Coming from France to visit Kent we stayed in Herne Bay, our host recommended Fish and Chips from Britannia. We were not disappointed! The boss and his wife are very friendly and welcoming. The fish is fresh and very well prepared. The portions are generous. We enjoyed ourselves several times! Thankās my friend!

This restaurant is not to be missed! From the warm welcome on arrival and throughout the whole experience the team made us feel very welcome, the service was truly excellent in lovely relaxed surroundings with a view of the estuary. An excellent menu, predominantly seafood with other options one salivates, it's difficult to chose what to go for. Supported by a great wine list the experience was faultless. Our third visit this year it certainly will not be our last.

Have come here many times over the last 10 years, always in the October half term, and tonight was the first time I was disappointed. Service was very slow, took 25 minutes for someone to take our order and that only happened because we asked the waiter to take it. It took another 25 minutes for the food to come out, which I don't think is too bad. I thought the food was good enough but not as good as it used to be.

Iāve waited 6 weeks to write this review. Itās considered because I know Hospitality has been difficult since Covid. We went to this restaurant to celebrate our 30th anniversary - my partner had chosen it over other restaurants near us in Dorset. It was a fabulous stormy day with great views from the dining room. We were welcomed and given a perfect table - āstickyā - but never mind itās a big day! Had a lovely glass of English sparkling and then our starters arrived. Mine had congealed food on it, clearly left over from a previous service. The server did a double take too but decided to ignore itā¦and so did I. (I know that, at this point I should have said something but I just didnāt want to ruin our meal. And, by the way, I donāt think it should be up to the customer to complain, the staff should apologise and replace immediately.) We ordered another glass of wine which just didnāt turn up until we asked again at least 20 mins later. Small things are now accumulating... This is how an expensive meal goes from poor to pitiful. Our mains came (we didnāt mind that it was very slow - it was a Sunday and we were there to enjoy the moment). The additional vegetables were just rock hard. My fish had some unrecognisable āinnardsā - not roe. We had fully intended to stay for pudding, coffee, dessert wine etc etc but we just looked at each other (30 years of dining out at great restaurants together) and decided to call it a day. We were so deflatedā¦ So disappointing. To the restaurant: please take notice of our comments. We want lovely restaurants to go to in Dorset - think about what youāre being told in good faith and up your game.

The most fantastic dining experience. The food was exquisite, beautifully presented and served with care. Luca who served us knew the tiniest details about each dish and took care to explain what he was presenting. I have never met a sommelier like Stephan before. His knowledge of wines was second to none and he expertly guided us to a wine I wouldnāt have normally chosen - and boy was it good. The whole team at the restaurant were excellent and we canāt wait to go back. Thank you!

Missed out chips from the last 4 orders, promising each time it would never happen again. I don't give bad reviews lightly, but you can't just deliver half the food the customer pays for and say you'll fix it next time. No refund offered, no offer to deliver missed items, just "vouchers for next time". If I could give zero stars, I would.
