Pound Fish Bar in Tonbridge and Malling

Awful fish and chips, soggy batter, hardly any actual fish in the batter and tasteless chips. Terrible value for money. Disappointed and won’t return.

I've been visiting this fish and chip shop for the last 30 years. Never had a bad meal, excellent service, lovely people, keep it up.

Well known in the area for the best fish and chips - see the queue every Friday. My favorite the traditional cod and chips with a pickled onion.

I came here because our local chippy was closed but was very disappointed. The chips were soggy and bland and the fish was so oily it stuck to the paper. I certainly won't be visiting again.

Really good fish and chip shop. After a long day out with family we stopped by and had one of the best cod and chips around this area! Keep up the good work!

Ordered, as I do quite often for new years, and told it was a 60 minute wait.....over an hour later, still no delivery so ordered a domino’s. No response when I called (over 50 attempts) to try and cancel the order..... Really disappointing

The Cod, Haddock and chips are fantastic. By far the best away from the coast. You may have to wait a little while (always busy as it is popular) and it is cash only unless you buy in the Chinese/Thai next door.

Had a trip out and had to stop at various places and came across this Fish Bar at lunchtime. We both had cod and chips to take away and I kid you not, these were the best fish and chips I've had in YEARS!!!! Next time I'm anywhere near this place again I shall make a point of stopping, give it a try you will not be disappointed.

Clean and friendly, good portions of fish and chips.The pound fish and chips shop has also got a Chinese takeaway attached so fantastic range of top quality meals on offer, they also do delivery which is ideal if you can’t drive. Private parking to rear. superb quality

I was absolutely digusted to find prawns in my VEGETARIAN pad thai. I have been vegetarian for many years, but also have a very slight intolerance to shell fish. It really didn't seem to matter to the guy on the end of the phone who sent another oe!!! Last thing I was going to do was eat it!!! Finding meat in a vegetarian meal would have been unthinkable, but how serious could thi shellfish have been! Will NOT use this place again!

I stopped coming here months ago due to how unwelcome these people that served me made me feel. They looked at me as if I was an inconvenience and the way they spoke to me was just as poor. I would have thought they would treat their customers with a bit of respect as they are making a living out of the likes of us people buying from them! I understand they get very busy and are under pressure at times, but that’s not a customers fault or problem. I was appalled!

Tempura batter on beautiful fresh fish, very reasonable price. The chips are to die for!! Would recommend it to anyone. Good idea to order first as it becomes very buy whenever open. Friendly people.

Joined with the Chinese next door you get a mix of staff who can be hard to understand. The food is very slow and you have to wait up to 15 mins sometimes but a good place to stop for dinner. Wouldn't say it was great.

Friday evening so very busy but order was taken quickly and told 10/15 minute wait. Did get order muddled but soon rectified. Delicious cod and chips but those who had sausage and chips thought expensive and should be jumbo sausage for the price. Would order from here again and very friendly service.

Last minute decision to have fish and chips with the mother-in-law, popped in Friday early evening, straight to the counter, made my order, then realised they don't take cash, thankfully there is a cash machine outside the co-op 2 minutes along the road. When I got back a queue had appeared from no-where, however they hadn't forgotten about my order - I paid, waited another couple of minutes and was handed a big bag of F&C;.

The best Fish and Chips that we have had for a very long time. Both fish and chips were not dripping in fat. Very tasty.

Hemos usado este chips en varias ocasiones en el pasado, pero no tienen un rato como nos trasladamos fuera de la zona. Nos invitaron a los amigos por la noche y me dijo que me gustaría recoger el pescado y patatas fritas en el camino de una 'buena' chips sabía.

The fish batter is not the best chip are nice but i`ve had worse fish and chips from a small village shop as it`s a Chinese two but the ribs are very nice without their source

We do go go here every now and again as its at the end of the road. Bells in paddock wood is better and there are several better places in Tonbridge but ok if you need something quick.

Great fish and chips with large portions. Ask for fish to be cooked while you wait. Always busy with a queue.

This is connected to a chinese takeaway, sometimes not a great thing, however this one is different! - it does very good fish and chips - never too greasy! Staff are very friendly and service is quick. During the week/off peak they run a very small fryer instead of the big ones - so your fish is always cooked fresh to order.

I have tried many different fish and chip shops in my life, but I can undoubtedly say this is the best one I've visited. I am now a regular customer and often travel quite far to have the fish and chips. If you want to try something a bit different, try the chili chips from the Chinese next door!

There is nothing special about the Pound Fish Bar in East Peckham. The staff including the owner are aloof, but at least the fish is fresh, straight from the freezer. This quote came direct from the owner when I visited this emporium one evening.

Tried this chippie out recently and they do a nice fish and chips. Staff were friendly and the food was quick.

I drive past 2 other perfectly respectable chippies to get here! Lovely owners, good choice, chips just as I like them, and the fish is good. Very busy at times which is great because food has not been hanging around for long. Joined to the chinese next door (same owners) which is ideal when my son wants noodles and I want chips........

Pound Fish Bar is a takeaway not a sit down restaurant. It is a 2 shop unit one selling just divine fried fish with chips that are golden, non fatty and oh so tasty. It would appear to be a family run take away with the staff being of Far Eastern origin.The second shop unit cook, whilst you watch them Oriental dishes from for example Malaysia, Thailand and Japan, with up to four chefs cooking at the same time. Their dishes are outstanding and their prices very reasonable. We live in a village 3 miles away with our own compliment of take-aways preparing these foods but without fail we drive the distance knowing that the food at The Pound Fish (or next door at their Oriental Gourmet Kitchen) is A1 and far superior to our local take-aways.Do not hesitate, try them and you will not be disappointed. If you are relatively local once experienced you will not go any where else.....I GUARANTEE A word of warning, they are extremely busy Friday early evening.

Good fish and chips prompt service and very clean the Chinese showing us how to make fish and chips. They shut a bit early is my only gripe although the Chinese take away which is part of the same building stays open later but its not great?

This has the best reputation in the area and worth a short drive to get something tasty and good value! Looking forward to our next take-away.

I live in Tonbridge, but have found that the Pound Fish Bar (in East Peckham) is undoubtedly the best in the area for quality and value. The fish is always fresh and well-cooked, the chips tasty,and excellent. The staff are friendly. It is well-worth the visit from Tonbridge, especially if you have the fish fresh cooked, so as to preserve heat and freshness..

Regularly drive past other fish and chip shops to come to the Pound. Don't expect to be blown away, it's only a chip shop, but a good one operated by nice people, and certainly worth a drive to get to.
