I came to Hoddesdon with my dad & decided to have lunch while here. We saw the lunch offer and decided to try. The lunch offer had a big selection of meats, fish & vegetarian. The food was quick & tasty. The staff are very attentive & helpful. The restaurant is clean & modern. I will happily be coming back.

£5.50 for smallest portion of chips in a box that’s soggy, I paid nearly £40 for lamb shish and chips. Worst lamb shish ever had and chip where beyond bad. Disgraceful

We stopped in for an impromptu bite to eat at lunch time and had such a great time. The staff were welcoming, super friendly and accommodating. We went for the set menu two course lunch offer which was amazing value for money at just £13.90 each. Food was excellent and plentiful. Our waiter - Umit was superb and really spoilt the kids. I really don’t have anything to fault about it. We will definitely be heading back in the coming weeks.

We visited Hayta one miserable Thursday evening in May. We have never been and only had an hour to spare thankfully the place was buzzing and the service was excellent. We ordered drinks, halloumi salad and kleftiko and both dishes were great. We were also given a little bread starter with chilli and garlic dips. The atmosphere is great and the restaurant is really well kept. highly recommended. We will be back!

Been here 3 times now, food is amazing. The service is typically really good, the last time I went I brought my partner who's always been funny about European restaurants but loved this one, but we had amazing service from all servers that time. There was one time when I went with my best friend and we had a waitress who has curly hair who never smiled and came off really rude and stand-offish 🙃so that's why I marked service 4/5 but everyone else is really lovely and professional. I recommend the sea bass, salmon, and the cheesy pastries.

I've been to several Turkish restaurants but this one is the 🔝!!! In first place is the food (the octopus and lamb cooked to perfection are of a high standard); the welcome and hospitality (professional and warm) complete the magnificent and exclusive experience!!! Nikolas (the manager) is a perfect host! Absolutely Recommended!

This hasn’t gone down hill, it’s fell off a cliff…. Food not up to the usual standard for the second time in a row. Kleftiko had no flavour and no vegetables, mash like old school dinner mash and missing a rice. When I phoned to ask if they could do anything they said no they were too busy! Where has the Hayta gone that we all know and loved??

Hayta Restaurant in Hoddesdon is the perfect place to celebrate special occasions with your loved ones. My family and I recently visited the restaurant to surprise my mom on her birthday, and it was an unforgettable experience. The food was incredibly delicious, satisfying the taste buds of everyone in our family. The staff at Hayta Restaurant were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel like VIP guests. It was truly a memorable celebration, thanks to the wonderful food and the warm hospitality.

Our waitress ‘’Rosie ‘’ was incredibly kind and helpful, providing top-notch service throughout the meal. When we couldn't decide on a dessert at table 32, she patiently assisted us until we found the perfect option. To top it off, at the end of our meal, she kindly asked if we were satisfied with our experience and encouraged us to leave a review, which we are more than happy to do. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience characterized by delicious food and outstanding service.

Awful. Wish I would have listened to other bad reviews but thought I’d give it a chance - apparently changed ownership heard it was good under old management. Got there 5 mins early and guy at the door said are you late before he even checked our name on computer - not a good way to be , led us to a corner seat First 2 drinks come out one was wrong Ordered prawn starter £12 for 4 prawns, which were okay at best Then the main which was nothing like the online menu suggested, tried to send it back but said they can’t do anything since it changed yesterday and was no longer the same meal Paper straw broke in the cup so had to get a few new ones Then sat round for ages after finishing the meal while waiting for some staff to pass to ask for the bill Went to the Turkish 2 mins walk down the road to finish the night with some more cocktails Removed service charge shame I couldn’t remove the whole bill would of rather KFC

If I could give six stars I would. Took the family for a Mothers day meal and it was absolutely fantastic. I'm a very fussy customer and I take my hat off to ALL the staff(including Steve the voice). I highly recommend this restaurant.

I thought I would let people know my last experience with this restaurant . As a loyal customer myself and my family my daughter took me for lunch there as we do sometimes, only to find it had new owners. I was horrified that there wasn't much food on our plates at all. Our starts were barely anything and the main was a tiny bit of tail end salmon with the skin and practically no vegetables or mash potato. There were a few bits of pitta bread but they did not replenish as the previous owners and other restaurants . Asked for a jug of water and were given a glass of water. Then when the bill arrived they slapped service charges on top . we had no idea . The owner thought what he served us was great as he kept on about the lousy piece of salmon and my daughter got 3 little pieces of chicken kebab. We were appalled and that is why we won't be going there for lunch for Mothers Day. This was my experience don't know if others have had the same. Will be going elsewhere . Not usual service received in the past with the previous owners

Have always liked this place and the decor and staff have been excellent. Maybe since it has changed management, the food quality has slipped a little. Every time I'd been previously there was something very special about at least one part of the meal either the quality of the meat or, most often, the seasoning was exceptionally executed. The very recent visit didn't leave me enthusing about any particular part of the meal. Don't get me wrong, it was good. Great service and an exciting and clean venue. But it's just slipped a little in term of the taste. And it matters. Hayta has never been a cheap option. But when the food was so good, you don't mind paying a premium for a premium experience. This time some of the meat was, in places, a little lacking in quality and the attention to details we expected on the taste was just a little missing. Previous visits had me enthusing over how the shredded vegetables tasted on the Shish dish! They were so well seasoned. So the game needs upping back to where it was. It takes a fine touch to get this right in the kitchen. I hope that they can manage it.

Walked in and seated very quickly at the very rear of restaurant a table for 4 Given the lunch time menu which is a starter and mains £12.90 Great selection of both drinks and food orders placed quickly Starters were very nice along with the warm Turkish bread which we love Then mains arrived 1x lamb ribs full of flavour and juicy beautifully cooked 2x grilled salmon large sized again beautifully cooked 1x chicken shish. Meat cubes very tender cooked just right The whole experience was really relaxing and enjoyable we highly recommend the lunch time meal we went on a Monday it was not busy we were well served by the staff who are very friendly and management were around to chat too as well It’s the little things that count I had ribs so messy hands the warm water and lemon nice touch to wash my hands in been in other Turkish restaurant and this has not been provided We will be back

Having been let down by another restaurant we went here. They were very busy but laid up a table in the bar area which was fine for us as the restaurant was very noisy. Service was very slow but we eventually got drinks and appetisers. After a long wait we had our order taken and the starters came reasonably soon after. We then waited 2 hours for our main courses which arrived shortly before 11.00pm by which time most of us had lost our appetite. One couple enjoyed their food, the other two couples found it mediocre at best. We expressed our disappointment to the manager and asked for the bill which we negotiated 2 bottles of wine to be taken off. To our horror they had added 12.5% service charge. Needless to say we did not pay this and will not be back!

This restaurant was a whole vibe; stunning decor, professional and attentive staff who were friendly and catered for us like we were royalty! Nico was a fabulous host and made my friend's birthday extra special with a cake and a song! The food was absolutely delicious; authentic, mouth-watering flavours using top-quality products... My list of compliments for this establishment is endless! I was so impressed and will very much be a regular customer here. I highly recommend Hayta for celebrating any occasion that you want to make into an incredible and highly memorable time out!

We have been to the restaurant before with family who have travelled from Suffolk and Cornwall and enjoyed the food and were looking forward to meeting up again for lunch. I booked the restaurant and asked to be seated around the round table so that it was easy for us to talk with each other but was told that the round table would only take six people and our party was seven. We turned up on time and we were placed on a long table, but looking around we could see the round table was laid for seven people, I raised this with the staff and was told that they thought the long table would be better for us. It was agreed we could move, we were then given the main menu. I asked for the lunch time menu (which is what we were after) I was told it was unavailable due to the time of the year but others in the restaurant were ordering from it. We chose our food which when served was minus one of the dinners who was brought his order nearly ten minutes later. The quality of the food was good and we all enjoyed our meals and deserts although the waiter did get them wrong because he seemed to think he could remember all the desert orders and drinks without recording them. When the bill was asked for we were surprised that they had put on a service charge of twelve and half percent, I like to decide how much to tip based on the service. In all we had a mediocre experience and felt that as we were an older group they had decided that we could be relied upon to pay more and knew that once there we would be unlikely to leave and find somewhere else. Food good, service passable restaurant very noisy.

I booked a table for 9 for a birthday lunch. After checking previously we were told there was no set lunch menu available. Two of us had salmon with mash and very overcooked vegetables. Two had veg moussaka, that they mainly left as it was not good. Haytas need to up their game. The restaurant has the looks but no substance! You’ll get much better food at Sparks at the end of the high street. Won’t be back.

Nice place for food and entertainment

We booked a last minute table for the Christmas dinner and we had the Christmas special menu. The food was great and so was the service. A very nice lady from the staff also offered to hold my baby for a few minutes so I could eat (that was very thoughtful and kind 🤍) and the chef made some tomato pastas for my toddler that were not in the menu. Thank you, you made us feel welcomed!

Went to Hayta for Christmas day. The food was delicious! Only problem was although I wanted to eat every delicious mouthful, they were very generous with their portions and offered doggy bags. They couldn't do enough for everyone and the place, service and atmosphere was amazing!

Great meal, food was fantastic. The Lamb was cooked to perfection. They had a singer on which was entertaining and the staff were sublime.

My in laws are visiting us from Germany, we all love Turkish cuisine and I’ve seen Hayata on my Instagram often so I thought we’d go here as it looks lovely and I wanted somewhere nice to treat my family. We called and were told they’re extremely busy but they’d make space for us, we were 5 min away so went anyway, we got there and there were 2 tables (not exactly busy) once our food arrived one of the orders was wrong, they did change it but you could see they were not happy about it, even though the waiter got it wrong as I repeated it to him twice. Halfway through my meal I lift a piece of chicken only to find a small black hair underneath in the yogurt. I tried to get someone’s attention but no one came over, the waiters were either on their phones or chatting together. I gave up and just ate some bread. We ordered extra sides which they forgot. At the end the manager came and asked if he can have the table cleared I mentioned the hair in my food, he said are you sure it’s not a women’s hair, I said no (implying it’s mine) I said it’s a short black hair like from a beard, as I said that we looked into the kitchen and all staff had beards and no hair nets at all so that explains the hair. He said if you’d of told me sooner I could have fixed it; I said it doesn’t matter now it’s done. He offered me a complimentary coffee, I ordered a cappuccino which arrived half in the cup half in the saucer and was more milk than coffee. We waited ages to ask for the bill, in the end my husband had to go find someone to ask for it. They didn’t even consider removing my dish from the bill, and had the cheek to add a nice amount for service charge. The restaurant it’s self looks lovely but that’s as far as it goes. The food was not terrible but certainly didn’t meet my expectations especially considering how many Turkish restaurants are around. The price is a little too high for the quality of food and the service really is very poor! Safe to say I won’t be returning, it’s just a shame I brought family here as I feel let down and embarrassed. Can get much better quality food and service in other local restaurants.

Large, lively Turkish restaurant. Atmosphere was good when we visited early on a Saturday evening. Service was friendly and professional. Large menu choice. Lamb shish was tasty. Wine was good. We asked for a child's serving of spaghetti bolognaise for our little guest, said they couldn't do that, even though we offered to pay full price for a child's serving, they wouldn't do that so ended up with some wasted food.

First time dining experience at this beautiful restaurant with its extensive menu, efficient & friendly staff. Wonderful meal, & all 4 of us were very impressed! Will be back of course, this is a great venue, immerse yourself in the lavish surroundings, we certainly did!

Food very good but staff are rude and judgemental - my daughter was told “we didn’t offer you more drinks or dessert as we didn’t think you could afford it” she’s a veterinary nurse and certainly wouldn’t eat anywhere that she couldn’t afford - oh and don’t offer a free meal as you’ll probably only spit in it - very disappointing

We all had very good food with very good service and al staff were very attentive. My daughter was a bit late as she had an appointment elsewhere but we all ended up having our main meal together. Atmosphere although lunch time was very good and very comfortable. As another person had said, just one thing, 12.5% service charge was a bit steep! We are going back over Christmas and I will leave a decent Tip. We had just arrived back from a holiday abroad and paid 7% service charges at the most. Having said that we did have a lovely afternoon so thank you 🙏

Had high hopes after being recommended to come here . While generally the food was decent the burger was mediocre and the lamb ribs were bit too tough . The rest of the dishes were very good and cold mezzo starters and calimari very good . Would’ve given 4 star however found the service poor just not attentive and friendly enough . Whilst this could’ve been a one off with the service and overall the atmosphere and restaurant design is very nice I left with no real compulsion to rush back .

Just one little thing, there was only 3 of us for lunch, and we had a twelve and half percent Service Charge added to the bill. It amounted to another meal. I would not normally give that amount as a tip. It was not busy in there, and I am sure if they let people Tip what they want, more people would go in. I would think twice about going in for lunch again.

Attended with a friend for the first time for dinner. Starter -falafel, mains- lamb in a tomato sauce and chicken in a cream sauce. The lamb was good, the chicken was just ok, needed more seasoning for me. We thought there was going to be a live singer there but there was none. We asked the waiter who said they did usually have entertainment Friday and Saturday nights but for some reason there had be none recently. Main issue for me was the almost £9 service charge added to our bill! Ended up paying £80 for 4 soft drinks, a starter, 2 mains and a side! The second round of drinks we had to chase as we'd been waiting a while. The waitress said the bar was busy. Overall the food was ok and the staff were polite, but £8.90 service charge that wasn't optional I can't agree with and so wouldn't return here.

We ordered food from here for lunch and all the salad was off. The cucumbers were mouldy and slimy and smelt so bad. The chicken and rice was nice and tasted/looked good but the salad situation really put us off as it clearly was very old.
