Gulshan in Broxbourne

Our son has a peanut and nut allergy and Gulshan have given us the confidence to enjoy a meal and takeaway. They have taken such care and diligence to make sure the food is safe. Their food is delicious and the owners and staff are lovely. We would highly recommend.

Went there with friends for the first time tonight - very tasty food, very well priced, nice atmosphere and superb staff. Really pleasant evening. We'll deffo be going back.

For me and a couple of friends this has become our monthly curry place. They're reasonably priced and the service is great. I've never felt rushed or pressured in there and the food is delicious. I'm partial to their madras and dhansak but my friends also recommend the chicken tikka masala as well. (I prefer something a bit more spicy) As a group of friends we spent a year trying a different curry place each month in and around broxbourne and this one was one of (if not) the best (there was a an excel sheet and everything it was very nerdy). So anyway I'd recommend giving them a try.

As always, the most perfect meal and is only bettered by the extra perfect welcome and service. Well worth the 9hr drive from Kernow

I CANNOT praise this restaurant and it's staff enough. We popped in for a takeaway yesterday night - yet another reminder of why we are so lucky it's our 'go to' and nearby restaurant. The food is always exceptional. Flavoursome, beautifully cooked and presented.....and they are happy to do Kashmiri Chicken with Lychees (a creamy and sumptuous dish of the heavens!). No matter what you order, it's going to be wonderful! The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful and owner is one of the loveliest people you could ever meet!! We spoke with him for some time before leaving about family, work and life. He and his staff work so hard to provide this fantastic service. We expected it to be fully on a Friday night at 9pm but the Manager said that since Covid, business has halved because noone eats out later any more......even younger folks. So I'd really love to encourage more people to come to Gulshan restaurant!!!! You will not be disappointed. And chat to the Manager - he's such an interesting and lovely gentleman!!!!

Our regular, we have been eating here for years. Fantastic food. Most dishes on menu can be vegetarian and taste so good. My husband, friends etc say the meat dishes are excellent. Flavours are wonderful across the board. Any friends we take to gulshans return and our visiting family always ask us to book a table. Staff are so friendly and always willing to discuss dishes to help you decide. We love it here.

I order 2 x Plain naan I get just one...The last time I ordered Curry it was delicious. Today it tasted like tomato puree.I am very sad because I have to give up this restaurant.

Yummy as always Pricey but worth it

We happened by here and really liked it. The food was very good and the plates were preheated and the portions were just right. The cellar was polite, friendly and attentive. Price/performance is right.

Never had anything other excellent meals from the Gulshan, cannot recommend highly enough.

Food was hot and tasty as usual. Only one issue is the cauliflower needs to be cooked longer before going into the Bhaji as was rock hard and inedible. Young lady who delivers is always polite, friendly and smiling.

Good atmosphere but I think the management thinks their food is tops - it isn't. Chicken tikka masala was bright red, too sweet, hardly any chicken. Tiny portion of rice. Service so poor too. Had to chase for water and were literally given five glasses and the smallest jug of water ever. Among 9 people. Really disappointed as was my Aunt and her group. We had driven 45 mins to get here too. Sorry cannot recommend

Dish full of onions and peppers and lacked the lamb, chicken and prawn that was promised. The curry was grainy and not very nice. The rest of the food was bland and tasteless. This was a total waste of money not good at all. Try anywhere else. Update: Despite reading the reviews below that document how the management have responded to previous claims, I decided to give the Gulsan a chance to rectify the situation. The management told me they had never had any complaints in 20yrs. Please see other reviews. The manager said I just wanted free food and that I was not genuine. This is despite offering to return the food that was poor. He was very rude. I'm not sure that was an Islamic report

Ordered a takeaway asked for tandoori prawns amongst other dishes. I received pieces of prawns and they weren’t tandoori. Madina does proper tandoori and the king prawns are whole.

Meal was nice. Assume late as a busy evening? A text message to say that would have been appreciated as we ended up ringing to check it was on it's way

Food was alright but what’s really bad is that you can’t have a glass of tap water due to them saying about a water bill which it ridiculous as they make thousands a day an other places don’t do the same. Very disappointing

Lovely food with great flavour and hot despite a cold evening.

I’ve ordered 2x lamb biriani x2 nans,last night..and was disappointed with the amount of meat in the servings((4-5 pieces very small) and the size of nans,sizes are small compared to other places.

Hadn’t been here in several years but very pleased to say it’s still the same!, good quality food and a very reasonable price, had the railway lamb which is hearty and very tasty, spinach rice and the cauliflower baji went down very well with our group, service was attentive whiteout being pushy, thoroughly recommend

Okay, this is hands down the best restaurant in the area. Ive tried all the indian joints on this road and trust an indian, this is the most authentic and tasty food I had. Definitely recommend the chef specials. I know it doesnt look great from the outside, but the food is fantastic. You know what they say, the least fancy place serves the best food.

The Call handler is just as important as the chef, I explained how I wanted the food and it came just as I wanted it. The spice and favour the recommended side dish absolute perfection. They make what you want. Go to take away Indian! Thanks guys

Excellent service friendly staff

Have eaten in the restaurant on a number of occasions and the food has always been excellent. We decided to try a takeaway meal and quite frankly it was the worst meal we have ever had. All the meals were swimming in grease, the salad was packed in the middle of the bag making it warm and this was also greasy. We thought given the price it would be restaurant quality unfortunately this was not the case. Will not be using again.

This is the third time we have been to Gulshan and on each visit it has been excellent. The food is very good and combined with the excellent and friendly service is always. and enjoyable night out. The restaurant is in a parade of shops & is easy to miss. There is parking outside.

As I am unable to go out after hospital stay of 3.5 months my first treat was to be a delivery from what was my favourite Indian restaurant. I was shocked to find the portions had shrunk considerably. The lamb pasanda only had 6 small pieces of meat in it, the remainder just sauce. The rice was less and the naan bread was not as it used to be but far smaller. Sorry lads.. we’ve been going to your restaurant since you were over the road and recommended to many. I am now reluctant to recommend. Other takeaways in the area are very good but loyalty has kept us with you so far.

Went to Gulshan last night (19.10.22) - the food was fantastic , one of the best Indian meals I have had in a long time , very fresh and great taste . The owner was very friendly and made ourselves very welcome - will be returning asap

Was disappointed with the portions . This restaurant usually sends really good portions of really tasty food . Today small rice , small onion Bhaji . The main dish had hardly any meat mostly onion . For 20 meal hoped for more as had in the past from here

Absolutely lovely take away, very light and fresh spices, not heavy and over spiced. Very generous portions and we will be returning very soon.

I haven’t ordered an Indian take away for quite a while because I prefer making my own but I was really impressed with Gulshan. I’m sure I’ve had it before a while back but if it was this good I would’ve been ordering it every week. Something must’ve changed. Well done thank you, will definitely order again.

The food did taste nice, but nothing different to what I've had before. However, they did give me chicken when I'd ordered fish and there were 5 pieces of chicken in each dish cos I counted, and the smallest naans I've ever see . So overall a bit overpriced for what you get I think. Probably nicer to eat in. Also it took an hour and a half to arrive but it was Saturday night.

Gulshan is always a favourite of mine. They have classic curry’s done well as well as original curry’s that you won’t find in many other local places (my personal favourite of Railway Lamb for example). I cannot recommend Gulshan highly enough and I cannot wait to come back.

We ordered through just-eat and no problem with the ordering. The delivery driver was friendly and polite. The food... Well my husband had Prawn Vindaloo, extremely spicy, it was nice but not worth what we paid for it. We got 3 onion bhaji's, bit tasteless and for the price, expected a little more than that. I had Chicken Korma, it was relatively warm, not sugary or anything. The rice was average,no better than a microwave one though. The Naan was not tasty and looked a bit undercooked, also on the small and thin side. We paid £31 for the 2 of us, and honestly, I wish we'd saved our money and brought a supermarket one, because it wasn't any better than that! Save your money and buy a decent supermarket one! We could have sent it back, or phoned up, but honestly, we were starving and hadn't eaten all day. After a hectic week, we wanted to have a once in a blue moon treat... Never again. Sorry Gulshan, but you really need to increase your quality for the prices that you are charging. It really isn't about the money, but the quality of your food isn't something to be proud of, it's rather dire in fact.

Had an amazing meal delivered by Gulshan last night, the Sag aloo is the best I've ever tasted and everything was fresh and nothing was oily it was just a shame the chicken was dry in the madras but other than that I can't fault it. I've been trying to find my go to indian take-away for a while now and I've defiantly just found it

Never fail to impress!! We have takeaways from them most weeks. Ate in the restaurant tonight for my birthday. Great service and the food is to die for. Their saag aloo is a real treat!!

Sonny and the team will always see us coming in for the special deal or ordering a takeaway at least once or twice a week. We love a hot curry and the guys at the Gulshan never fail to disappoint with an amazing curry packed full of flavour and taste. Great recommendations on new dishes to try and great customer service. So lucky to have this place so close to home.
