They fish was famous but its closed down I don't know why

Use this chippy quite often & can't fault the food & Service, there Irish curry is to die for

A wonderful place to get tea when you're in a rush to get something quick clean and tidy staff polite 😊

The fish was beautiful but I personally didn't like the chips, or the price. £7.50, for fish n chips.

Wow! I can honestly say these are the best fish & chips I've ever had. The fish is white (not grey), chunky and delicious, and the batter is light, crispy and golden. Chips are really good too, no soggy items here! This was my second visit, second because I didn't want to write a review until I knew the first the wasn't a one off, it wasn't. It's consistently good here. I travel c. 10 miles for these, and I will be back.

From the moment I walked in I was greeted with 5* service. The ladies working were so lovely and friendly and extremely helpful. The food was cooked fresh and wow it was amazing. The best fish cake I've had in a very long time. The batter was so crispy, perfectly cooked. This will definitely be my new regular chippy. Many thanks for your lovely service and food ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Undercooked slimy fish, undercooked chips on 2 separate occasions… First time I thought it was a one off but the second it was clearly an inexperienced fryer… on both occasions it was asked that the fish was to be well done as well… Disgusting!

Very friendly and helpful. Food freshly cooked. Even got a cup of free tea as I waited. Top marks!

Ordered food for around £30 2 chip butties, 2 regular chips which only just covered the bottom, two extremely small kids fish meals and sauces which quite frankly have probably been there for a few days. Even my kids refused to eat it because of how filthy it tasted (Justeat) If you want decent portions please go elsewhere.

I honestly can’t even give this place 1 star. Fish butty with hardly any chips x 2 and a kids meal and was charged £19 as they forgot the third order altogether. The chips where horrendous and cooked in dirty oil I can only assume. The curry sauce unfortunately for me I layered in my fish and turned out to be the dirtiest curry sauce I had ever tasted to the point I almost threw up. The full order went straight in the bin. Visited 21/12/21 approx 11:40. I also picked up on the ladies dirty habits of licking her fingers while separating papers and bags and then handling food. People you need to miss this place has definitely nose dived. If I didn’t live so far away I would have taken all the food back and demanded a full refund. 🤮🤮🤮🤢🤢🤢

I visited the restaurant on 09.12.2012, Disappointed at the size of the fish and chips. We bought a jumbo fish a regular fish and chips and a extra fish. I was shocked to see how poorly battered the fish was still frozen at the end worst of all the chips were freezing cold and tasted of oil like they'd be sat there a long while.... I will certainly not be returning to this place after being recommended from a good friend.. How poor the customer service is no personality more interested in talking to each other!! No masks were worn and no hair nets. I am not surprised the food was cold as the place was stone cold as soon as you walked through the door.

Used to be nice from here but called in the other night and charged £5 for 2 excessively small portions or undercooked chips I think greed has overcome the owner and I'll never set foot in there again and I'll tell others to go elsewhere too

I've been using this Fish and Chip shop for a long time havibg lived local for so long and there had been a marked decrease in quality The fish is very nice and the Special is enormous and well worth the extra. The batter is crispy and tasty. Cakes are average and a little tasteless. The chips have never been great, they are a little tasteless but you used to get plenty. But recently they have started serving the meal in a box which means you're lucky to get a single fill scoop of chips. Much nicer ones nearby and wouldn't recommend anymore.

Disappointed at the portion of the fish and chips. We brought a jumbo, a regular fish and chips and an extra fish. I was shocked to see thin fish a few chips barely not enough for one person, taste wasn't nothing special I will not be going back at all!!

Every time I have visited the fish has been cooked fresh and the chips are great. No need to go further afield to get fish and chips

Waiting time was a bit long and would've been good if the server had mentioned it was gonna be 10-15 mins at the point of ordering. Food was okay but prices pretty prohibitive...sausage and chips + fish and chips and a bottle of pop over £11.

Disappointing! Bought chips on a bread cake for lunch and they were cold and tasted of oil. I only live around the corner and can’t believe how cold the chips were. Plus can taste the oil they are cooked in. A shame because I’ve had nice food from here before. The food went in the bin! It’s put me off using this place again. Thank you for your reply. My son came into the chippy and there was no one else in and he didn’t have to wait for the food. The chips were already there. I have the correct chippy because I’m down the road from you in Harrogate Road.

Called in from work,spent £15.00 , I live 2 minutes away and they were flat cold, the chips were like they had been frozen, never eat there again

Absolutely disgusting. Was right looking forward to having chips scallop butty and curry sauce and was absolutely DISSAPPOINTED! The fish shop has gone DOWNHILL since it has gotten new owners! Chips are ALWAYS HARD! This is not the first time my chips have been hard from here and my scallop was raw in the middle! And the batter wasn’t even fresh! Appalling! Always used to come here all the time growing up now it’s horrible WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

We went in about 10 mins before closing time. We hadn’t realised the closing time before we went in. I wanted a steak and kidney pie and what an attitude I got because it was close to closing time. I’d have probably chose something different had I had a friendly perception so as not to keep them after closing time. I certainly won’t be going back again. In the end we went to Killing Hall fishery. I’d highly recommended for friendly staff and friendly prices!

Nice little chip shop visited for the first time, usually a regular at 'Mother Hubbard's' but was driving past so thought I'd give it a go. The prices here are alot more reasonable than most, reflected slightly in the portion sizes BUT the fish and chips are good and the staff are really friendly too.

The best service I've ever experienced, period. Food was good, but service was infinitely better. Please keep it up

Again used Google to find a fish and chip shop near to our B&B, this one came up near top and being within walking distance we went Good size portions, but getting back to our room we unwrapped the paper. It was covered in grease, so bad that the batter was all stuck to it was ok but nothing great and not as good as reviews are saying., just shows can't always go by the reviews

Directly opposite my grans. They used to deliver if they called on the phone. The fish is very nice and I like the chips although some of my family don't think they are great. Does those bubblegum flavour fizzy pops and has a varied menu.

Every time, without exception that we have had food from here it's been fantastic. The portions are always on the large size so plenty to eat. The prices are very reasonable & there are usually offers on which are worth getting, especially if you like fish. After you have ordered you never have to wait long for your food to be served & wrapped. We only ever go here for our fish & chips as they are second to none.

Great local Fish & Chips. Great range of products. Always clean. Staff always pleasant. Displays put up through the year, Christmas,. Halloween etc.

Lovely shop I came in with my children over Christmas to find it was decorated and all lit up for the children they loved it. The food was lovely and the staff were so helpful. Recommended!
