Nice & friendly service. Only had a drink in there, no food

Just very mediocre. Poor quality fish and soggy chips. Overcooked sausage. Was empty on a Saturday night which is an ominous sign. Looks like it's up for sale and they're not really trying.

I had the afternoon Tea here , very clean and nice quiet place to eat , afternoon tea was good , wish it had more savoury than sweet but that's just my preference

Nice fish and chips. Cooked to order don't mind waiting. Fish batter was a bit underdone for me but otherwise ok.

Run of the mill standard chippy. I won't be going again though because the hygiene standards are not up to the mark.

Awful Fish and chips. Batter not crispy chips strag ends. Fish and chips damp due to being served in a polystyrene box. Fish not cooked on request. If you can't get fish batter crispy then your in the wrong business.

Had fish,chips and mushy peas. Food was delicious, just out the fryer so hot . Best fish and chips I've had for a while.

Where do I start with this one? Was back in Darlington visiting Mum and we decided to visit friends in Mowden. I thought I’d treat them all to a fish lunch and popped into this fish & chip shop. What a mistake! Firstly, the large Japanese looking woman with the 1980s hair was quite rude with a young lad in front of me. The girl serving had no customer service skills or manners whatsoever. She was very aggressive and constantly sighing. I asked for 2 fish and chips and 2 sausage and chips and got a TUT!!!! I really should have walked out there and then and saved my money. The food was absolutely disgusting! More grease than I’ve even seen. Soggy, revolting tasting fish and the chips were not nice at all. Our friends told us afterwards that it’s an awful fish shop and they go elsewhere, and that the good reviews on their Facebook page were put by the owners friends and family. I wish I’d read the reviews on here first! Absolutely appalling!

Love this pub - the food was awesome, the atmosphere was great - a little loud and easy going.

Not happy, portion size is incredibly small compared to other branches of Mr Cod, chips were tiny bits and pieces, rather than a full sized chip. Guy at the counter was rude, and not helpful. Don't recommend, go to the Mr Cod in Whitley, way better service.

Best fish and chips, yummy! Would like to see a veggie option, like a veggie burger. I haven't been able to have your fish and chips for ages, as my husband is vegetarian, and the only option for him, is chips and peas.

Really disappointed with the service today, got home and my fish and chips didn't have a fish! Had to go back and get another portion. Didn't even get an apology don't think they believed me.

Just what I needed after a long morning walking around the town. Good quality fish and chips and portions sizes generous.

Literally the best chippy around. Started going here in the last year and the food is always fantastic. Great portions, staff are friendly. Don't know what I did before I ordered from here!
