available when we arrived so Dice got them printed out so the kids could have a menu each to read but also so they could colour them in! Food was presented well and tasted great. For sure we will be back!!!!

I ordered haddock with chips. I always order this whichever fish restaurant I am in. I haven’t eaten here before. It was the very best I have had!

Chips uncooked soggy and very bitty sausage in batter supposed to be disgusting sausage and the batter dodent stick yo the sausage never use again

My family and I were very satisfied with our dinner at Fishy Delishy during our stay at Cheshunt. We dined on a Sunday evening and there was no delay in finding a table. There was a plethora of drinks to choose from and the staff gave us plenty of time to choose from the menu. For starters we ordered the Mezze (small size). It was a delicious plate of humous, olives, cheese, and bread. The small size we ordered was perfect for the three of us with room for the mains. For the main course, two of us ordered fish (one cod and one haddock) and chips with baked beans and mushy peas. Both dishes were very authentic and the tartar sauce was served in a sea shell which suited the atmosphere very well. We also ordered the Salmon Fillet Teriyaki. This was another great dish that was presented very well. We complemented this dish with a side order of chips. To finish, we ordered a Baklava dessert with ice cream. We are a family of pistachio lovers and we enjoyed this dessert a lot. Ice cream is surprisingly nice with Baklava. I would recommend Fishy Delishy to anyone in Cheshunt looking for an authentic fish and chips restaurant with a touch of style in the presentation.

This has been one of our go to restaurants for a few years. However, since the revamp, the prices have gone up massively (I know prices have increased everywhere), the wine list has changed and there is not one wine on there that I like. I asked for a small cod - apparently didn't have any, so I had to pay for a larger one. Had it without chips - they tried to charge me for them. The waiting staff are lovely but this isn't the restaurant we used to enjoy. Won't be going back.

Delivery. Shocking food & when I called to complain I got verbal abuse from the ‘head chef’ I order on a regular basis for many many years so I’m aware what comes in an order, in my Sizzling Tiger Prawns where I received only 3 instead of 5. My prawn cocktail turned up with 3 prawns on an avocado. That’s it! I’ve ordered numerous times & never recorded this. For £40. I spoke to the chef who was very condescending & rude to me on the phone.no apology, just disrespectful & rude to me. Absolutely not acceptable

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The cocktails were absolutely delicious, The food was very nice. The staffs were incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel comfortable, overall, i will recommend you to try this restaurant.

2024 back again after refurbishment. Scallops cooked well. Lovely fish (skate cod rock) and chips and 1 had a lovely salmon salad. Great service. Best fish restaurant by miles Chips to die for. Had 2 beef and onion pies and chips to take away .After waiting 15mins for the meals to be prepared we were very disappointed to find that both pies were stone cold although the chips were hot . Would not recommend this place.

Went for lunch service today, we got the salmon Fillet and a seafood tagliatelle and wow! the portion sizes were big and filling and the seafood was so fresh and full of flavour. The servers were friendly and polite. We will definitely be back

The takeaway section is always good quality fish and chips, clean bright shop and very helpful and friendly staff always come here

I think this might be the best fish and chip shop in Cheshunt. I tried their fish and chips last week The fish is clearly fresh and not sat in a freezer for weeks. The batter is light and not greasy. I shall come back.

Stumbled across this local restaurant by chance after a Sunday walk in the Lea Valley and was very pleasantly impressed. It’s a smart place but very friendly for children with a kids menu and colouring sheets. My kids and hubby were very happy with the fish and chips but the highlight was my fisherman’s stew - a bowl of seafood in a herby tomato sauce. The service was really great - attentive but relaxed

Me and my wife had a great meal here today and Waleed gave us a great service 👍👍👍👍👍. We will be definitely be going again.

As a sea food lover I've been to so many seafood places but I have never tasted swordfish as good as this restaurant does I'm really impressed I was just passing cheshunt and I'm so glad I have chosen fishy delishy everything was spot on drinks were 👌 deffo bringing my seafood folks here

Food was good but they tried to palm me off with a crummy dried plain sausage that must have been in the display for a while, but as they were cooking me a cod I asked for a fresh sausage as I know the kid would have turned their nose up at that sausage.

The portion of chips could be better, their chips taste good though, no complaints.

We order regularly and love this chip shop. Olives were meant to come with bread but didn’t so this was disappointing, although was refunded for this by just eat.

Ordered chicken kebab rice salad and pitta. Arrived with no rice, half a pitta which the chicken had been put on top off, nice and soggy ! Salad was too close to chicken and all the meat juices. No chilly sauce either ! Disappointing, used to be better quality and kebab used to be sectioned into parts in containers.

The fish is over cooked and just batter the last time I went I couldn’t even finish eating it because it was just over cooked batter again very little fish won’t ever be going back it’s a shame because it was a good place to eat.

What a little gem this is. A taste of London in Cheshunt. It's very difficult to find any fish restaurant outside of London but it's even harder to find a great one, but look no further. You may think this is just a fish and chip shop but if you like fish and seafood I can't recommend this place enough. The restaurant next door to the takeaway is extremely inviting as you walk in. It's tastefully decorated and has plenty of space but it's the menu and food quality that really sets this place apart. They have a very wide selection of fresh fish as well as meat options for any non fish lovers and of course a full fish and chip shop menu too. All fish on the chip shop menu can be battered or grilled but their star of the show is the fish platter which just about has a bit of everything. It really is a spectacle and makes a great centrepiece for a special occasion. The staff are super friendly and helpful and there's parking either in front or in a car park at the back. If you want gluten free fish and chips, they also offer this on a Thursday. Don't miss out on this wonderful restaurant, it really is something

Can’t rate my food as I didn’t receive it, the driver delivered someone else’s order and now I have to wait for a refund and all I had for dinner was 3 boxes of chips. Won’t use Just Eat again

Ordered chips today from the takeaway place, but they were so hard they tasted like cardboard. When they’re fresh they’re amazing. Please can you stop serving stale batches that taste like cardboard! We’re not stupid and notice when they’ve been left out all night

This is the fourth time I have ordered fish and chips from the takeaway section and the forth time the fish has been absolutely qwful.I kept trying because it was a lovely chippy when it first opened but lately the battery is rock hard and the fish is small and flaky with barely any substance. Alot of it was inedible and felt like I had to leave this review after keep hoping it would improve back to how it was,unfortunately it hasn't and I won't be buying fish from here again,a total waste of money.

When the food arrived, I noticed it was the wrong order immediately. I really dislike chicken and mushroom pie. I ordered steak and kidney pie and then I placed a complaint and you have made a refund. Then we started to eat, and realised it was all stone cold. Normally it’s a great service. This time it was dismal. I am so disappointed we were both so hungry. My mother is 84 I am very dissatisfied. It’s not often that I see her so it was a treat for us

The best fish and chips I've had in a long time

I've been twice now, just too make sure the first wasn't a fluke. My god this establishment is 💯👊🏾! Not only was the food amazing, the wine selection & even deserts are top notch. I've been looking for somewhere to fully relax and enjoy myself and by dining here I've found it! The service was truly incredible and the Owner made me feel comfortable and welcome. I'd advise anyone who's pescatarian to definitely visit this restaurant as it truly hit the mark in all spaces. Truly delicious 😋. I'll be visiting again, and again and again.
