We looked the the menu, but only wanted a sandwich, priced at over £11. We ordered a fish finger and a sausage sandwich. My fish fingers were lovely, my friend said her sausage was nothing special. I loved dogs, but there was a dog wandering around the restaurant whilst we were there. It would put a lot if people off

We enjoyed a delicious lunch yesterday. The food was very nicely presented. Perfectly cooked scallops, really tasty, spicy chicken wings (sometimes restaurants say food is going to be spicy but these had a good amount of heat) and my husband's fish pie was the best he'd ever eaten with plenty of fish and a lovely cheesy mash topping. The restaurant is very comfortable and service was spot on. We finished with some more wine and a coffee on the outside terrace on a warm October afternoon watching the boats go by.

We went here on our boating holiday we got the seafood cocktail at £10.95 to share as a starter, there was literally no prawn Marie Rose sauce 4 small prawns and a little smoked salmon, a unveined shrimp and the rest was large lettuce leaves. For mains I had the haddock and chips which was ok however my wife had the pork meatball linguini and there was nothing on the plate for £20!! We complained as there was only five small meatballs on her plate we were told this was the standard and after showing her real disbelief they brought my wife 5 more small meatballs. No table service either for this kind of money you have to go to bar and order!!! Overall a very poor experience, one which we will never be repeating.

I went for lunch today at the waterside terrace. On the website it says 12. 95 for haddock n chips . On the menu in the restaurant it was £17. So you need to update your website price menu. Next time I'll just have a drink then go on MC Donald's next door.

Two sandwiches took about 40 mins to serve. The chef was completely unaware of main allergens in his food. The manager came out, was rude, interrupted the waitress and practically told us the chef wasn’t happy to serve us. Thankfully the waitress was amazing, checked and double checked everything for us and was really apologetic.

MORE AT TripAdvisor

Food is overpriced, service is ‘interesting’. A starter of venison and pecorino ravioli is £9.50. For that you get two small (and I do mean small) ravioli swimming in a sea of melted truffle butter. Two ravioli for £9.50, it should have tasted amazing at that price. It was mediocre at best. To be fair, the rest of the meal wasn’t bad, it’s just overpriced for what it is. At these prices the Wroxham Hotel restaurant is competing with the nearby Norfolk Mead, and several very good restaurants in Norwich, and there is simply no comparison - the prices charged by the Wroxham Hotel restaurant are just not justified given the nearby competition. In terms of the service, the staff are friendly, but they’re just not ‘on it’ and lack basic courtesy. We were left hanging around on arrival, then we were put on a table next to a couple with a large dog - not a problem for us as we have dogs, but the staff weren’t to know that and should have asked before seating us. When we asked for the bill, we were left with the card machine whilst the waitress stood next to the table and had an extended conversation with one of her friends. She did apologise to us afterwards, but it was just rude to do that in the first place. It’s also a noisy restaurant, which makes it quite difficult for people who wear hearing aids. Some acoustic panels to absorb some of the sound would help. It’s a pity with this being a local restaurant to us that this was our experience, as we enjoy going out and don’t mind paying a bit more for a good dining experience. Unfortunately, the standard set when we dined there was well below the expectations we had given the prices charged.

Walked in today as a group of 9. Got sat quickly and drinks order taken quickly as well. Poor girl who brought the drinks over to us however clearly hadn't been communicated by the bar staff what the drinks actually were because she had no clue, not an issue though as we knew what they were. Got our food order taken within about 10 minutes and then half an hour later the waiter came out and told us that on the pizza they didn't have any pulled pork and asked if we still wanted the pizzas, no attempt at an apology though. They did and we waited a further 25 minutes for them to come out. We were panicking because we only had a couple hours on our parking and it was cutting it fine. When the food came out the Three Little Pigs pizza was missing half of it's ingredients on all three of them. They were supposed to have Chutney, Gherkins and Rocket which were non existent let alone the already missing Pulled Pork. The rest of the food was average at best and yet the prices were extortionate! No check back either to ask how our meals were and no attempt at offering us a second drink despite all the empties on the table. The waitress didn't look too happy when we left for not leaving a tip but why would we? You only get a tip for good service and great food, both were lacking today.

My wife and I had dinner here after a day out on the Broads. Our table, by the window was very pleasant with a good view of the river. Food and service were good and my wife's requirements for gluten-free food were fully understood and met. Prices seemed a fraction higher than in most decent places, but not to the point that I would not come back. Maybe we were lucky with the waiting staff we got, but I cannot level the sorts of criticism that I see on this site. There was really nothing to complain about and we will certainly return.

Sad to see the recent negative reviews. We always eat at this restaurant when we visit Wroxham, and have missed our trips during lockdown. We visited yesterday with friends, first of all for a coffee on the terrace before our boat trip, and we booked a table for lunch on our return. It was a little difficult finding staff at first but we found out later in the day why they were short staffed. In the present climate where many hospitality venues have had the worst 18 months imaginable, and are struggling to recruit and retain staff, we turn up to our favourite venues with no expectations, just happy they are still open and to support them until things settle down. So, drinks served swiftly and we relaxed on the terrace enjoying the view of the river. We sat outside again on the terrace for lunch - where all 4 of us enjoyed our meals - haddock and chips and a burger for my husband and friends, whilst I enjoyed the seafood assiette with a rather large portion of chips! Sadly that left no room for dessert. Service was excellent, waiters brought everything we asked for very quickly. Looking forward to a return visit soon, maybe for Sunday lunch.

We had lunch today and as usual the food was great, bar staff excellent as were the two girls that served us..... but the thing with the bluey grey hair was obnoxious from the start., Evil looks, being really loud and pushing past us etc, we asked for the bill and he slapped it down on the table (this is the short version of events). We arn’t sure what his problem was, maybe because we turned up whislt he was talking and he didn’t like it.. not sure... but this level of unprofessionalism is not the standard we are used to or expect from the Wroxham Hotel. It’s a shame as this would have been a 5 start review otherwise.

It was a long time ago that I last visited here. I had met the manager recently and he invited me to come and visit. It was very busy but the staff were excellent. They paid attention to the needs of the customers. I felt safe and happy. The terrace was good and bright. It looked clean, I went for the Haddock and chips. Beautifully cooked, it was crisp but fluffy inside. Excellent. My lemonade was good as well. Attention to detail was good, I loved the fish and chip newspaper under my food. Well done. I chose a desert, sadly the fruit option was missing so I tried a different dessert. It was good but not really my choice. It was a bit small but delightfully presented, always important to me. I wouldn't have it again. Nothing wrong but not my choice. The staff were excellent. I had met Enrico the night before. I was served by Emma who was new, she was excellent. A good day out. i look forward to reading Enrico's review of Mc D'd!

Overall I would say that our visit received a mix of service and quality. Without doubt the restaurant has potential if only they could have a higher level of awareness of the variation. The first meal to arrive was for another table! My wife’s pizza looked great but should have been cooked longer. The topping was overloaded with tomato sauce and cheese but lacked enough ham and pineapple. My Burger deserved a 4 rating. The meat was excellent but over cooked with far to much cheese! When we asked for the bill it was for another table!Better management and better organization will transform the restaurant to a5 star rating.

We chose to eat here rather than the alternatives in the town principally because of its location and good view over the river. The weather was excellent so we opted to sit outside on a terrace to get the best view and we found a spot that was both sheltered from the wind and that provided shade from the sun. The only downside of eating outdoors here (as at many other places these days) is that you also have to endure secondary tobacco smoke and other customers dogs - some of which are much noisier and less well controlled than others. We chose from the menu and placed our order at the bar inside as required and purchased a drink returning outside to wait ... and wait (although we were not in a rush - fortunately). One of us had chosen from the ordinary lunch menu and the other a choice from the (printed) specials menu. Our choices were registered on the electronic till / computer without problem. After waiting for about 30 minutes a member of staff approached to tell us the specials meal choice was not available (despite being accepted when ordered) and asked if I would I like to choose something else. Although a little disappointed as I had really fancied what I had ordered and I made another choice. My second choice was a little more expensive than my initial one and to their credit I was immediately told the amount I had already paid would stand. We then had a further wait before our meals were delivered - the best part of an hour after they were ordered. The meals when they came were both very good. The food was hot, well presented, appetising and enjoyable. The portions were, unexpectedly, enormous. It is not the cheapest place to eat, but it is a hotel and in a prime location with a good view so, on this basis, was reasonable.I would not be put off visiting again - but not if I was in a rush, but would be guarded when I made a meal choice.

This is a good place to have a drink or a meal especially if the weather is good and you can sit outside on the terrace which is right next to the river. Everything has to be ordered at the bar which is inside and up a couple of steps so it's not easy to get back outside with a tray of drinks, but there are plenty of tables inside. We had a good light lunch sitting by the river and watching the boats heading to and from The Broads. Service was helpful and efficient. Having been to Wroxham many times we decided that it was a good time to give this restaurant a try. The menu looked very promising. I chose Moules Mariniere and my wife chose duck with crispy noodles. The service was very friendly and we were given a choice of tables even though it was a fairly busy lunchtime and we had not booked in advance. When the food arrived it looked wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed my mussels. My wife's dish when it arrived was not exactly what was on the menu as it had a generous helping of Asparagus with the noodles, which my wife does not like, and which flavour everything else on the plate. It appears that the chef had decided to add this to the dis, but nobody else was aware. It spoiled an otherwise nice meal.

This was our third visit this year, all the way from sunny Rochdale, and we are never disappointed. This time, we were a party of 11 plus toddler, so I just called in before we boarded for a broads boat trip to book a table for lunch on our return. Staff at the bar were helpful, leading us through to the main hotel reception, and sorting the booking. When we returned, our table was ready, with high chair all ready in place. Everyone in the party enjoyed their lunch, though with hindsight we should have asked if they could bring lunch for our little one ahead of the rest of the table as she was really hungry. Afterwards, Grandpa and my brother retired to comfy chairs at the bar forcoffee whilst the rest of us rushed round shopping. When we returned to collect them, we caught them with cake, which they said was delicious. Sadly, I had to decline the chocolate cherry cake as I was too full! This is officially my favourite restaurant in this area. I will be back!

We had lunch here last time we were in Wroxham in March, and I said we would eat here again so we did! A somewhat different atmosphere with sunshine instead of snow, which meant we were able to sit out on the terrace and enjoy the river view.

I arrived late afternoon and found a great spot on the terrace. Someone came to clear the table so I asked her for a latte - she replied (head down) "order from the bar". I had a sleeping baby in a buggy and there are steps to the bar so I pointed to the pram and again got "order form the bar". I got up and walked out.

We came to Wroxham from Norwich to enjoy the day's sunshine by taking a boat out on the Broad and take in lunch. We were not sure where to try for eating and were so pleased to decide on this restaurant. It is very pleasant to sit overlooking the water and the atmosphere is very relaxed. The brie and bacon ciabatta with dressed salad and fries hit the spot beautifully. The price was very reasonable and the staff were very helpful. I dropped my fork and within a split second the waitress had picked it up and replaced it with a clean one. We had a lovely fresh jug of ice cold water with lemon. We enjoyed our lunch very much.

We first visited on the Saturday evening, was a little harder to find but once found was very impressed with the quite iconic setting. We luckily got a table over looking the river Bure witch is really pretty. Dinner was lovely, not a massive choice of food on the menu however we all did find something. There was 5 of us 4 of us really enjoyed our dinner intact me personally has to state that it is the best steak meal I have had, the fillet steak was just perfect. My dad said his burger was very bland but other then we all enjoyed us, it came out looking very impressive. We then enjoyed some cocktails chilling on the comfy sofas.

The restaurant is part of the Wroxham hotel. My parents and I enjoyed a great meal ( burger, roast pork and cheese souffle), The food we had was tasted homemade, no frozen rubbish that you eat in chain restaurant. I was very impressed with the large veggie side dishes that came with the pork. The burger was was also excellent, much superior to chains such as Bryon or Honest Burger and cosiderably cheaper.

This is in a great position right by the waterside. We visited on a warm sunny day in April and sat outside on the terrace. We just had drinks . It was lovely and relaxing, watching the boats go by and swans on the water. About 15 minute walk from the railway station and near to the boat trips and boat hire places.

With a superb terrace right on the waterfront and what looked to be a recently refurbished bar and restaurant with large windows overlooking the river we were expecting great things from this establishment. It certainly had an upmarket feel about it.We had not booked and when asking for a table for two we were delighted to be given a table by the window with lovely views. Another couple then arrived and were given the last available table by the windows. This was followed by a group of 4 people arriving who had earlier booked a window table only to be told there were no window tables available unless they wanted to sit in the bar. To say they were unhappy would be rather an understatement especially since when they booked no other tables had been reserved. We both had prawn and crayfish starters which very tasty and of a good size, a good start to the meal. We followed with their chicken special which could best be described as a fancy disassembled chicken burger and was nothing special to write home about. For desert my wife had the cake which was very nice and well presented whilst I had eaton mess which would have looked more at home in a fast food place than an upmarket restaurant. Before the meal when our wine was brought to the table is was just plonked down for us to serve ourselves and no taste was offered. Finally when the bill arrived I commented that it seemed very reasonable and paid it without really looking. We then sat chatting to the couple on the next table and some time later the waitress came back to say the bill was wrong and I needed to pay again, was that alright?. A lengthy explanation followed that we hadn't been charged correctly because we had moved tables (which we hadn't) so some of our food had been put on the wrong bill.Would we go back? Would certainly go for a drink on the terrace but not sure about eating in the restaurant. It may have just been an off evening but I would check the latest restaurant reviews to ensure things have improved.

we went to this establishment in the evening after walking around the town for a while. The setting is lovely next to the river. The food leaves a lot to be desired, that is when it arrives, overpriced for the lack of quality and standard of cooking. Although the breakfast may in some cases be free does not give the staff the right to keep people waiting for up to 20 mins to be served. Whilst sitting awaiting our meals quite a number of customers were complaint and yes the manageress did come andtalk to some people then vanish to the bar. Maybe to drown her sorrows. Once bitten twice shy never again.

We arrived about 12 noon and the restaurant was busy but not rushed. We were asked if we'd like drinks bringing while we looked at the menus, which always goes down well as you don't feel hassled. My husband ordered a cooked lunch but I wasn't especially hungry so asked if it would be possible for them to make me a toasted sandwich to specific ingredients. No problem! They couldn't have been more helpful and our meals were served promptly, with side salads and a smile. Within a few minutes we were asked if everything was OK - and yes, it definitely was. Clean, pleasant, nice surroundings and plenty of outdoor seating if the weather is good enough. Well deserved 5 stars!

With just three hours in Wroxham as part of a day excursion to the Broads, I was recommended by a local to a riverside cafe only to find it closed. As it was raining I went next door to the Waterside Terrace Bar and Restaurant and was initially told I was too early for lunch as it wasn't yet noon. I said I would have a glass of wine and wait and was given the choice of two menus from which I ordered the Cromer crab salad and a glass of wine. I paid and expected to take the wine with me but the bar person started serving the next customer and told me my wine would be brought out. The rain had cleared and I took a seat outside with very pleasant views of the river and a myriad of boats. Some time later food appeared and the waiter tried to take my table number but I told him I was still waiting for my wine. When he had gone I realised my 'meal' was not what I expected: I'd been given two sandwiches with a filling which could have been crab but was so overdressed it could have been anything. With this was a few lettuce leaves and a spoonful of a red onion and beetroot coleslaw which again was wickedly overdressed. There were also chips which I don't recall being on my menu selection. I waited for some time for my wine and although I saw the waiter bring orders to people who had arrived after me I was unable to catch his eye. By then the chips were cold, such as they were and I was halfway through my food when it started to rain so picked up everything and went inside. When a waiter passed I again said I hadn't got my wine which caused a discussion at the bar and I was told my wine had been delivered to my table, to which I replied that it most certainly had not; I then had to tell them what I had ordered! Ii tried very hard to find the menu I had ordered from but all that were on show were lunch menus only. I think it highly likely I'd been given another menu in error but I would have expected to be told my crab salad wasn't available and asked to make another selection. I can only hope there are better dining experiences in Wroxham.
