Delivery good Food not so good - soggy batter again even though asked or make sure crispy this time in notes which clearly was not read

Ordered a few times recently and have been very happy with the food. Will be ordering again. :)

Fast delivery, food still hot, however missing a tea cake and bag of scraps!

Been going for years and normally never a problem until the last year they’ve become miserly with their chips portions with fish. £8 for downsized fish is fair enough but chips, cmon guys fix it

what arrived tastes really good, super crispy fish but they forgot my chips, which is really disappointing, not proper fish and chips without the chips

Decided to drop in for fish and chips into the snug restaurant as we used to go there a few years back and were in the area again. How disappointing! As you enter there's a strong smell of kitchen fish and chips and fat cooking. Yes I know it's a fish and chip shop but disn't expect the snug to smell so strongly. The menu is as basic as it comes! No frills for sure. Fish and chips, sausage and chips, scampi and chips etc. NO different sizes of fish or offers of 2 courses etc. After being seated we were quickly asked for our orders. We wanted a vegaetarian lasagna but the waitress said they had none. So we asked what could they offer. Chips! A few minutes lady they said it was available. When we attempted to order drinks they only had tea and coffee and fizzy drinks. No still juice at all so sadly resorted to water for one person. We were in the restaurant and not buying from the chippy front! When the food came it was basic. So salad by the scampi, no beans with the sausage etc. I guess they were extras on the no frills menu! People having the fish and chips were happy and said it was hot and tasty. Jumbo sausage was too. The scampi was a very small portion and the lasagna was very poor in flavour and ingredients. Do not order! One toilet available but smelt inside of babies nappies. Service from staff was poor. No interaction from one waitress. Price was relected in what we got I suppose, but I would gladly pay more and get better! Would not recommend and we will not be returning. What a shame how it has changed over the years.

the fish and chips are peas were really lovely and there was so much to eat we could have had guests as well. it was lovely cooked and very tasty and very hot when it arrived, thank you and we'll be ordering again.

food was great except the batter was over cooked but the fish was perfect other than that also by time it got here it was cold. but still ate it after a little warming up in the oven.

Average for the price and terrible chips! We were served with overcooked chips! sorry chip ends and bits. The fish did a good job of covering the chips in the tray .Shame that they cannot even get the basics right.

Tried them all within a 10mile radius these are definitely the best at every level..... Service. Quality. Quantity. Value for money. Also very welcoming and nothing seems too much trouble for the staff. ..........5 stars all the way!...........

Chips are stale, mushy peas were not mushy peas! Literally garden peas..

Apart from been 30 minutes late ! the fish was ok although a biand the chips were of a decent portion , where I mark this down is the joke of a fish cake it was like fish jerky , so bad I could not even feed it to my dog after two bites of my fish cake in a bun the rest was inedible, over cooked dried out and as hard as a tac , has to rate as THE worst fish cake I’ve ever had , been new to the area I was looking for a decent chip shop , this is not the one and I won’t ever order from them again

Terrible ordered fish and chip, and a scone. Driver shown driving past my house, didn’t stop just turned around and drove off again. When I phoned the restaurant said not my problem contact JustEat. Totally unacceptable will never us this restaurant again.

Love this restaurant, always left five star reviews. Won’t be going again, ordered fish and chips and a scone via Just Eat. Driver shown outside but just drove past and ticked delivered. When I rung the restaurant, “not our problem take it up with just eat”. Well you have now lost a loyal customer that won’t be setting foot in your place again.

Welcoming friendly and helpful staff, the fish and chips were hot and absolutely delicious , freshly cooked. Very clean and very reasonable priced. Well def return soon. Thank you so much

Food arrived covered in oil to the point where it was all I could taste even after using salt and vinegar, the chips also arrived undercooked and soggy.

Our go-to for local fish and chips, you can be waiting for a while because it’s cooked fresh, would be nice for some kind of bench/seating near the counter while waiting, staff always friendly and food always consistent

A bit late but nevertheless. I bought 2X special and chips (scraps aswell) yesterday evening. Lovely succulent Fish and chips cooked well. I've purchased Fish & chips over the years, and would always rate them very high. Portions are very generous indeed!! *4.5/5 😊😊😊

Small order of only chips and gravy, Simply asked if I would like salt and vinegar, to which I replied kindly I will let you know when it’s ready, the lady made me repeat myself three times, to which she then snapped at me. Saying I was only asking, to which I replied I am on the phone trying to find out hence I said I will let you know and serve someone else. Food is now ready I asked politely for salt vinegar to the lady straight up refused to salt and vinegar and told me do it myself on the restaurant tables. Food cannot complain. service absolutely shocking, poor hospitality service and overall off-putting to say the least.

Lovely good but kind of let down by the lack of actual cutlery, wooden knives and forks are horrible to eat with. I understand the reasoning behind them but not pleasant to eat with at all.

Ordered at 30 pounds order at 10 to 4pm and they told me just eat machine wasn't working kept me waiting till 5.35pm the fish and battered sausage came with burnt skin on had no taste felt like I was eating plastic fish... The chips was wayyyy under done for my liking the only good thing about this order was the bag of scraps sorry to dissappoint but I will not be ordering again anytime soon sorry :(

The fish was really good and so were the chips. But the mushy peas could have been cooked a bit more. But all in all delicious food.

So the delivery comes in and says no cheese on the chips we have to ring and tell? What difference is it if it’s stated in the notes? Where’s my tissues, what even was the point of me putting in the notes? Or better yet you could rang me and said said about cheese, it’s not trivial it’s the principle! Shocking!

I'm sure the food was lovely. But it didn't arrive. Just eat marked the order as delivered and vanished without a trace.

My wife and I made a rare visit to Keighley last week and we called here for a fish each for lunch,the fish was a good size with lovely crisp batter, one of the best ever.

Spent 60 quid and it was not nice at all. Fish was dry, chips looked like they were days old and the peas were the worst peas iv ever had

Uses vegetable oil, which is great. Huge portions, decent priced, short queue, and really really tasty fish and chips. The large carpark is a nice touch too.

Fish is absolutely amazing and so are portion sizes! But the chips are wet, soggy and undercooked……. All the sauces are lovely that’s my only complaint

We ordered scone and chips with gravy and a scallop butty to takeaway it was Absolutely disgusting the scallops where all batter and burnt and full of grease so made the teacake greasy the scone was burnt and hard to cut through also had a very funny taste and the chips where pale soggy and greasy the only thing worth eating was the gravy shame it was spoilt by the food. all the scallop butty was thrown away once first bite was taken and half of the scone and chips won’t be going again especially at the prices they charge

Tried 3 different take aways who all cancelled on me.i had tried to order at 7pm and finally got this restaurant to deliver after I rang them, originally they wanted me to meet them half way.i said I couldn't so they eventually delivered after they had closed shop and brought round cold leftover fish and chips

Food was hot, chips and curry sauce lovely, fish was good but quite greasy.

On my first visit I asked if the chips were gluten free. The young girl said they couldn’t ensure they were, but on asking the other member of staff she said she could wash the utensils and he said the vinegar was gluten free. I went for a few visits and sat in after that, and took some home. All was fine, but as I’m coeliac I still mentioned it every time. On my last visit it was odd as with different staff I was told none of the food could be gluten free, the chips had always been cooked with the sausages in batter and the vinegar wasn’t gluten free either! It was like being in a science fiction film where no one knew what you were on about! Can someone clarify the answer for me? I’m wondering if the last assistant was confusing me with a vegan customer as it all got very muddled! I liked the chips and all of the reviews say gf, so has something changed as everyone seems to think it’s never catered for coeliacs?

Food is very good, but the customer service is terrible. Yesterday I ordered steamed fish as I am gluten free, and when this order was relayed to a member of the serving staff she swore very loudly so that I heard her. "You must be ******* joking!" She was stood at the counter when she said it, so clearly wanted me to hear. I think this is an appalling way to treat people and I won't be returning. I am a local person and will not be recommending this fish and chip shop to anyone.

First visit for a few months for takeaway fish and chips. Chips were perfect and the fish was big with crisp batter and moist white flesh. Price was £7:90 a bit dearer than most in the area but still good value for the size of the fish and the quantity of chips.

Customer service more battered than the fish. Peas looked like watered down snot. As a franchise, I would expect this branch to provide the same food as the flagship branch in Bradford, as all other branches do. When questioned, I was advised this branch is nothing to do with the other Mother Hubbard's, and that they don't need to follow their rules. Also, the lady with the glasses who served us behaved like she'd been slapped by a wet fish. If you don't want to work, then don't Wouldn't visit again. -5 stars.

We had a lunch deal for two this Sunday , I cannot praise this restaurant enough. Starting with the service… efficient, friendly, polite staff. The portion size was more than generous. The fish was fresh, flaky and batter was very light and crispy. Just the right amount of chips. We were pleasantly surprised when we were also offered a full menu of homemade desserts we were really full but took away some sticky toddy pudding home. It was amazing. We were not disappointed, light and indulgent, with little bits of dates in it! Such a pleasant meal which lifted up our Sunday. It just proves that a restaurant can be far from posh and expensive yet still be perfect in every way. Thank you so much to the owners and stuff who really care! We decided to come more often to support our local business. Because it is definitely worth supporting. Thank you for a nice meal.
