Takeaway Chinese and fish and chips. Good size portions of Chinese food so be careful not to order too much! Chef very helpful for ordering gluten free options and changing ingredients to remove gluten.

Disgusting Absolutely un eatable. Fish was not fresh greasy and soggy. Been sitting there for a while Chips where not fresh hard greasy and luke warm. , put the lot in the bin outside the shop, completely waste of money. Steer clear. Cholesterol in bag !!!

First time I have been and the last all the food was not fresh at all. its disgusting the place should be shut down very bad steer very clear. And any 1 who thinks this is a good place to eat its not and I can tell you I'm am a chef. Disappointed with the food. One dish was inedible. This used to be a great takeaway. Not so anymore. It has changed hands and gone downhill. Man who was serving was rude! Would not recommend.

Usually great fish and chips, fish is battered on order. Chips can sometimes be a little less cooked then I prefer but that good be me.

Been having takeaways from Hei’s for years now. The fish and chips is consistently good - especially the chips. The Chinese food is now the best around in my opinion versus the other takeaways and restaurants. Fresh, good quality, full of flavour and good portion sizes. Will continue to drive here versus other closer options.

The food is lovely, but do wish they use the foil containers, like the last owners rather than the plastic containers, as the food stays warmer in the foil containers. Food is good, but still perfer the old owners, but I have been using Heis since 2008.... Staff okay, they run more like a business than part of the community, which is a shame. Parking: Street parking near by or outside the take away. Not wheelchair accessie, but I'm sure if you phoned in advance they would bring it out to you. Bring back the community and the family kindness. As this is the heart of the village

Me and my family have had a great meal from Hei’s ,the fish & chips is just perfect ,Kung po king prawn and special fried rice are so delicious.Definitely recommended

We’ve tried quite a few takeaways since new owners took over. It’s just nowhere near as good. We’ve had dishes that have literally been inedible! Such a shame ! We used to love Hei’s when Terry was there.

0 BLODDY STARS IF POSSIBLE!!! went into heis tonight for a treat for me and the wife after a long week and purposly said NUMEROUS times that my wife is allergic to fish so coukd they box it all seperatly which they kindly agreed to. Asked them if they had prior to leaving and they confirmed. Get home to find my fish in the same box as her savaloy and chips which now means a whole meal in the poxy bin! Thanks for ruining a good night NEVER USING AGAIN!

Fish and chips were awful, chips hard greasy and tasteless, fish dried up. Really was unpleasant, had to heat up when got home less than 5 minutes away. Very expensive for what it was too, could have ate in at a nearby pub for this price and got a better meal. Won't be going back.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING ... UNABLE TO GIVE NO STARS . MY SON FOUND A LONG BLACK HAIR ....THEY DIDNT WANT TO REFUND , CHIPS NOT COOKED PROPERLY AND FISH BATTER POOR, FISH TASTELESS. Will never eat that rubbish again . And will post on social media aswell.

As other reviews have said aswell I found hair in my food. A Long black one then went back to the shop and had a argument to get correct change I didn’t receive a full refund as they didn’t listen and didn’t seem to care and other items of food where under cooked raw chips soggy batter and hair

Gone down hill in the past few months. Would appear its new people but the chips had very little taste chinease food was bland. Its lost what it had so will go somewhere else next time. Such a shame have been using this takeaway since I was 12.

Been going to heis for years but has all changed .food tasteless changed menu not for the good .used to love chicken curry but had first time over day and chicken was like boiled not roast chicken as before absolutely awful and rice bland supposed to be egg fried rice .prices gone up with new menu . heis why change all the menu straight away everything tastes different and been very popular for regular customers even the cartons plastic .been there twice new owners and tried usual dishes and just did not enjoy food .now going to another place .so disappointed.

We drive from Horton kirby to hei’s , different curry sauce, different chicken , salt and pepper dishes with no kick anymore. It has become Just another regular takeaway using the same old wholesalers ingredients as the rest of them. Shame . Won’t see us again.

1st use since the new owners (I think new owners anyway). Not changed for the good, based on the food and atmosphere in the shop, we won't be returning.

Well, had a Chinese from heis tonight. I've been going there for years now and it has always been a constant, decent Chinese takeaway. Today, completely different and really not as good. A real shame

Poor Food quality and portion size. The size of the takeaway box used for a portion of fried rice or noodles is just the size for starter. 15cmx15cm.

I've always loved Heis fish & chips and Chinese food. But I've been vegetarian for a few years now and went to Heis for the first time in years and discovered the vegetarian options were basically non existent

Fish and chips are good. There are a few around the area and this has the added benefit of Chinese foo. People are very friendly. It’s not my fav but I’d happily eat here. .

Exactly what you expect from a local Chinese takeaway. Normal size portions, not large tubs. But certainly great and would fully recommend!

The best fish & chips in the area

Friends recommended it, so I went along and tried it. I wasn't disappointed. I went back again for delicious fish and chips. Going to try the Chinese food next.

Tonight we tried this local fish and chip and Chinese restaurant. We would normally go St Johns or Tom Bell with the latter having an improved hygiene rating now. The service at Heis was lovely. Very friendly. The menu is hand written on a whiteboard and the prices above average. The portions are very very small with the sausage in batter being incredibly small. The fish was freshly cooked. But wet. Hate that. Skin on. And when they wrapped it was wrapped together so was stuck to the paper. Tried some pancake rolls. Tiny and no filling. Tasted like fish like friend in same oil. Wouldn’t go back again.

I was a bit disappointed with my last Chinese takeaway. I had spare ribs, which were cooked well but the sauce was like water and tasteless. The Cod that a friend had, didn't have crispy batter, which was a shame. It can be a bit hit and miss, at times, so you take a chance.

I was told it was very good food here and there is quite often a queue (usally a good sign) the night I went must have been an 'off night' as we were very disappointed with our food. Won't return for a while......

Very clean place. Cash only! Good quality Fish and chips; however, just a little oily for me, but see for yourself. Good portions. Two people could share a medium chips and large cod. My freind liked the Chinese food. Staff was a little grumpy but ok. Overall, I will go back.

This is a takeaway restaurant easy to find in Dunton Green. The staff are friendly. The service is efficient. They have a full Chinese takeaway menu, plus a fish and chips menu and fried chicken. In fact they have just about everything you'd expect from both a Chinese takeaway and a chippy. Prices are fair and the food is good. Convenient parking outside too.

I love their Cod and chips, not swimming in oil, good size fish and more chips than I can eat and easy parking right outside the door. My partner likes their Chinese menu ( I'm not quite so keen and very fussy when it comes to Chinese and only like a take a way for a restaurant)Just be aware on popular nights they are queuing out the door.

Used heis many times over last 15 years never had any problems and the food is great.

This fish and chip shop provides the usual fish and chip selection of food AND Chinese food to takeaway. Very well regarded locally - I have been using the place for years. Often very busy, but the staff work extremely hard to keep waiting time as short as possible. Always good quality food and the prices are good too. Parking can be a little tricky as it is in a parade of shops on a main road, but that is a minor inconvenience. Well worth the effort!!

Great local fish & chip shop with a side order of delicious Chinese food. Located centrally for the Dunton Green population this is a great place to go if you want quick and delicious food. If you want to order Chinese I would suggest picking up one of the take away menus and order by phone. They do not deliver but the waiting time can be long as they cook everything from fresh. FYI They only accept cash, so make sure you have enough before you go!
