Lovely Sunday lunch with friends We went to the pub today for lunch with dear friends we hadn't seen for some time. The village of Monkton Combe is worth a visit. Beautiful scenery, perfect for a walk. We ordered a few starters: burrata with beetroot and rhubarb, and cheese balls, which are crispy on the outside with a delicious creamy cheese filling! We all had the roast: nut roast for me, which was very tasty. Our friends ordered pork and beef, cooked to perfection. For dessert, we had cherry ice cream, refreshing and flavoursome. The service was extremely pleasant, especially from the young waiter who served us. He was attentive, clearly explained the dishes, and told us a bit about the village. It's great to see a pub with people who really care about the quality of the food and service. Highly recommend!!

Chey is nice I love it here defo will come back. I am allergic to pineapple and they have been really good with me and made sure I’m safe

No tan bueno como otras ramas. Realmente no puedo poner mi dedo en la llaga. Pero desde que llegas, nunca nos sentimos como en casa como en el de Windsor. Algo estaba mal, y de ahí... todo se fue abajo

It's a nice place. Food and drink is good but make sure they can seat you in a decent place. We were plonked in a row of tables with people quite close beside us. Not comfortable for anyone.

Tan increíble comida, que no pudimos nombrar nuestro plato favorito porque todo estaba muy delicioso. Conseguimos 17 platos entre 6 de nosotros y era simplemente perfecto, aunque tristemente estábamos demasiado llenos para el postre! Nuestros servidores eran tan encantadores, súper serviciales y amables y trataron bien con las tonterías de un gran grupo familiar! Muchas gracias 😊

Couldn’t have asked for a better experience, truly amazing food at a very reasonable price, without a shadow of a doubt the best meal out I’ve had in years. Staff were delightful and the chef deserves his own restaurant. Will definitely be returning….. very soon.

We had a lovely meal in the Amalfi restaurant in The Chine Hotel, The grounds of the hotel are wonderful with some fantastic gardens to explore & a lovely short walk to the beach. The restaurant is decorated wonderfully & you are whisked back in time to an art deco period, with so much memorabilia of famous people who have stayed here in the past. The meal was great, there was a lot of choice & it was cooked to perfection using locally sourced fresh ingredients. The staff were helpful & friendly & this made our experience fantastic.

THANKYOU for making my daughters day 😃 My daughter cannot eat dairy or gluten so when she got presented with a salted caramel ice cream in a waffle cone she was made up!! Thankyou to the lady who served us and helped us with our selection, we WILL be back x

When we entered we had hardly got through the door when this older women with glasses barked at us what did we want her whole manner was very inhospitable then told us we could only sit at this one big table as they were laying out the tables ready for Christmas and we were not able to sit in the other area either. The other staff were very friendly If this person is in charge she needs a talking to. I have worked in hospitality and if I had acted like that I would have been reprimanded.

Stopped here for a coffee and an ice cream for the journey home. I've stopped here for a pit-stop twice now during a weekend stay in Paignton. The stall holders have been great, chatty, patient and friendly. Coffee, ice-cream, snacks of good quality and a few buckets and spades. Thank you for great taste, high satisfaction and friendly service. Love that I could have a child-size ice cream for £1.50. Lovely quality ice cream too. Thanks. You are part of our plan when we go to Marine Parade for rock-pooling, beach hut spotting and feeling a bit more like a local.

Delicious food. Staff are really nice and honest with timings on food coming out. Order over the phone on Fridays to guarantee food.
