Best Chinese takeaway in Bristol

Great food and good opening hours..

My friend had food from Hing kee lastnight she ate some of her spring roll to realise it was off and smelt funny! Today she is extremely poorly with food poisoning... since it changed hands the hygiene and quality has gone downhill. Will strongly recommend to not buy food from here.

Best Chinese in Bristol in my opinion. Always fresh and delicious food.

I ordered chicken fried rice from here and it was very tasty, I also recently ordered a beef chowmein from here too, Let me tell you... They do not disappoint! Really yummy food! :)

Place looks like its set from the 70's food was cold and under cooked. Customer service was terrible. Had kids working the till!! Nothing like a bit of child slave labour innit some cultures seem to be behind western behaviour.

Generally nice. I'd say their English food is better than the Chinese food. Have had English food here several times and very nice. Had Chinese on this occasion and have definately had better elsewhere. I'd use them again if I fancied Chinese food and it was late with nowhere else open. On the whole not bad

Me and my family have used this takeaway for over 10 years. They're ownership has changed but the quality never decreased much. I would recommend it for fish and chips as they are speedy and have reasonable prices. Their Chinese food can be a little greasy though so it's not my top pick for that. The best curry sauce in the area and it's such a nice family run business. Would recommend!

Wow! I was told about this place and how good it was. So I thought I would give it a try, and the food was fantastic. First of all, when I arrived, the que was out the door (a good sign) the food was gert lush (very nice for non Bristolians) it was hot and very good quality. I will definitely be going back for more. Gert lush!!!

Extremley helpful and friendly staff, that will cater for dietry requirements. Cash only (cash pint across the road). Been getting food here for over a decade and never had a bad meal. Parking can be a bit scarse sometimes.

I have been go to Hing kee fish bar on and off for a very long time 10 years plus. I am very happy with there service and the food. Yes the portions are a little bit smaller. But with the cost of living going up be grateful that they are still open a lot of takeaways have gone bust. I will be going there for a lot longer.

Hing kee now has a 5 star rating. Really good fish n chip shop as well as Chinese food. Great food which was hot, fresh and tasty. Will order again. Totally recommend

Oh no what's happened to our favourite Chinese take away, the chips were terrible ok you had loads but they were white and soggy ,I tried to brown them by putting in the oven but that didn't work, the Clarks pie was lovely though.We hope things improve as this is usually fab ,maybe there's a new cook.

I ordered Chinese food for 6 people. Chicken Chow Mein, Chicken Curry, Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls, Spare ribs, Crispy Chilli Beef and Special Singapore Noodles with chips and egg fried rice. I had recommended the food as I had eaten from here in the past. Wow...... how its changed the food wasn't that hot but not a problem that's what the microwave is for. The ribs were poor , dry and tasteless. The best bit was the chicken Chow Mein. The rest was poor, so disappointing and embarrassing for me. It also cost £65 . I will not be going back there ...... nowhere near as good as it used to be. The owners need to read this and respond

Great place for Friday night Chinese..just had lemon chicken..tried a few other Chinese shops but the sweet sour sauce seems a generic one all around bristol now..so went back to hing kee tonight..lemon chicken was great 👍

The food is usually really great, but the chips tasted like they’d been cooked previously and just re-heated, not sure if it’s because of the lockdown but it was disappointing after having got food from here after a long time

The food is really nice but the only compliant is there is no fish in your home made fish cakes.. for the price you really need to put some fish in them or just call them a potato cake

Best Chinese I could find in Bristol. I have been going to this place for 2 years now and never been disappointed. We travel from far on our motorbike only the get our favourite Chinese hope it will stay like this

My favourite chinese ever. It's the best in Bristol as far as I am concerned. Never had a problem and the food is delicious every time. Where the shop is located can sometimes be a bit of a mare especially on friday and saturday nights but you can always park up the road and walk down - also this is no reflection on them they cant help the double yellow lines everywhere. Also they only accept cash but there is a cash point 100m up the road.

Have been going here now for many years. Food is always good and consistent. Very well organised family run (I think) business, they have now introduced an order/ticket system which is not seen much in Chinese takeaway or any standard fish and chips shops, this shows how good they are and the strong clientele base they have. A big array of Chinese food to takeaway aswell as the standard fish and chips stuff. Beware so popular that sometimes the shop is very busy but they are very efficient aswell, keep in mind telephone orders also taken.

Simply best (chinese cooked) fish & chips around & I don't even live local (in nearly 20yrs) & still am comin back coz nothin compares! Try one of their home made fishcakes

Lush curries and omelettes .chips always fresh and taste like sea side chips.

I've been coming to the Hink Kee for over 50 years and the way that nostalgia works it ain't what it used to be.

This use to be my go to! Use to! Chewy chips with a funky taste and literally the worst processed chicken in my life. Sauce was nice but never again.

Always provide good food but on the Odd occasion miss something or give u the wrong thing

Not been to Hing Kee Fish bar for some time and it might be a while before we return. Food was very bland, lukewarm and smaller portion sizes.

Used to use the Hing Kee regularly and rave about it as the best but will never eat here again. Had a terrible stomach upset after their cod and chips a few months ago. Never again.

Really disappointed. Hing Kee was always good value for money but this time (and it’s been a long time; I only went because my local Chinese was closed), the food was bland, plastic and tasteless. Only the price and portion size gives it my 3 stars. The chef needs to take a lesson from Hillside Takeaway in how to create something full of flavour. I won’t hurry back but according to the reviews on here, lots of people still love it.

Hing kee for fish and chips all the time.. one of the better place in the area for chips.

Tried loads of other local Chinese take aways and nothing seems to taste as nice as hin kee owners are always lovely and welcoming and the prices are on par with other local takeaways the interior decor could do with updating and could put someone off but it shouldn't as the food is top notch highly recommend this place

I've been coming here for about 12 years, the fish & chips are amazing. I'm disappointed in the 2016 FSA rating of zero!! I heard they were immediately shut down on inspection but re-opened fairly quick. My work colleague lives on the street that backs onto the shop & said he'd never eat from there because he sees what they do to their potatoes!! Not sure what this means & he's being very vague about it, anyway i love their fish & chips.

Used to be my favourite for chips in all of Kingswood until Causeway Fish Bar opened; still excellent, but we're spoiled for choice for specific hungers along Lodge Causeway now! However the Chinese food is unsurpassed, and I'd especially recommend the Sweet and Sour Bean Curd. Definitely worth stopping by for Chinese To Go, and still extremely popular, with good reason.
