Pilgrims Ice Cream in Plymouth

THANKYOU for making my daughters day 😃 My daughter cannot eat dairy or gluten so when she got presented with a salted caramel ice cream in a waffle cone she was made up!! Thankyou to the lady who served us and helped us with our selection, we WILL be back x

Bought a whippy ice cream after being tempted by the external signage about these. The portion was disappointing for the price (£4.60!). It didn’t look tall & swirly as expected, and I wasn’t asked about any toppings/sauce. Ice cream was fairly nice but had a bit of an artificially sweet taste which ice cream shouldn’t have. The scoop-able flavours looked nicer!

Come here for ice cream every time we visit Plymouth.. its definitely the best, with all kinds of flavours, cones and toppings including Clotted Cream- yum ! Everything's meticulously clean and tidy and and staff are brilliant. I'd drive the length of the country for the blood orange sorbet in a chocolate cone..

I love ice-cream, and know decent ice-cream, so research where the best stuff is. On looking around, I see most people have Marshfield which is not that great, but you have Yard Farm. On our last day, I got to give it a go, with two decent cornets, with two scoops in each cone(4 types!). I can say they it is very good ice cream, but not the best there is! I will come again, when I come down again, though! Your service was very good, with not much waiting time, too.

Cute ice cream parlour on the sea front in The Barbican, Plymouth. What made our family run into the shop was the promise of gluten free waffle cones. Always thrilled to see this, you'll be surprised how few parlours have this option. We ALL got to eat ice cream in a cone, Rum & Raisin, Mint Choc Chip, vegan Strawberry and even Unicorn Flavour! Even the dogs go to have an ice cream each with the doggie ice cream on sale. Great value for money when you see the HUGE scoop sizes 👏🏻

The choices are incredible, highly recommend the chocolate orange and cookie dough although my children loved the bubblegum - add a honeycomb waffle cone and you have pure delight!

My grown-up daughter and I were passing Pilgrims and contemplating a cup of tea or an ice cream before catching the ferry when a family came out of Pilgrims and the little girl was licking a unicorn ice cream - one didn't have to be told what it was - it was obvious. Who knew such a thing existed? One should always try new things so it was a unicorn ice cream in a unicorn cone for me - the waffle cone had a white chocolate top with blue edible glitter around it and the ice cream was pink and blue swirls. My daughter favours honeycomb and I'm sure that hers was not as big as mine - oh dear, how sad, never mind. We both very much enjoyed our ice creams (slightly wary of gulls) sitting nearby overlooking the harbour. What a super end to our day. My daughter said, 'It's cold, I'm cold but it won't stop me from having an ice cream.' Now that's what I call dedication to the cause. Lovely ice cream.

Puny sized ice creams, 1 being hollow inside Staff need to learn the skill of a scoop, and the size Felt totally dissatisfied, walked a few paces towards the hoe and saw another ice cream shop with proper sized portions and told the staff next time I would be going there , they too were shocked when I showed them the ice Young inexperienced staff needed more training

Absolutely superb service! Really nice team. The ice creams have to be the best fresh whilst I’ve ever had! We went back at least 4 times whilst on holiday because they were so good!!! Thank you Team Pilgrims :)

Was great to have a gluten free cone (wish the girl wouldn’t have put her hands all over it - as she’d been handling regular cones containing gluten before this!) Wash hands - cross contamination!! Napkin would be been least she could do between the cone and her hand... Ice cream was nice - service was lacking... (Not to great for somebody like myself with Coeliac disease - would stick with a tub in hindsight)

We keep giving this place a chance...the ice cream is good but the miserable staff put us off. No one smiles. Other friends have mentioned the same. Oh well,..

My Girlfriend and I visited Pilgrims Ice Cream shop today and were delighted with the ice cream that we received. The lady behind the counter was really warm and welcoming. There was a great choice of cone selection and many many ice creams. My Girlfriend went for white chocolate and raspberry. I went for a double scoop of chocolate chip and banoffee in a chocolate dipped cone. Wow! It was a very generous amount of ice cream and absolutely delicious! I very nearly beat my girlfriend at devouring my two scoops to her one. I certainly had no intention of sharing it! I don't know where the ice cream is made? Being a Cornishman myself and knowing that everything from Cornwall is better... who knows? Wherever it's from though, it certainly is delicious! Looking for ice cream in Plymouth? Get yourself down to the Pilgrims Ice Cream shop. Yum!!

Ice creams galore. Umpteen cone choices too. For little believers they even had a unicorn flavour ice cream. Just off from the harbour.

Ice cream and a really good choice.Staff very helpful and they do WOODEN spatula for ice cream instead of plastic.But it isn't cheap so check the price before you buy sauces are free.

Buen helado, pero después de la primera lamida, noté un enorme cabello incrustado en el helado, de aproximadamente 10 a 12 pulgadas de largo. Me sentí físicamente enfermo. No puedo culpar a la señora detrás del mostrador; Ella lo reemplazó y se disculpó mucho.Tengo dudas acerca de sus prácticas de higiene ahora cuando producen el helado.

Justo en el lado del puerto principal, nos encontramos con peregrinos, lado a lado con una cadena de otros lugares de helados. No tengo idea de por qué nos decidimos por los peregrinos, ¡pero no nos arrepentimos! Gran helado local con algunos sabores inusuales (p. Ej., Cereza y crema), y una gran variedad de conos diferentes. A los niños les encantó, ¡la mitad de la diversión fue elegir el cono! La señora que lo dirigía fue increíblemente amable y nos animó a probar algunos de los sabores antes de comprar. No dudaría en volver la próxima vez que estemos allí.

Popped in here many times, alone and with my daughter.Delicious ice cream, waffles and all sorts on offer in here. A real delight. The ice cream was fabulous, totally addictive and yummy. Impossible to have just one, you will be drawn back a second, third, fourth or fifth time! Totally recommend here...but be prepared to stay...and stay...and stay.

This place is certainly a little gem. Such a wide variety of ice cream to choose from. This shop lets you try before you buy. We also had a coffee and the whole experience made ur stay very worthwhile. Excellent, friendly staff.

Once you’re inside (and it’s a one-way system with a queue) the choice is almost overwhelming. With a choice of at least 5 different cones and I don’t know how many flavours, it take a little while to decide what to order!Great service, and the decor is fun too. Would recommend and visit here again

Yes Pilgrim Ice-Cream Shop is Good, but not 5* They serve a number of Drinks other than the ever popular and delicious Langage Farm Ice Cream which will always bring in the Customers whatever your age. However, the Staff could do with a more cheery outlook. Very robotic and not happy as you might expect in the height of the Season with the Sun Shining and the Till ringing. The Ice-Cream is the one thing that Pilgrim sells which make my Rating if Very Good.........otherwise the Rating would be well down.

Anywhere that does a Mr Whippy 99 is pretty good in my books. Great location next to the marina front. Friendly service and raspberry syrup. Lovely!

Firstly the garish outsized graphics on the exterior of the famous 'Island House' building destroy its look and turn it into half Disney prop, half kissmequick venue. Most of the flavoured ice creams are from the Langage factory out by Plympton and a but creamy for our palate. They also heavily market alcoholic 'Pops' which don't seem to work as well as the labels suggest. All that said this place is much better than its predecessor and different enough from its only real competition back Southside Street in Basket Ope.

Traditional Ice Creams - Handmade. Right on the waterfront of the Barbican in Plymouth. Very popular - and deservedly so. Recommended
