My New Favourite! Loved my experience here! The staff were really personable and knowledgeable. The music and decor really generated an enjoyable atmosphere and the food was delicious! I was recommended to opt for their hot jerk chicken and it had a brilliant depth of flavour and was coupled with excellent sides in generous portions. Delicious!!! So excited to go back!

I cannot recommend Soul Food Vendor enough. Everything was perfection. The food was incredible, so fresh and tasty and such a wide variety. The staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us including staying open past their closing time, they really made my evening. I already can’t wait to go back and try even more of the menu! What an incredible restaurant.

Dropped in for a pre-show meal. The food is amazing, true taste of the carribean. Lovely attentive staff called Lucy who was able to describe all the dishes perfectly. We had 10x wingz and ragga fries. Along with jerk chicken with bbq jerk sauce, sweet potato mash and green veg. For dessert we shared the Ginger waffle which was all amazing. We would thoroughly recommend SoulFood.

Honestly cannot recommend this place more. The food was delicious, and reminded me of home (not my home, but of the feeling of home). The music they played had my mate and I taking breaks to dance, whine and live a little. And the staff were welcoming, knowledgeable and so very kind. Can't wait to come back (cause I will be coming back lol)

Excellent customer service from the front of house staff. Only nipped in for some Jerk chicken, which was cooked nicely, and the jerk sauce was V. Good. Richard came and introduced himself, friendly and approachable when asked about the jerk sauce not being hot enough (for me). I highly recommend Soul Food. Will be back again V. Soon

I went here this evening with my partner for a date night and thought both the food and service was exceptional. I had the stacker burger and the beef patty and my partner had the jerk chicken. I can honestly say my burger was the best burger I have eaten, the sauce was sweet and smokey and the meat was jucy and succulent. We also had their new dessert the waffle with Jamaican ginger cake and chocolate syrup and would definitely recommend. The cocktails were aso very dangerous (delish) as they tasted so good and came beautifully presented. The customer service was incredible a very welcoming and lovely staff, I have decided to go back next week to try more of their menus. If you want a warm, beautiful and tasteful atmosphere and food you won't find anywhere better.

#1 food spot in plymouth by a mile! soke of the most welcoming and friendly staff i have ever encountered in a restaurant and the food was absolutely amazing, will be returning in 2 weeks and everytime we come to plymouth

Soul Food is an absolute delight ❤️ The happy atmosphere, welcoming staff, great music and of course, the excellent food. Visited on the afternoon of 17th February 2024. Myself and my partner agreed that the food was the tastiest we have had in a long time, all of the staff were wonderful and talented at their jobs and we will be excited to visit again soon. It's a 50 mile round trip from where we live and well worth it ❤️ x

What a wonderful place. Superb food & drink, service second to none, nothing too much trouble and staff go out of their way to ensure everyone is kept happy. Food to die for, we were well catered for through the night. Very well done to Richard and his team, the group (16 of us) where made welcomed and to feel at home. We dined in the soul food vendor today for the first time and it did not disappoint! The food was unbelievably good and the staff were so welcoming and friendly! I would 1000% recommend!

A group of about 12 of us booked for an evening in the restaurant and we really were not disappointed. The food was excellent, service fast and efficient but the welcome was the most memorable. Throughout, we were looked after, shots were given and I can’t recommend this place enough. Enjoy

A really good genuinely welcoming place. The menu was really interesting, I had a wicked man ( seems to be the one to go for as it's a sample of everything) Portion size was lovely, staff were really engaging and the owner was sat in the main bar chatting with customers.

First time visiting this restaurant, 16 of us went . We was made to feel very welcome by the the manager & staff . l had the vegable & rice wrap with chips, my meal was so nice , very generous with the filling ,chips was nice & crisp. If your visiting or live in Plymouth, wondering where to go for lunch or dinner, l highly recommended you giving this place a try.

I Cannot recommend souls food enough ! One of my favourite places to eat when I’m treating my self or with friends and family. The food is super tasty fresh and hearty. The staff are all so welcoming and warm it really makes you want to go back and plan another trip there. I always order the same wicked man 2 so I can enjoy the flavours of multiple ingredients. I have branches out this weekend and had a wrap and it was ridiculous. The flavours, taste and texture left me completely gobsmacked. To say I can’t wait to go back is an understatement. We came here for a family dinner the weekend before last . Everything about the evening was great .Friendly staff,relaxed atmosphere,great cocktails,the food was enjoyed by everyone.Nice to have vegan options that weren't just curry . My little boy enjoyed his fried chicken and the rest of our party enjoyed a variety of dishes full of flavour.The jerk chicken was amazing .We can't wait to go back

Don’t question it!! Just go!! Delicious food! Lamb curry is off the chart so much flavour! Chicken goujons are the best in Plymouth!! The menu is drool worthy, a great selection and variety, with something yummy for everyone. Great value for money, amazing service and friendly staff :) We will be back!

Finally got round to visiting this restaurant, it has been on our list for over a year. It definitely did not disappoint. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, the chef came up and greeted us personally which was a nice touch with his recommendations. The food was mind blowing, great sized portions. We had the platter which had a bit of everything so you get a real taste of Jamaican food. The food itself came out hot and all bursting with flavour. The soul food sauce was incredible drizzled over the fried chicken. Honestly can not recommend this place enough, we will definitely be regular customers!

Me & my teenage son decided to go out for food late one Saturday afternoon. We fancied trying somewhere different so my son googled and found Soul Food. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. It had a nice warm vibe to it. Good reggae music playing and the decor was Jamaican style. We shared a jerk chicken platter which had goat curry and rice & peas and ordered some sides (which we probably didn’t need) portion sizes were good. The Pattie was delicious - ALL of it was really tasty. Lots of flavour and very fresh tasting. Also I thought very reasonably priced. We will definitely be going back.

We pop in to SF as often as we can, the service is always friendly and personal. Food is unfussy and great tasting fresh food. The raga fries are amazing. The chicken combo is a great sample plate. Would thoroughly recommend.

On a visit to plymouth for a weekend where I was born, I stumbled upon this amazing little restaurant.. Not only were the staff so friendly and lovely, the food was out of this world, and believe me I know about caribbean food. Unfortunately they didn't have the ox tail.. but I did have the curry goat 🐐 🍚 and peas 🫛 plantain 😋 I would highly recommend eating there.. I just wish there was a place near me like this. Well done ladies and big hug to the chef 👨‍🍳 x

Whent here with my partner the other day very pretty inside the atmosphere was nice Wish I could say the same for the waitress though was served by jade didn't seem welcoming at all just seemed off with me was an instant off vibe when she approached the table shame really cus the rest was good We got the lamb curry and jerk chicken with rice and peas and a side of plantin and the lamb Curry portion size are good but abit on the pricy side for what it is so wouldn't want to go all the time may think about it in the future if the prices wasn't so expensive lol

Excellent food. Good service. We tried the fried chicken combo, and ditty fries with jerk pork. It came with all the sauces we needed. The waitress came to check on us. Everything was fab.

We had lamb curry, jerk chicken, and "dutty" fries on a Wednesday lunchtime. The lady that served us was really nice and helpful. Food was absolutely stunning, amazing Carribbean flavours and all plates were emptied. Would thoroughly recommend!

Amazing food. I ordered the Wicked Man 1 and it was all great. The Jamaican Mix Up cocktail I had with it was great. My wife had a Big Butty Chicken Stack and it was incredible too. You won't regret trying Soul Food Vendor if you like Caribbean style food! The food is amazing! Portion sizes are big and the price of the food is reasonable for the quality of the food & portions you get! If you like spicy food then you'll love the food as they certainly don't mess around when it comes to the level of spice! The jerk chicken with rice & peas is among the best I've ever had, I highly recommend trying it! The staff are always so lovely & welcoming, and there is usually good reggae music playing to accompany the Rastafari-themed decor! All in all, Soul Food is a great little restaurant and I will be coming back many times in the near future! If the did delivery then I'd probably order it all the time!

The staff were lovely and lively got us our cocktails and mocktails on arrival the St. Elizabeth was really good for anyone who loves a sweet drink. Ordered the wicked man 2 for the 3 of us as was doing a restaurant crawl and unfortunately it did not meet expectations, for starters I was expecting a proper platter but got a bowl with everything all together which wasn't hot and the chicken didn't taste right. We took one bite of everything each and none of us enjoyed it. We spoke to the chef and did offer to reheat but we were just put off at this point. We were told we were going to have to pay for it anyway which was quite disappointing as they offered to reheat/remake which costs ingredients anyway but it had to be done. The waitresses were lovely again but £50 for 3 drinks and a platter that did not taste good put quite a damper on the day we won't be coming back unfortunately.

Always met with a lovely warm smile and welcome. Food is always made to order and hot. The wingz and dip starter, and chicken butty stack are great. Wraps are well stacked and so tasty. All washed down with Red Stripe beer.

I've eaten loads of jerk chicken wings in all over the world and this place serves them deep fried with a bland sauce on the side 😅😅😅. Cannot believe this place has a lot of positive reviews. Service needs to improve and it would be great to mention that the jerk chicken wings are fried rather than grilled which is not normal🤮. I donot know what other food taste like there but when a Caribbean favourite can be served bland then it speaks of other stuff..
