Very flavorful food. really friendly service. beef pattie had excellent pastry. chicken well marinated. lamb curry was super tasty. mac and cheese was scrumptious. really good portions. sauces yum yum yum. plate was well stacked so keep that in mind if ordering a lot! chill atmpsphere, carribean food at its best!

Majority of my dine - in experiences havnt been that good. Soul vendor not only gave me faith in cafes again, but the service, coffee and food, were perfect.

Very friendly and awesome flavours, the jerk was brilliantly fruity, perfectly balancing with the spice. The ginger cake waffles were also superb and all topped off by fantastic customer service!! Will be visiting again soon :))

Well..... Where to start. I mean just go there, don't bother reading the rest of the review, it's good. Really good. Right, for those that stayed. I have been on a strict controlled diet for training purposes for years, and very rarely I allow myself a day of indulgence, thankfully we choose here to have my splurge. I am so glad we did. The service was warm and friendly with a clean and looked after environment. It looks rustic, but that's the design. The food wasn't greasy and had plenty of flavour, but there does have to be some criticism to counter the good. The only thing I can say, is I would have liked the jerk chicken to be hotter, after I brought this up I was told it could have been done as a request. This level of service isn't advertised, but will be used next time. We fully intend eating here again. Congratulations on the great service and cuisine..

I honestly can not recommend this place enough! I eat here regular! The staff are so lovely and welcoming, Jade goes above and beyond every single time I go. The food is second to none, portion sizes are mega! Food tastes phenomenal, props to the chef! There's no restaurant quite like this one. I love the vibe and the music, it's a great little 'pick me up' going here. I just love it! ❤️ My little recommendations for anyone, fried mac wrap, cheese dumplings and plantain, these are my go to's and my personal faves. Much love to you all

LOVED the food - the cheesy dumplings, wicked man and jerk chicken wrap were delicious. I haven’t had much soul food before but Ian and his colleagues go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and explain the menu, so it was a great experience. Also, great value for your money - You can tell everything is homemade and portions are very generous.

Great music, atmosphere and most importantly food. Very friendly service and impressive choice of soul food dishes. This place is a little different in that they have their own twist on traditional Caribbean recipes from the jerk gravy to the rice and beans. Beautifully presented and delicious flavours.

We wanted to try SoulFood Well for a while now and managed to go in today for lunch. The food was amazing and so was the service. Our waitress was so helpful and friendly. our eight-year-old tried everything and absolutely loved his fast experience of Caribbean food, we will definitely be back ☺️☺️

I never usually leave reviews but on this occasion I had to give credit where due. Amazing food, the closest to true Jamaican food I’ve ever found in the UK. But best of all was the service. We were assisted by kind and bubbly Lucy who managed to check up on us several times & fetch us drinks and condiments in record time, despite how busy the restaurant was at the time! She also has excellent knowledge of the menu, she literally knew it like the back of her hand when we enquired about ingredients and what to order. Hats off to you Lucy. There was a large group of us, and so lots of requests and things to remember but we could not fault her warm and helpful attitude she was genuinely happy to help. Tasty and authentic food, gold star service, a great in-restaurant vibe it doesn’t get much better & we will certainly be back.

First time i have had food here, my honest opinion is the best soul food i have had in twenty years , the jerk sauce was unbelievable and the service we got was second to none. First class

Went for a meal here today and it was such a fantastic experience. The staff were brilliant, friendly and welcoming as well as very knowledgeable. They made you feel at home. Had the three little birds and it was honestly one of the nicest things I've ever eaten. The fries were also out of this world! Would highly recommend and will definitely be back!

I’ve been here 3 times in the last couple of months. The food is amazing. The customer service is outstanding, they’re a friendly and professional team. So much better than a chain restaurant! Support local and try this place out. It won’t disappoint. My husband had a wicked platter but there’s loads of veggie/ vegan options too I had the veggie wraps and the curry and it was great.

I am usually pretty fussy with food but wanted to try something new whilst at a birthday meal here. The jerk chicken wrap was amazing - it was not entirely to my tastes but it was made so well that it was still a great experience. The portion sizes are such great value for money too. The cocktails were also great, so many to choose from. The atmosphere is what sets this place apart I believe. It was upbeat but also very relaxing. Would recommend.

The guys were so welcoming and friendly. So apologetic about any delays, which wasn't an issue anyway. We were given free shots of rum and had the beef patties from our meal come out first so we didn't waste away. Really thoughtful. I had the wicked man 1 platter and my husband had wicked man 2 platter (has additional Mac n cheese). It was so bloody good. None of it was crazy spicy hot, just deliciously flavoured. I couldn't pick a favourite part of the platter, as it was all amazing. We were so full but didn't want to miss out on pud, so we got a waffle to go and eat later! went out with my friends to celebrate one of them submitting their final assignment and we decided to try something new and it was a great choice! Ian was working that day and he was so nice and welcoming and even gave us free shots with our cocktails (which were great, i especially liked the soul food rum punch). i got the wicked man 2 to share with my friend and it was really tasty we both enjoyed it. not all of us were able to finish our food so we were given takeaway boxes to take our leftovers home as well. over all a really really good time, great service and great food. We have all said we’ll definitely be coming back again <3

Came across this place whilst wandering around. I love a good curried goat so thought I'd treat myself. The guy serving was great, but the food unfortunately wasn't up to par. The goat was tough, not cooked long enough and the gravy was far too hot as in spicy. I can't do really hot as a rule but every other curried goat I've had, and I've had a few, have all been within my heat tolerance. The rice and peas was just overcooked rice with some sort of spice in it. Not a kidney bean in sight. For 17 quid I expected something really good. I enjoyed my cocktail and left most of the food and walked out. Wasted my money on this one unfortunately.

Went here and had a banging sit down meal, we got the "Wicked Man 2" platter to share which was packed full of different dishes, all just as good as each other, cheap prices on rum too, had a dessert shot of Wray and Nephews Overproof which was a great way to end the meal. If you want a place with great food, and some of the most sound staff in Plymouth, eat here.

My daughter requested Soulfood for her 7th birthday so we booked for today, when we arrived they had balloons and banners for her! The cocktails were amazing to start.. then the food came and again it was incredible, first time my family members had tried Caribbean food and they loved it!
