Taylors in Tonbridge and Malling

I’m always apprehensive when it’s fish and chips and Chinese but I have tried both and can honestly say the food is great fast, fresh, flavorful and well priced

Ordered Chinese from here last night. Was an absolute disgrace to be honest. Not only had to wait an hour and a half for it to be delivered. I ordered chilli squid and got octopus tentacles in stead. Wtf? Really?. The whole lot of the food was mank. £40 down the drain. Never again!!! Mandarin only for me now as their food is always banging.

We have just had a delivery and to say the food was poor was an understatement ! I’ve never had such greasy chips and as for the chow mein,it looks and tastes like it was warmed up from last night ! Very disappointing!!!

The lady that answers the phone is proper Rude...lol

We now use Taylor’s as it’s the best Chip shop local to us. We order the pensioner fish and chips as, at £6.00 for fish and chips, it’s great value. It’s always cooked to order and the portions sizes are perfect. Would recommend

Taylors is a brilliant takeaway, Chinese food and fish & chips. It's even got its very own Chinese Karen lol i love it when she shouts at you if you ask her to repeat herself then she shouts your order back at you lol she's multi tasking all the time and she's a sweetheart really. Food is always good and comes out super fast , it gets very busy so have some patience it's well worth the wait. Prices are average and they do good lunchtime meal deals aswell. I think we are very lucky to have such a great selection of shops in York Parade.

Beautiful Chinese & Beautiful fish & chips & great service!

My recent experience at Taylors, the Chinese takeaway, was marked by extremely poor customer service. One of the employee, a short Asian woman with brown hair and round glasses, displayed rudeness, impatience, and aggression. Her behavior, coupled with apparent racism and an unapologetic attitude, was unacceptable. It is disheartening to encounter such negative interactions when spending hard-earned money. Consider reevaluating her role in customer service or food preparation to maintain the positive reputation of your establishment. I wouldn’t visit this place again due to that woman.

Pleasantly surprised came to post office and decided to get early lunch small cod n chips... Light crispy batter and great chips

Always come here on Tuesdays for lunch with mates and staff very welcoming and fish and chips are nice would recommend

Have used Taylor’s for a while now. The quality of the fish and chips used to be good but standards have slipped lately. Recently the fish is not always cod as stated and the chips taste as though they have cooked once and then reheated. Up your game or start losing customers.

Sorry but the chips are soggy and the batter on the fish is like tissue paper, would really like to see this place up it’s game

Stopped on the way back from football. Clean, super friendly staff, the food was wonderful and they were very BUSY! so that speaks for itself. A great place for both English and Chinese food. If you haven't tried it, you definitely should do it! You won't be disappointed!

Consistently nice fish and chips and good Chinese food in one place

This is the number 1 chip shop & chinese in Tonbridge. We live 15 minutes away so can't get a delivery but we don't mind as it's worth the drive out for great food. The ladies on the counter are always happy and work hard. Try it and you will be surprised on how yummy their chips are + chinese food.

Food took over an hour which from Tonbridge to Hadlow we thought was a long time. It was only luke warm .

I travel 25mins to go to Taylor's. Both the fish and the Chinese is the best for miles around. I wont go anywhere else, its delicious 10/10 I would recommend it 100%

A great mix. The chips are astounding the curry sauce is epic. The Chinese dishes are full tasty and with lots of flavour.

Great range of dishes available. Always had nice tasting food and very reasonable prices. Staff are always excellent and the service is top notch. Looking forward to my next visit.

They do amazing meal deals very generous on portion sizes.

I visited today with my son and got a takeaway. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful which made the visit pleasant. The food was also absolutely lovely. Will be my new go to takeaway!

At the moment frequently visiting family and friends so have popped in a couple of times over the last few months for both fish and Chinese meals. I always go for the Rock as its not sold everywhere and has a different flavour to your normal cod and haddock. Bonus is that it's always cooked to order so you may have to wait but you know its just been cooked. Also had a change and ordered some Chinese. No complaints with this meal either. Freshly and cooked just right. Lots of flavour and enjoyable. Portion sizes are good, not sure if it's cheap or dear for the local area but it is slightly higher than my local area, but then this is the South East where most things are priced higher.

We ordered Egg fried rice! Very simple dish for Chinese people you would think🤔 Was just about edible with No egg hmmm. Special chow mein, well nothing special about it, it had a few leathery slithers of chicken & pork in dry noodles! Prawn balls all soggy & disgusting.. Crispy beef which was like eating my grandads shoelaces eww.. We thought we would give this place one more chance & they blew it.. How anyone can give this gaff more than a star is beyond me! Seems all they care about is your money! Better off leaving your hard earned cash in your pocket..

It's very challenging to run both cuisines but Taylors do very well in my honest opinion fish and chips great Fish tender nice batter and very tasty chips. The Chinese could be better it's OK but not great .

Don't know what it is about Chicken from a Chinese but it always seems suspect and this was no exception, Chicken Satay it was very rubbery with an odd texture

Chips were anemic, not even one slightly crispy chip in a whole portion. Spam fritter was absolutely swimming in oil as it only had a wafer thin layer of batter. Curry sauce was OK though

We always get our fish & chips from here, never disappointed. Their Chinese food is also excellent.

It is very seldom that I right a review like this, but our one and only experience of chinese take-away from Tyalor's is memorable for all the wrong reasons. The "crispy duck" certainly was crispy - because it had been burned to the point where it was black! My crispy beef was a stuck together, congealed mass with some dreadful gloopy sweet sauce over it and my wife's chicken with cash nuts was equally inedible. We tossed it all in the bin. £30.00 wasted but a lesson learned. .

Avoid it, for a stupid reason I have given the fish and chips here several chances and all have been terrible but tonight trumped it. A disgusting bit of fish full of bones with grease streaming out of the paper it was wrapped in. Chips are just as disgusting and full of grease. I recommend everyone travels a bit further to Martin Hardie Way

I have gluten and dairy intolerances and phoned to order takeaway and as stated on the online menu stated my food Torrance’s to ask for guidance from the staff who answered the phone. It seems it is impossible to cater for me and create any meal that is gluten free from there menu. The staff weren’t even interested in trying to help.

I agree with the previous reviewer ref the front of shop server,no please ,no thankyou and moody.she needs some customer facing training,otherwise fish and chips ok but not even close to the East Peckham fish and chip shop .

Oh to the gods in heaven and hell!!!!! Finally! Chinese take out from my favourite delivery. TAYLORS .... I LOVE YOU!!!!! The food was as brilliant as ever. So scrumpy.. .(yes I'm on a Chinese high) In all honesty, thank you to the staff of Taylors for keeping the standards. Hats off ladies and gentlemen

We tried to order food from Taylor’s with my gluten intolerance and was told that “ everything has gluten in it” and were unwilling to cook dishes to accommodate my needs.

Easy access, and quick service.

Just put in an order. Rang back as price seemed wrong. I'm just inside Plaxtol Kent 3.4 miles away and they wanted to charge £5 for delivery. £5 ridiculous they have lost another customer now as food is hit and miss but on odd occasion it was worth a gamble as hardly any takeaways here. Will not ever be ordering again however.

Chips nerd bit more cooking time

I have no idea why this place has some poor reviews on trip advisor . The Fish and Chips are awesome here. This place is over 30 minutes from where I live and it’s worth the drive. I always over order the chips and fry up the leftover the following day for the most amazing fries. That said I am not a fan of the pancake roll here, too much five spice for my pallet.

Worst Chinese. Chow mien had hardly any meat, and whatever was in there was the tiniest pieces. Disappointed. Avoid and spend money at mandarin, or east peckham

Chinese order wrong egg fried rice instead of beef fried rice could not be bothered to go back to shop to sort besides the rest of the food would be ruined

Worst cod ever that I ever had not even fit for a cat or a dog to eat and it was cold anyway and the texture was like eating cotton wool if I could give it a 0 Star I would have as a 1 star rating is to generous

Portions good and freshly cooked

Went at 6:15pm on a Sunday evening. No fish ready at all so waited 20 mins. When I asked when the food will be ready I was met with surliness from the staff ... who then dished out smaller chip portions as my reward. I would recommend going elsewhere as this place is useless.

Friendly polite staff. Waiting for your order is well worth it. Always steaming hot and fresh.

They know me here. It's usually for a portion of chips, which is freshly cooked and wonderfully soft and hot. Sometimes it's for their dry barbecue spare ribs, which are succulent and very tasty, or I succumb to one of their house special chop suey. Nice people, good service, and openbfairly late too.

Been a loyal customer for roughly 4 years but stopped going as quality was sub-par, recently returned and thoroughly enjoyed! Time after that ordered the 1/4 chicken, brought it home and it was undercooked which with chicken, generally isn’t a good thing. Complained and had it again a few weeks later to see if there had been an improvement, undercooked again, had to blast it in the oven, frankly disappointed as usually offers good quality food. :(

Usually Taylor's has been great - good solid fish and chips but tonite was very poor. The cod tasted odd, wasn't firm and the batter soggy. The chips again were soggy and floury. Feels like they have cut back on quality and wouldn't rush back.

Just had a delivery missed off part of order rang to complain said it would be with you soon as but guess wot no show wouldn't recommend there food could do better at home

Just had the worse piece of cod ever - certainly wasn’t fresh went straight in the bin!

Take away food both Chinese and fish and chips is fine - but every so often, despite the fact we have been ordering for years from them, we have to argue with them because depending who is taking the order, they try and charge £5 for delivery and claim they have always charged that.........we are 5 minutes down the road and our order is always at least £30......getting bored with the hassle

En una visita a mi ciudad natal y necesitaba algo para comer y ya a la vuelta de la esquina a la antigua granja, probarlo. Tenían Rock en el menú, lo que siempre es una agradable sorpresa. Orden regular Rock y patatas fritas. . . . £5. 20 para el pescado y £1. 90 para patatas fritas, así no es barato para llevar especialmente cuando puedes conseguir esto y una pinta por aproximadamente el mismo precio en el centro de la ciudad. El pescado era sabroso y bien preparado y las patatas fritas estaban bien. Nada especial y caro así que sólo podía dar 3 estrellas.

Fish and Chips are always really good

The fish and chips are great, especially the chips. Fish could do with a thinner batter but it was still good and sizeable. Yum.

Ordered food only for it to be delivered at least an hour later when told it would be between 15-20 minutes. By this time the food had gone cold and chewy! For the prices they charge you'd think they'd get it here whilst it's still warm😡

Today I ordered 1 medium chips, 1 half chips, chicken nuggets and a gerkin. I asked for onion binder but when I got home I released there wasn't any at all! My half chips were so hard I could taste the raw potatoe my medium chips were so greasy they slipped out my fingers and my gerkin was soft and soggy! My chicken nuggets were pink in the middle it's digesting! Never eating from you again and if I suffer food poisoning then I will take it further to the courts
