Mr Cod 543 Oxford Road in Reading

Very late night dinner on the way home from work, friendly staff, very clean, small area to eat/wait. Lovely masala fish and plenty of piping hot, tasty fresh chips. Revitalised me for the rest of my drive home.

Halal is not only a sticker you decorate your shop with, halal also goes for honesty and earning your money with it, but when you send an order for delivery with last night ( at least ) not one, or tow chicken breasts in tow buns, so you probably don't know anything about halal except the name and the shape of the word

Over an hour late and stone cold

Terrible experiencia. La comida llegó empapada y fría como una piedra, con artículos que faltaban en el pedido. La masa de pescado era absolutamente repugnante: grasosa, flácida y completamente poco apetitosa. Era como si la comida hubiera estado sentada durante horas antes de ser servida. Por el precio, esperaba mucha mejor calidad y atención al detalle. Definitivamente no volveré a pedir desde aquí. ¡Evita!

Not happy, portion size is incredibly small compared to other branches of Mr Cod, chips were tiny bits and pieces, rather than a full sized chip. Guy at the counter was rude, and not helpful. Don't recommend, go to the Mr Cod in Whitley, way better service.

Order was delayed over 30 mins which meant the food was not even warm the delivery time kept changing every 2-3 mins after the order was placed

Nice fresh vegi burger. Chips were fresh but a bit on crispy side for me I prefer them soft. Popcorn chicken actually tasted like Popcorn chicken - nice and hot, tasted fresh.

Sometimes they get the food wrong, not fresh chips that are hard or just tasteless, missing what you paid for like curry sauce. Sometimes you ask for something simple like a mix of sauces but they just add loads and some does not taste great. They could be better I feel.

It was delicious, the fillet was huge, and the chips and gravy was perfect thanks again 👌🏻

Delivery man came with only drinks and no food. He then said that I need to request a refund as he will not go back to get the food. The restaurant rang to say come and pickup the food….well whole point was to get the food delivered!!!! Basically drive was blaming the restaurant and restaurant was blaming the driver no one wanted to take ownership…. @justeat please process my refund!

All it will take is one half decent chicken shop to open in this area of Oxford road to put these guys out of business. They’ve got away with mediocre but fairly affordable food for too long. They slack so much. Fries so greasy, looks like old fries. Sometimes they’re even undercooked. When they are done well they are great fries. Chicken burger… rock hard parts on the chicken breast… very common issue. the most minimal breading as well zero crisp.

Mr Cod is the real pride of Reading. I’ve been going there for over 20 years and will continue to do so. The menu is extensive, staff are always friendly and cheerful and the food is sublime

minimum £10 for card payments! absolutely rubbish they are forcing you to buy at least 2 meals just to pay via card. how are these takeaways allowed to do this. FOR YOUR INFORMATION I WAS REFUSED TO USE MY CARD UNTILL I PURCHASED ANOTHER MEAL AS IT WAS UNDER £10, IF THAT'S NOT FORCE THAN WHAT IS IT?!. ITS MY CHOICE IF I WANT TO PAY CASH OR CARD REGARDLESS! I WILL BE COMPLAINING TO THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES.

The parking here is not great. We ordered fish and chips twice but I was waiting for a friend so did not see it being served up. If I did see what we were presented with I would have requested a refund. £9.99 for fish and chips and the size portion was poor. I know fish has gone up recently but for the amount you get it was nothing but a joke. We were back at the hotel which was a distance away so just had to cut our losses and get food closer to our hotel. Would never return here again. Not worth the money in any way at all. To make the portion even smaller they put the curry sauce INSIDE the box where more chips could be added. The portion was about 20 chips or so and some of them were not classed as edible.

The guy who is serving me a food I think his name is ushman he offered me a Dipped chicken burger and I've tried that was amazing I really like that. And I will come back again nice customer service highly recommended to others .

Regular attendee of Mr Cod franchises. Overall average burger meal - patties themselves were dry and not hot despite being prepared freshly, however chips were of a good standard, although the portion was a little tight for the price. Service was prompt within 10mins of ordering, however the server was a little unclear in communicating. Atmosphere was difficult to judge with only one other customer present, however the shop space is a little cramped so can imagine it can be quite stuffy in busy periods.

Food is OK need to improve customer service urgently. Minimum Card pay £10 🤔 🙄. I Spend £15 & the guy ask me 0.50P for each source dip. In same Oxford Road I know some shops they give you 1 free souce dip when you even spend £3. Really disappointing No recommend

Food was cooked well and warm great overall 8 out of 10, if you want a 100% genuine, the burgers were cooked and looked tasty but very little flavour, the lettuce was not fresh and was discoloured.
