Loved the ribs and brisket, watch out for the buffalo hot wings!🥵 Only thing that let it down was the pornstar martini that came out of a carton.

Not the same anymore which is a real shame. Nice friendly staff still but inflated prices with heavily reduced portions. Chef was eating while prepping food which wasnt great to see. £4.50 for 4 small onion rings...£9.50 for 6 chicken wing drums (3 full wings) used to get a proper portion here. £9.50 for childrens nuggets and chips, again very small even for a childrens portion. Still a nice atmosphere but unfortunately wont be coming back.

I was craving a burger and the Smokeshed did not disappoint, I had to have a bite of the girlfriends hotdog when that came out and it was one of the best I've had. Will definitely be returning to go through the menu of meats, wings and ribs.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was so fun and the music was amazing. The staff were also very welcoming and polite and the food was really amazing especially for the price. Would definitely recommend coming here.

Last minute booking and staff accommodated us, as a Greek man who enjoys BBQs i must say this was on point ! I gave 4 stars 🌟 for atmosphere BUT this was due to the front door opening up and freezing the front half of the restaurant, other than that, I will 100% revisit. Well done all at smokeshed, keep it up !

My boyfriend and I came here for the wing Wednesday offer. The full rack of ribs were incredibly burnt and dry there was no actual meat, this was not worth £20, perhaps £1 at most. My glass of water had some black bits floating in it. When I asked to change to the non bar stools, new customers came in and sat on the chairs we requested whilst our waitress asked her manager. She never came back to accommodate our seating preferences as the bar stools were very uncomfortable. On a positive note, the chicken wings were ok though.

Food was fantastic as always, order was ready for collection when I arrived. Great service.

We really enjoyed it and came after a recommendation from a family member. We waited a while for food but it didn't bother us. Staff were friendly, cocktails and drinks were lovely, our food was delicious and a lovely experience for us and our 12 year old, meat mad son. It has a lovely atmosphere and something different to us to try. Thank you all

Unusual but lovely flavours of the cooked tender meats, if this is how the southern USA eats, then they are privileged, service was attentive, quantities were good, the 7 of us had a great time, recommended eating

Had to drive round the block a couple of times before luckily finding parking in the high street, no idea what youre supposed to do if eating somewhere before 6.30pm as everywhere seems 1 hour permits, disabled or loading bays. Restaurant felt warm and inviting, about 80% capacity on a Sat night but couldn't see any food yet. 🚩 4 of us had the higher seating booked which could have comfortably fit another 2 more so we had enough elbow room. Cocktails from the swanky looking bar were  on point, drank those Dark Smokey's all night. 🥃 Ordered the £65 platter to share with a mate and requested brisket slices from the point (the fatty part) as sometimes slices from the flat part in BBQ places can be a bit dry. The owners daughter came up and advised that part is used for burnt ends (which are also part of the platter) and asked if I wanted more of those, but assured me that the brisket slices are juicy enough so convinced me to order as-is. And she wasn't wrong, food took about 45mins but well worth the wait. To my surprise we got a couple thick slices from the point anyway. Had a nice smoke ring and they were tender, juicy, just about held together on a fork and melted in your mouth! Right up there between Franklins and Terry Black's! IYKYK. The Burnt ends were ridiculous, tacky BBQ glossy, glazed, mahogany exterior that you could crush with your tongue against the roof of you mouth. The sausage was delicious too and had a nice snap to the bite, although following the previous 2 meats, needed to dunk in 1 of the 3 sauces provided for an extra flavour kick. Would have been nice to see a jalapeno cheddar option like they have all over Texas but I'm splitting hairs here. Pulled pork was as you'd expect, a little over shredded if I really had to pick holes in it but nicely presented in its own cast iron skillet with that BBQ sauce drizzled on top. Pickles and red cabbage cut through the richness and even the veggies cooked on the coals were bang on. St Louis Ribs had a great depth of flavour, clean bite off the bone and a moreish smokey aftertaste. Seasoned Fries perfectly crispy and overall a great experience. Best BBQ in Hertfordshire so far.

This is an overall review over several visits. Where we have sampled almost the while (meat) menu...and a few sides. Generally awesome...the brisket..oh my god if only i could get mine to be that way on my Pro Q! It melts..just melts...heaven on your tongue... The Seoul Wings amazng ...it cuts through the sweetness of the bbq glaze on the other meat. You think it shouldn't work but oh my god it does!! The ribs are ok... I'm not a fan of baby back but there ok.. The pulled pork is lovely. The loaded fries are fabulous. Onion rings ace. Chili bites, not spicy enough for me but well cheesy. Bbq'd corn a bit tough but ok, the blue cheese dip the best I've had outside of my own kitchen! Proper lumps of blue cheese !! The burgers are really good to!! The meat riot platter .....this us were it declines...but only slightly...last time i went and we had the platter..whilst ok..it seemed to have been sitting under a hot plate for a little to long....some food had started to dry out and was not hot. My friend (his first time) thought it was fab. So maybe I've been spoiled by having separate dishes previously. Also sticking a pork sausage on the platter (no real skill in cooking a sausage😉) and not being able to swap it for wings seemed a bit petty and disappointing. Your restaurant is a godsend even though its an hour round trip, its well worth it and at least a once a month pilgrimage for my family (and any friends we can drag along!) Hats off to your Pit Boss!! As Arnie did say....I'll be back!

Visited on the recommendation of a friend, though we had to wait over half an hour for food it was worth the wait. We ordered the brisket board which was worth the money and very tasty, would have liked more meat. Would return to try other items on the menu.

The decor is very well achieved and it brings you to Texas right away. All the food was very nice. I'd particularly recommend the burnt ends and the delicious rack of ribs, though we also enjoyed the korean wings, nachos with chicken, and the cheese fries. The cocktails were ok, though the list is lacking (currently mostly based on vodka or rum, and just one gin option), considering the theme I'd expect particularly more Texan/Mexican inspired cocktails, as you would find while in Texas. Service was very good and staff friendly. The constructive feedback I would share is to consider lowering the sweetness just a tad of the sauce covering the ribs and wings, and given that the buffalo cauliflower is one of the very few vegetarian options it shouldn't be so spicy, or at least give more than one option of level of spice. Finally, a suggestion or request: add tequila and particularly mezcal inspired cocktails to the list. For example, I had the 'Dark & Smokey' and it would have been so much better with a smokey mezcal. Its delicious, give it a try!

Fantastic evening for my sons 24 th birthday celebration. Food was spot on , service spot on. Had a great time. Restaurant was full up. They maybe need to expand the veggy options. Will certainly return.

The cheesy chips what I ordered were just plain chips :( I couldn’t really check as everything was boxed up ready for collection and felt kinda rushed

3rd visit and we had a great meal. Food was great and the service good. The only negative is that we were charged £5 extra for BBQ sauces. This I find crazy in a BBQ restaurant. I don’t think it is acceptable when our bill for 4 was £175 for one course. It’s a shame and would make me think twice about going again. I hate to feel like I have been taken for a ride.

Really tasty BBQ and great service, I went with a mate and his two boys, the children's menu was great for them, and we shared the meat riot board that provided us with a selection of smoked meats including brisket, burnt ends, ribs and sausage, we also had a side of coleslaw. Drinks menu was good, service was great. Parking is limited outside but we parked down the road and walked.

Went back for Thanks Giving (as my other half is 🇺🇸) and had a sharing platter with a few sides, the food was fantastic 🤤 nice friendly service too, fantastic place Great place for food & beer, had burnt ends, chicken burger, cheesey fries and jalapeño poppers all very nice indeed, will definitely be back 😋👌🏻

If you live within 500 miles of Smokeshed, you don't have any excuse for not eating here. It's really that good. UPDATE: Took my brother and cousin for a meal last night and they loved it, they didn't quite travel 500 miles, but I'm sure they would have. One of them even tried the Hot wing challenge (he did it, but it was a close thing)

Some hits, some misses, but for what was effectively the main event, namely the meat, was mostly misses! Brisket was ok, not as tender as I’d like, half a rack of ribs, consisted of 5, over cooked baby back ribs, not a fan of fall off the bone, much prefer competition style, but this is obviously just my preference, pulled pork had zero smokiness and lacked that, deep, ruby red colour, so I question how long it’s smoked for, if at all. Sides were good, although didn’t like the BBQ sauce in the pit beans, tasted shop bought, not homemade, also kids burgers/hockey pucks were massively over cooked, but maybe that’s just because they were for kids, overall not impressed for a £100 meal i’m afraid! Service was good, but when asked how it was, and I remarked not great, zero follow up! Possibly just a bad day at the office, but doubt I’d give them another go, considering there’s much better out there! A shame as this is quite local.

We checked this place out for the 1st time in a long time last Friday 01st Nov 24. And I'm so glad we did. Every dish we had was delicious and captured the true smoky flavours of proper American BBQ. We had the brisket (really tender and smoke fused) half rack of ribs (fall off the bone tender, just how I like them) honey and seasme chicken wings (lovely) fully loaded fries with pulled pork (awesome) and corn ribs (utterly delicious). I really like the vibe and music that was playing and service was quick without being overly fussy. Drinks selections was good too, although I just stuck with Beavertown Neck Oil the wife had a cocktail. I'm not sure if there was a dessert menu but we were all too full to ask. Suggestion if you are eating wings - provide a water clean up bowl perhaps, they are very sticky! Will definitely be coming back soon. Thanks again!

Second visit in 3 months with family. This place gets busy, so make sure to book at weekends. You can park in the Sainsburys round the corner, but only for 2 hours. The bbq here is really very good. The meat riot board is really good value and feeds at least 2 hungry people. Wings are also excellent, I can see why they have one awards for them. Service was much better in October visit that July, so bear that in mind when reading the comment about service. Will definitely be returning for a third visit.

Went for my Son 27th Birthday the food is unreal and lots of it , good value for money and people lovely , Laura the owner was so nice , will be going back soon .

Came here for a late lunch on recommendation of friends. We were one of two tables here and the waitress was really nice and sat us down anywhere we wanted. A few minutes later our drinks order was taken and she asked if we wanted some more time to order food, which we did. Got our drinks soon after. We then sat for 20 minutes with no order being taken and no notice being taken of us either. I tried to get her attention but to no avail. She then started making in roads into the huge pile of washing up that was left over from a clearly busy lunch service and I thought, 'its ok, she'll come to use after that'. She did not. A this point I had had enough. There were three kitchen staff, the waitress and then two other staff doing some sort of computer based work on the table along from us. this should have been more than enough to manage a restaurant with five customers spread over two tables. We got up to leave and went to pay for out drinks. This clearly got the waitresses back up as she asked for a reason we were leaving as our food was being cooked. I replied it wasn't being cooked, as we hadn't had an order taken. I said it wasn't on to be sat 20 minutes without being acknowledged, to which she started arguing it had only been 18. If she was able to watch the clock that closely, she should have had enough free time to wander the ten feet to my table and take my order. No apology, no contrition just a bad attitude. I had to leave at that point for fear of being rude. Everyone makes mistakes and that's fine, but admit to them, apologise and make it right. Don't argue, especially when you are obviously incorrect, you will just look incompetent Shame actually as the food that was prepared for the table who were lucky enough not to be completely ignored looked pretty good!

As a group, We weren’t entirely sure what starter, main and desert we all wanted upfront. We went to order our starters and drinks while we decided about the rest. Apparently this is against company policy and should order everything all at once. As a result, we paid for our starters and drink, then ate our mains and deserts at another local restaurant I’ve never experienced anything like it and I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. Such a shame as the starters were tasty, but we weren’t allowed to order anything else so cannot comment further.

Incredible Food and Amazing Service!! I've visited Smokeshed many times over the years, and it never fails to disappoint. There's always a fantastic atmosphere, which is consistently paired with the friendly service that’s provided. The front-of-house staff are so polite and patient as well as very hard working ensuring your experience is always the best possible. The food is UNREAL, with so much to chose from including the Beef brisket, Burnt ends, Chicken wings and Burgers. Always a hard decision on what to have but whatever you chose will not disappoint at all. If you’re stuck for ideas head over to there instagram! The kitchen staff always do an incredible job of ensuring all food is hot and served quickly which always looks amazing on the plate! They have an amazing drink selection from cocktails, beers and milkshakes as well as some lovely desserts (leave some room for the desert)!! Overall the restaurant is amazing for friends and family with a huge selection of food. If you haven’t been you need to go….. PS- (make sure to book a table)

The Staff at this place are extremely Rude, We spoke with a lady called Ella who refused to take our booking of 12 People just because we requested to not be sat on bar stools as we had young children, honestly her tone on the phone from the first word was miserable and Rude, I would highly advise Ella to source a way to be happier, or get a new Job!

Came with friends and we was so disappointed. Everything was so dry, platter board costing £65 smothered in lettuce like come on, it’s a BBQ spot I haven’t come for a board for that much £ full of unwashed bagged salad. Don’t waste your time.

I arrived on time to collect an was told my food will be 2 minutes. 15 minutes later I got my food. Portion sizes were half what they are when you go into the restaurant. Half the chips, half the buffalo cauliflower. Usually a regular and happy customer but I have paid over £60 for this and it is a pathetic amount of food.

The food is was pretty nice, but I wouldn’t say it was amazing in comparison to how much it costed. Service was good, but it felt quite crowded when I attended. Nothing negative to report but just feel that it was slightly pricey for what it was. Overall it was a nice experience but I can’t say I would be rushing back.

This is a fantastic restaurant. The food, drinks and service great. We have been many times and you will not be disappointed. The brisket and burnt ends are devine!

Disappointing Recent Visits to Smoke Shed I've been a regular customer at Smoke Shed and have always enjoyed their food—until recently. Last week, my visit was quite disappointing. The ribs, usually tender and falling off the bone, were dry with hardly any BBQ sauce on them, The burgers were chewy and unpleasant to eat with no flavour, which is a shame as the burgers are usually very good. We thought it might have been an off day, so we decided to give it another try this week, but unfortunately, the experience was just as bad. The ribs remained dry, the nachos were bland and the guacamole and salsa had no flavour, The brisket was also tough and lacking the usual depth of flavour. It's disappointing to see the quality decline so drastically after so many great visits in the past. I hope they can get back to the standard they were known for.

Went with my wife and teenage kids. Food was very good. Really nice smoke. The sharing boards are good value. One gripe was service was very slow. Staff seemed to be chatting at the end of the bar and not paying attention to diners. We waited mores than 20 minutes to have our order taken, for example, then 20 minutes for food. The only problem with that is that the Sainsburys crapark limits you to 2 hours. After eating our excellent main courses a couple of us wanted deserts but asked how long it would take to serve them and were told 15 minutes - unfortunately we had only 20 minutes left on the carpark and so had to go without.

Very busy but didn’t stop the lady’s giving a service with a smile, they were so lovely and kind. The place had a great vibe and the food was just spot on, if you like Berle meat then I would check this place out. My recommendations would be the food boards and the milkshakes. The toilet reminded me of Yellowstone, had a cowboy vibe.

Was massively looking forward to trying the food after the hype and reputation, but sadly my husband and I were left feeling disappointed. My husband had the classic burger which was an average burger and tasted. I had a fried chicken burger. Whisky the taste was good, the chicken was not as crispy as it could have been. We were also disappointed with the loaded fries. They were tasty overall but tasted like they were frozen chips. Given the prices, it was a let down sadly. Would have like to have tried the wings too, but dont think we will be ordering any time soon.

Was asked to come earlier than our booking as there were issues in the kitchen. Staff were still very attentive and the food was excellent.

Really Disappointed as was asked for a £10 per head deposit for 10 people. We had 6 arrive and spent almost £300 (ordering more than 16 dishes). However the restaurant charged us £40 for the 4 people who were unable to attend. I would understand if the restaurant was fully booked, however there were empty tables as it was mid week.

Great service and friendly staff meets awesome food and real portions. If you are hungry come here and you won't be disappointed. Full rack of ribs with coleslaw and loaded fries and you may need to be carried out. Prices are very reasonable and value for money. Thanks chef Highly recommend

Was a quite afternoon for them but the staff where incredible and spoke to us about all things smokehouse! Atmosphere was lovely, staff fantastic and the food incredible!

Been looking forward to going for ages! But it was average to be fair. There was a major delay on ribs (couple of hours) so went for the beef brisket instead. It tasted alright but was so dry. Atmosphere was good you just had to have a shout to each other over the music and it was generally busy. Service was alright overall but after asking for more cutlery a few times we just got up and grab some of other tables as we had the food on the table.
