Had takeaway Cod and Chips x2 delivered after travelling back home from holiday, very impressed with food and service...

Waited 40 minutes for my food and it wasn't very busy. This place is well overpriced for the portion sizes they give. £4.50 for large chips and it's barely a handful. Plenty of green chips too 👎🏽 kids are crying now thanks

There is an outside area where you can sit. And after the very tragic fire, they have been reopened . Let's support local businesses

Had a meal from there for first time since reopened after fire. Very clean and tidy premises. COD and chips and a Huss the one lot off chips fine for both of us . Curry sauce was great, Crackling on fish was lovely and fresh chips. No the cheapest of meals but for a treat sometimes could not beat it

DONT ORDER. Non English driver thick as hell didn't ring the bell. Also they can't get order right. Didn't gwt half the order

Fish was off tasted like disinfectant tried to phone to complain couldn't get through. Very disappointing as have had good food before

Ordered a takeaway for delivery, when we eventually got it the food was good but the delivery service was very poor and half an hour late 😑

They are an absolute Joke. Last 3 orders I have made they have took my money left it nearly 45 minute then cancel my order and then I have to wait days for a refund

Can't believe it. Really fancied sausage and chips. Was happy how quickly it arrived to realise all the chips were stale. Not worth my money at all. Quite gutted to be honest

It was a cold night and I fancied fish and chips so I thought I would give The Cod Father a try. I hadn't been there since new management took over and I wasn't disappointed. The premises were clean and the staff friendly and helpful. There is seating outside which I think will be put to good use once the weather is warmer. There is a good choice on the menu particularly for children. Once you have placed your order there is a wait which is only to be expected as it is all cooked fresh to order. The portions are a good size and the cod itself was nicely cooked - no fish skin, succulent inside and the batter was crispy outside - perfect in fact as were the chips. I will definitely use this place again.

Food is excellent really tasty food is always delivered hot and people are always friendly.

If you like attitude with your fish and chips this is the place (get it) for you. Can't really fault the food but a smile to your customers brings people back. Nothing better than a bit of banter with your batter.

I had high hopes for this place, the reviews were good but these are clearly outdated and standards must have gone down . Took a long time to cook and the potatoes were GREEN. The fish did not taste fresh nor did it look fresh. I would not recommend and I won't be going back.

Came in very close to closing time and still served me even though i could see they were getting ready to go home. Very friendly service and the food was unreal. Highly recommended.

My 1st time order & it was on time, very polite driver, the fish & chips arrived hot & are delicious… I will recommend others to try … I certainly will be again …

Really lovely fresh food, cooked to order

We came across The Codfather after a very late return ferry crossing. We were all tired and hungry, but the staff were very kind and friendly. The chips were freshly cooked and really delicious. There was an outside seating area to wait and our children were offered a complimentary battered sausage because the staff could see how hungry they were. I would highly recommend The Codfather, which is open on Sundays unlike many other fish and chip shops.

I thought I'd give it a go as its new and close enough to my house to stop on the way home. The chips were great and the small cod was more than ample sized and very well cooked. I'll definitely give it another go just for reference. Thumbs up from me.

Chips weren't very nice the battered sausage had hardly any batter on it won't be going bk

You have to wait whilst your food is being cooked five or 10 minutes the chips were horrible and the batter covering the fish which was truly well done I have to say I would not be using that shop again it was not value for money
