The best restaurants serving Seafood food in England

Food was cold, staff were very professional and friendly but the food was cold very disappointed

Went in late on Friday 2nd May and picked up a chicken and mushroom pie and small chips. I wasn't told the price and just paid. Unfortunately I was overcharged. The owner has reacted quickly to remedy the situation. Would have given 5* if this hadn't happened.

Hugely disappointing today. Ordered a large cod but received a small, thin fillet. The fish had small flakes rather than what I expect from cod. Hard in parts and tasteless. Used to be a superb place - what’s gone wrong? Was I just unlucky, or is it now poor?

Didn't enjoy the food here at all as two tables near us had dogs with them that didn't stop yapping and barking. Its one thing being dog friendly but other diners who don't want to listen to a constant racket from ill behaved mutts should also be considered. If you are part of the selfish dog brigade who are happy to inflict your hound on other people whether they like it or not then this is the place for you, otherwise I would highly recommend the Swan chippy at the other end of Lord street. Its much better managed and they consider all of their customers

Absolutely delicious fish and chips. They serve it how it is supposed to be here. Gentleman who works there is lovely too.

Delicious hot food, served quickly and gave my little girl a pick and mix with her meal. Lovely place, thank you ❤️

This is a hidden gem away from the tourist hustle and bustle of Whitby. The couple who run it are friendly and helpful and the food very good quality at excellent prices. Most place today you just about get change from £10 for 2 hot drinks but here You get a little change from £5 for a tea and a coffee, both of which are good quality. The breakfasts are a good price, good quality and generous.

Since I moved to Portsmouth, this has been one of my locals, always a welcoming place and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. They have a greaat sense of community and what you don't see in many public houses nowadays,,, a bar billiards table!!

Placed and order and got overcharged as they didn't have one of my items and still charged for it. So I called to cancel and made it near impossible to cancel and said it was my problem not hers. Very very rude and then hung up the phone on me

Really horrible food. Recall being given burnt, dried chips, not edible at all. There was no way of even biting them as they were hard- rocks. When I showed the assistant the chips, she said some customers like them like this. I was seriously shocked 😲 I let them keep the chips and money. Good luck 👍 (I think people are writing reviews of some fish and chip place near the sea on here. This place is in Carshalton and nowhere near the sea :))

Papas always great quality and a reasonable price for the portion sizes

I went into my local chip shop and ordered some food . I had not been there for a while as the chips were not very nice but decided to give it another go . My order was incorrect and I repeated the order to the gent behind the till .The gent / tall man behind the counter become very aggressive shouting and ranting at me telling me he would serve me this time but I would be banned from the shop in future . I told him he had a very bad attitude towards the customers and very bad customer service and then asked for my money back .I also asked why I would be banned? Considering he had got my order incorrectly ,but With no avail .I spoke to the owners wife to tell her about the incident across the road but she stuck up for her husband who said he heard the conversation .The funny thing is he wasn’t in the shop at the time and was on a delivery, so this was a complete lie. I will never go to this shop again or use the corner shop which they own as they also keep overcharging you so watch you coins . This has happened numerous times . I think the man in this shop needs a drug test as he seems like he was on something or dislikes certain people (women) . I have lived here 30 years and never felt so insulted . The previous owners were lovely and very respectful it’s a shame this has gone down hill. I have spoken to other people around the area and they have said this has happened to them too .

worst kebab for a long time 😟🤮 Large mixed was at best a medium, next to no salad… no mayo as asked for just a cheap crappy chili sauce … totally rank, meat was very poor, tasted like been sat in a bain marie for a week! … in the bin!
