Instead of the cod I paid for it was the pangassus fish, greasy and horrid. The chips were basically inedible. I will never use them again

I've had several takeaways ranging from fish n chips to Chinese set meals ,and I can definitely say the fish n chips are really good and the setmeals, chicken balls chicken chow mein, chicken curry egg fried rice and chicken with mushrooms was really worth the money £8.60 for a set meal for one was massive and very tasty..5 stars

Usually cod 'n' chips is very good but on my last visit batter was very soggy. Writing review as emailed the shop but got no reply. Must do 'batter'............errrr.......better next time !!

Lovely customer service but sadly food (Chines) was not freshly made. Over priced for what is reheated food, very disappointing quality. In addition, I appreciate the cost of living crisis but supplementing meat portions with veg isn’t great either.

Absolutely horrible cod and chips. Don't waste your money. Chips are stale and hard. Cod wasn't fresh.

The prices have increased twice in months its ridiculous and the food is 100% reheated ordered yesterday and it was disgusting I always give a tip cause it's not drivers fault but wasted £25 just to fill the bin never again.

Ordered large chips they were stale and refried disgusting and very very small. Paid £2.80 what a waste of money. Won't be supporting their business again!!

We are 100% regulars here. Amazing food, especially if you order just when they open their kitchen up for delivery at 5pm. The stir fried broccoli with garlic is a particular highlight as they've still got some crunch and they're packed with flavour.

Cannot say too much about this place... Have not tried the fish but the Chinese food is more than acceptable. The lady on the front desk works tirelessly and is always polite and approachable

Ordered my food and when it arrived sat to enjoy it and as I took a bite out of my duck roll felt something sharp hit the roof of my mouth and as I pulled it out of the duck roll it was a bone!! My child could of eaten that and choked horrible!!

I've been here few times now and tested out the saveloy and chips was tasty. Then had battered sausage and chips tasty . Today I tried cod and chips tasty again A very large piece of cod and always generous with chips. It is also great value for money. U will be going back here every week now. Thank you for a delicious dinner. The lady at the till was very nice and friendly .

Just had cod and chips by far one of the best fish dinner I've had in ages. Great portions tasted lovely and great price will definitely be on my favourite list. Staff lovely too :)

If you are going to be closed when your supposed to be open according to your web site .please make adjustments on your web site two days running your site says open closing at 14.00 first day closed at 13.30 2nd day closed at 13.00 .not good enough. It's a shame because the food is good. I don't pass this shop very often but I've tried to trust the web site again and to my announce its closed at 12.00 when it states open until 14.00 .It's such a shame because the food is good.

Just had the best Chinese take away of my life! Spot on and very reasonable price so southsea for me from now on when I’m in the area 11/10.

The cod was the worst I have ever had, it looked a big piece but was practically hollow inside, I could only get one large spoonful of fish, no lovely flakes just flutters. The batter was oily and left a horrible taste in my mouth hours after. The chips were dry and hard, bendy as if old and reheated. Did not know that you could mess up a traditional dish this badly. Vile feel ill now.

thought I would try a different takeaway, when I placed order I was told it would be an hour, I made it clear that I wouldn't want it to be any longer or would not want it, after 5 more calls 1hour and 40 minutes later I am still waiting. The delivery man was very cold and quite frankly rude, and to top this the food was extremely below average

Orderd at 7pm still no food at 9pm rung to see where our food was, was told"sorry driver couldn't find your address" even though I've ordered from them for years, disgusting ordered from oysters food arrived 25mins later.

Nice place, not always a lot of customers. It's a local fish and chips place. It's the only local place I go. Nice staff. It could up it's hygiene level from 3. It's really the easiest place to go to. I've only ever seen 3 staff members in there. Why don't they have a website? I also had to add a photo and business hours. Overall good food and efficient service. UPDATE: I ordered "Chips with Tofu and Vegetables" it was nice. (09/09/2016)

Really good chippie and surprisingly good Chinese food too. Service is friendly and they are happy to accommodate my pickyness! Chinese food is flavourful and fresh tasting. Highly recommend.

Really nice staff. Very friendly. Always enjoy the food here and they have generous portions. Always get a pickled egg and gherkin for dessert.

Normally very good, but this time extremely bad. Large chips would not feed a small child, gherkin rotting inside and two hairs found in chips. When I called to confirm chip size, was told that due to increase in potato costs the potion size has been changed and it would be another 30 minutes to deliver more chips. Shame I wasn't told this when I ordered. They have now lost a customer of 25 years.

We are using this takeaway for years. Food is always good. Staff very friendly. Never waited for delivery longer than 30-40 min even on Fridays and Saturdays.

Worst savaloy Eva and smallest large chips

Having long since become the local for fish and chips, I've been here dozens of times over the years. In all that time, the chips have never disappointed and are reasonably priced for the amount you get (£1.90 for a large portion, which could do three people quite easily). It's nice to see that some places, especially in this day and age, have resisted the urge to rock up the prices. So as a local chippie, it's solid; certainly, it seems to be the only one in the area that gets any real business. The Chinese food on offer, however, is a bit harder to recommend. I had always seen the menu for it every time I'd been up there and so finally gave in to my curiosity one night and decided to try it. The roast pork curry was ok, but the sauce was a little stodgy and the chicken satays, despite tasting fine, were dry. The peanut sauce that came with them was also too watery in texture- think of an Asian broth with some peanuts tossed in. It wasn't awful, just a bit disappointing after the experiences we've had here in the past. So to recap: as a chippie, it certainly does its job well. I've used it for years and I don't see anything changing there. For Chinese takeaway, however, you'd probably be better off looking elsewhere.

Has changed hands, was really good but now quite poor. They save the left over chips and warm them through in the evening, a long wait for deliveries
