Been coming for over 15 years and it’s always been good food and service.

Great service foods fresh and on point always!

I rarely criticise local businesses because I say support them but I bought a fishcake that was tough as old boots from this place and ,furthermore, it was burnt on one side cos it was fried that many times...masala fish was equally horrendous with just red powder in the batter..only thing good was the chutney in small pots...

I wish i could give a minus they have no respect for womens. The guy near till with big long beard age 50 to 60 has no respect for customers. He passes sarcastic comments laughs on your face if you complain about any thing. So i went in today after a year as last time when i ordered chicken grill it had chicken feathers on it and they grilled it with them. I asked do you still do grilled chicken and he said yes. So i said i would like to place order. But please make sure to give me piece with no chicken hair on it, as last time i felt sick i couldn't eat it... and this is me humble talking no attitude. He just comes out sarcastically with God knows what running through his mind,so annoyed and making fun of me what i said and not accepting any of what i said. LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE . LACK OF RESPECT FOR WOMENS (i wonder what he behave likes with his wife and family poor them) Bare in mind this is jumma day and he is 50 to 60 year old!!!!! So when i seen his behaviour i said... ok i leave it then... he loudly comes out with BISMILLAH.... NOW I KNOW WHY THIS SHOP HAS NOT CUSTOMERS AND IS EMPTY MOSTLY. There was another guy with specials on (he still tried and said yeah some times it happens etc, he wasnt bad... like he was ming of blending the situation) But this beard guy has no shame, no respect and NO CUSTOMER SERVICE UNCLE WAKE UP.... CUSTOMER IS BUSSINESS!!!

I was disgusted at their service and food quality to say the least. I went into store ordered 3 Fish & Chips. The lad placed 3 portions of appalling small fish with batter covering it so much to disguise the size of it, which was not even enough for my daughter. I called on the phone to speak to the manager who shamefully did not apologize, and placed the blame on another staff member. He told me if I didn't like the food to leave and not come back. I demanded they refund or and provide me another replacement to which they declined and laughed. Horrible to say I have been buying from here for many years. I hope you have some shame to serve in this fraudulent manner!!

It's been a couple of years but because I dared not go back to Duckworth Lane Mother Hubbard's after my 30 minute wait last time I thought I'd try Lister Fisheries again after a couple of years. At £9.50 they weren't much cheaper than MH and on first inspection they did exactly what put me off about them in the 1st place. Small fish and a large portion of chips to make it look like value for money. Food itself was good. Though the fish appeared to have been over cooked it was actually still meaty and 'slimy'. The batter has the nice 'old school' taste that MH just can't replicate and the chips were a league ahead of those dry potatoes MH churn out. Not VFM considering the size of the fish but a better tasting product than the usual Mother Hubbard's. I'd dare not try their curry sauce or mushy peas though.

The best fish and chips in town

I have been coming to Listers Fisheries since I started driving and now I bring my wife and kids too. I am talking about a good 25 years. I drive 9 miles to come here and that's saying summat. The portion size is big whether you get Fish & Chips or Donner Meat & Chips, two of my go to's. The price is reasonable for the portion. I highly recommend them. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

Absolutely appauling. I walked in and ordered my food. Which was fish and chips and I saw him drop the fish on the floor and throw it back in the frier. I then demanded to speak to the manager who came out in stained speedos who then proceeded to throw rotten chips at my mum. He told me if I didn't like the food to leave and not come back. I demanded a refund for what I payed but he told me he'd give me free fish. And it was the fish off the floor.

Ordered food... It was all cold Fried chicken cold hard and dry Donner bland and cold

Cold food ordered half pound cheeseburger wich was ice cold asked to make fresh reply I got was just made it fresh when they had already made it and placed in food warmer with more ready made should be cooked fresh had to bin it £4.50 waste of money disgusting food avoid this place should at least get warm food they just care about taking your money

Green scrap potatoes sold as chips. No taste at all. Fish full of oil and chips as like left overs. Donner meat dry and hard. Waste of money. Not again

This shop brings back a lot of childhood memories. Their chips have a unique and distinct flavour not found anywhere else. One complain I have is that they keep raising the prices but lowering the portion sizes. I keep remembering the days I used to get boxes of chicken and chips for £1 each. Prices and portion sizes should improve as yesterday I spent over £3 for a large portion of chips which was only 1-2 spatulas. Before they used to a absolutely pack it now they're doing a lot of cutbacks and I dont see a point in coming here anymore. Improvement needs to be made. If your going to increase the price at least commit to making decent portion sizes. You pay for large you get a small. It's a rip off

Bought fish and chips and donner meat the other day the fish and chips were okay but the donner was so dry that I had to throw it away what a waste of money Also the prices are very high Won't be coming back to this place again

Food is semi-decent but the owner is very rude and always has an attitude. Asked for separate salad and was given a small tray of just onions. When I went back to complain he told me they only do onions in the salad which was clearly a lie as I could see the rest of the salad in the back. He’s not a very nice chap that’s all I can say.

Lister fisheries standard of food has really gone downhill. The fish is so bland you can hardly taste it and you always find a handful of chips that are dried out. I'd only go there as a last resort.

Got 2 masala fish Nan . Portion was inadequately small charged me £17 4 hours after eating I have got abdominal pains . The Nan was cold and rock hard . The staff do not have any charisma or personality. Service rubbish and food rubbish. Total rubbish take away . Rip off price and substandard food not fit for human consumption

IF YOU’RE LOCAL AROUND THE BD9 AREA DEFFO TRY THESE GUYS OUT… ands here’s why… Was feeling fish bites & chips, came across this chippy thought I’d give it a shot. Looked at the menu and could find “fish bites”, so I decided to ask the staff, one of the staff member (Qadir) came to the rescue, his actual words were… “ it’s not on the menu, but I’ll happily make it for you” (talk about customer service at its best😊). The fish bites and chips were banging too 😋😋😋

Good portions and excellent value as well as welcoming staff

Stopped by at this place on my way home from work. Ordered a large fish & chips and masala fish on naan. The prices are extremely high and customer service is appaling. The fish was undercooked and chips were rock hard. Masala fish was overcooked and naan was stale and tasted few days old. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY!!! avoid at all costs. Rather go next door to lilycroft who's prices are decent. Food is 10/10 and staff treat you with respect unlike these guys who only see your money.
