Delicious food as always. My favourite cafe in Hoddesdon and lovely staff too ☕️

In often pop in, normally for a drink, I'm yet to eat in but I can't wait, the staff are wonderful,it's a really chilled place, nice and comfortable too.

Food is excellent. Jacket potato cooked perfectly, substantial portions and salad dressed with balsamic and olive oil which is always a good sign . Good value for money. Server could’ve smiled and been more friendly but other than that will come again.

Very expensive for what you get.

Visited today 2 flat whites 2 slices of toast with marmalade toast overdone price over £14. This is extortionate when queried staff member rather rude, no wonder businesses are closing.

If you love a full English, the Chateau cafe is a prime destination in Hoddesdon High Street. There's plenty of comfy seats with a small playroom for tots to the rear. Wifey had avocado with smoked salmon of generous proportions. A great addition to local eateries.

Worst breakfast I’ve had from a cafe, overpriced and the portion was enough to feed a small rabbit. Bacon was laughable size of a little finger and the sausages tasted like they came from a horse. Avoid at all cost

I have been here many times, always the staff are very professional, quick but patient, the food is always amazing, this time I had sourdough bread, avocado, poached eggs bacon and salad with balsomic drizzel, I didnt leave anything it was delicious and I would highly recomend you try it,

Had latte and toast, the latte was only warm , the toast was hard as rock , so only two stars a better cafe a few doors down the street

First time visiting today, but won't be the last. Delicious meal, poached egg, bacon, avocado on sourdough toast...yum. Coffee was very good too...

Absolutely perfect for me, lovely porridge cooked fresh and not just water added into a pot like all the other cafes in town, with fresh fruit on top and organic honey to pour as needed....... couldn't have been served up any better. I don't pretend to be a coffee expert but I found the coffee delicious with a strong flavour yet mellow and no bitterness. The place looks delightfully clean and bright and very welcoming and friendly staff. Bravo #foodie #perfecto #chateaucafe #cafe

I have visited here with family a few times and increasingly I have been coming here for breakfast with my girlfriend. The staff always serve us quickly and are very accommodating when I come with someone who has an allergy or does not want certain toppings or elements to their breakfast.

Nice coffee and choc orange cake sitting outside people watching yesterday in the sun. Good service..great coffee..two good flat whites and am a good coffee seeker. You can sit inside too..comforable seating by the look and a selection of teas and cold drinks/ smoothies too. Lite bites available. Go try.

Food - adult food was great, kids food sub par especially for the price. Service - bit of a fawlty towers vibe going on, no one really knows what's going on. Had to ask three seperate times for the rest of the order. But the guy that served us a couple of them times was really friendly. The little kids area they have is nice, but it shows they aren't really bothered about its upkeep, barely anything works.,

Expensive. Decor & atmosphere nice. Quite high prices . I had 2 pieces of toast with smashed Avacado with a few chickpeas on top and a tiny bit of salad £7.95! Tea is almost £3! 🙄 Shame as it's pleasant and chilled out there. Staff ok 1of them seemed very stressed out and didn't make any effort to smile .

Took kids for a cake, all were dry and stale, they were not covered. For near enough £4 a slice should be kept fresh. Ended up wasting most of eat. I’ve had cake there before and it was delicious the last few times I’ve been it’s been awful. Lunch and drinks seems ok.

Poor customer service. I have come to this place almost every day for the last 4 months and every single day they make you feel unwelcome and unwanted. I will not go there again.

Disappointed whilst the atmosphere was ok , none of my friends were impressed with the food, we ordered bacon toasties, a little slow in arriving, but it was busy. The toast was barely toasted and the bacon was tasteless, and then there was no brown sauce, a must for a bacon sandwich. The only saving grace was the tea

Lovely decor and friendly service. My flat white and lemon cake was nicely presented. My wife really enjoyed her tea and cake too. A nice surprise in our visit.

Lovely pretty cafe with nice staff. Good to see vegan choices on the menu. The vegan salted caramel cake was delicious!

I love this place, the food is healthy and always arrives perfectly prepared, The cost isn’t unreasonable and everything is fresh. I don’t believe I’ve had to wait too long to be served or to receive drinks and food. The staff are marvellous, I’ve been looked after several times by Millie who is the perfect example of customer friendly pleasant person, so very conscientious, so thanks Millie and the rest of the team, 👍👍 Mike

Lovely cafe on our doorstep. Often use it My only criticism is that it would be nice to have a smile when being served. A friendly smile goes a long way.

Fresh looking menu and great staff. I've been going here for a while now and keep going back! A modern yet classical take on a "Cafe" with healthy but tasty food. Not your fried breakfast style place, but somewhere different to take friends and make friends and eat well.

Interested to hear about the healthy fruit smoothies. Ordered a banana, strawberry and orange. Watched the preparation. Basically it’s one banana. The strawberry and orange flavours are just carton juices. £4.35. That is not a smoothie at all. Very disappointed.

We came here for pancakes and were greatly disappointed to find they were store bought pancakes. This should be highlighted on your menu. A cafe like this should be able to make fresh pancakes. Not impressed with the food. Service was spot on.

Lovely cafe, very cute decor. Service was quick and friendly. Great vegan options on the menu although only tried the cake and smoothie, which was delicious. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back again to try the food. Only issue was the drinks came in a disposable cup despite sitting inside, would have much preferred a glass (to reduce plastic waste), I would love to see glasses for cold drinks in the future.

Nothing like last time I came ! poor food thrown together, £7.25 for a wrap I expect it to be filled was empty near on! poor customer service to miserable as sin. Toast came out with no butter, and milkshakes turned into slush ??? Lovely menu to look at shame they don’t deliver what you read!! Wouldnt give it any stars at this point. Would love to see them turn it around. I know it’s been hard for cafes etc but don’t skimp back and upset the customers paying!

Lovely little cafe which serves very nice food

Fast and friendly service, delicious fresh food and good prices. Menu simple as you can see. Tables spread out nicely and not too close together. A lovely section at the back with toys, so you can relax with your kids playing safely close by - genius! A lovely little cafe.

This is a lovely little cafe on the High Street. First impressions are always good and this one has lots of kerb appeal. The food is lovely and the coffee is good too, a nice place to stop and relax, watch the world go by

I don’t really want to give this a 5* review because then I probably won’t get a table! Food, drink and service are superb and many local restaurants could learn from the Chateau 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️

Great breakfast and very pleasant staff

Beautiful little boutique cafe. This little cafe is a gem amongst all the high street chains that are about. It is wonderfully decorated throughout and a really nice place to sit and relax, or catch up with friends for a while. The coffee is great and they have a wide range of other hot and cold drinks, including protein smoothies. The food menu is small, but very much in keeping with the whole image of the cafe. Various breakfast plates which look amazing and a small selection of sandwiches, all made with sourdough. I have been visiting hear semi-frequently. Better than any Starbucks, Costa or Cafe Nero.

I feel rushing in my order.. please costumer need time and little space don't stay on front of me until decide it ..

We love the toasties here and the coffee is superb !! We miss coming here and really hope they will open again soon !! Hope to see you in the Summer xxx

I was so surprised at the service, charming staff, beverages and menu of this little cafe on the High Street in Hoddesdon. If you look towards the back, there are lounging areas which are great for meeting up. I didn't eat as we just popped in with our dogs (who were made a fuss of and brought water) for a coffee. The menu looks lovely and the food very fresh and lots of healthy choices for everyone. Will be back for lunch very soon.

A little more up market than your average café. I had a very colourful wrap. Nicely presented. Perhaps a little more pricey but you get what you pay for. will be going back.

Delicious breakfast. Great service - a gem on the higher street. Love the gluten free cake options to take home a slice too.

We had lunch here on Monday, 5 adults and 2 one year olds; the service and food were excellent. We particularly came for the play area, which the children enjoyed - they were the only ones in it! High chairs were readily available and comfy looking sofas, if you just wanted a coffee and a chat. This was my first visit but I look forward to coming back.

A very clean and comfortable cafe in the High Street. Didn't try the food but the cafe latte was very good and so was the service. They do take debit cars.

We arrived at 08:00, on our appointed day and time only to be told that our tyres hadn't been delivered.We wouldn't be able to have them fitted until the next day. There are no appointment times and the system is quite chaotic. It was during the recent heat wave and altho' there was a drinks vending machine, there was a large sign stuck on the front basically saying that they we awaiting the owners to come and remove the appliance. Whether they hadn't paid the rent or dues, who knows but it wasn't wery welcoming. And there wasn't any bottled water on site, we were directed 400 Mt's towards Hertford to the snack bare in Wickes car park. Oh, such hospitality!

Good decor, excellent and fast service. Had the eggs benedict - good - but would prefer an alternative base such as an English muffin rather than sourdough that I find too tough for this meal... Minor point however. Recommend :)

I’ve been going to this cafe for over a year. The staff are very good and take the time to talk and ask how you are. Breakfasts and lunches are healthy options that are always presented in a professional way. The food and cakes are excellent.

I think, they think, they are an 'artisan coffee house'. If you want that, then go there. Me? I want either tea or coffee without the faff and pretention.

Great place for a coffee or lunch when you have small children/baby. There is toy room for kids at the back and also cosy sofas if breastfeeding. The food is very nice and staff always friendly.

Met my friend today for lunch at the café. The perfect spot on a very wet and windy day. It was the first time I had been. The owners are very friendly and the pleasant waitress came immediately to take our drinks order. My friend just had a glass of water and but I was brought my large strong Americano coffee with hot milk as requested. For lunch, I ordered the Spanish toastie of chorizo, manchego cheese, onion relish on sourdough bread and a side salad. My friend had a Greek avocado open sandwich with side salad. Both were freshly prepared and very tasty. We couldn't resist the selection of cakes and had an orange chocolate cake and a lemon drizzle cake together with a pot of tea. The cakes are made by a local outside cook and were very good. The café was not very busy and we were able to enjoy our food and conversation at our leisure. Highly recommend.

Go there on a regular basis. The food is very good and the staff are brilliant. I’m glad they allow dogs in. When I take mine they always provide him a water dish

Lovely little place! A credit to Hoddesdon! The staff and Friendly, Fun, Attentive and all out brilliant, they really can't do enough for you. The servers remember customers and build up a rapport with customers. Melissa in particular stands out for this, always bubbly, laughing and making jokes with customers of all ages. The menu isn't huge and over bearing and it offers lovely choices and combinations that will please every body. I chose the Greek Toast & added 3 poached eggs! The quality of food is superb, with service to match! Offering a wide selection of hot and cold beverages and a temptingly brilliant selection of sweet treats, Cakes, slices, brownies! Quirky interior and family friendly, good crowd. I visit every Saturday morning, post gym! The owners are fantastic and are willing to take on new ideas. Pricing (for me) is fine, you may pay a little more in here as opposed to a regular cafe etc but nothing is regular about this place and I'm a firm believer in supporting small business , mam & paps kinda places! Use it or lose it! See you in there!

Good staff, great service. But.....Too many children running amok. We spotted one 2 year old escaping into the car park from the rear entrance door, we immediately rescued her and returned her to her parents who were unaware of the danger she was in oblivious to her existence. Prior to that the child was in a staff only room with many dangers like gas and boilers.

This is my go to cafe when in Hoddesdon! It’s lovely! Beautiful decor, delicious food and friendly staff. The food is truly great, the presentation is perfect, tastes amazing and it’s quick and well priced.

Started coming here 2 weeks ago after a recommendation. Can honestly say it’s now one of my favourite place to relax and eat. Friendly staff, fantastic atmosphere and fab food👍. Ben
